    I took something called OMAD ( 23 hours of no kcal intake ) and lost 39 lbs / 18 kgs,
    60% fat ( key to keep hunger at bay ) and 20% from Carbs and Protein.
    Nice dessert is to freeze cottage cheese for 2 hours - then whip it up to make it creamy and add to it whatever you like.

    Great appetite suppression tips! The water tip really works. I find that an ice cold Topo Chico (or any sparkling mineral water) works like a charm. Also, just distracting yourself by doing a task or taking a walk is a great idea. Also! I love hearing you say it’s not a reason to panic. Too many people get panicked at the first sign of hunger. But that’s the magic moment when your body starts burning its own fat. So it’s a good thing (to a point).

    I do compound- I love that I don’t have to worry about insurance. I just started second month and I’m definitely seeing many many changes in appetite and satiety is incredible.

      That appetite suppression and food noise reduction caught me so off guard in the beginning, in a good way. I felt like I could make the healthy decisions without the constant thought of eating all the time.

    I started out with the brand name Zepbound. Was paying out of pocket. It was just too expensive to maintain. I switched to compounded tirzepatide and love it! I can titrate slowly, taking my time if necessary. I’ve had great results with minimal side effects

    I literally just took my 1st dose of the compound this Tuesday and I would say it is working. I started at 2.5 and I have had some side effects. My RX was $195.

    • @JenelleKetcham

      Compared to prescription costs without insurance, $195 is a great price!

    I’m on both compound and Name brand zepbound depending on if I can get my prescription filled. I’ve done everything from just compound to recently doing 5mg of compound with a 2.5mg pen of Zep to get to my dose 7.5mg. When we get to December I will most likely have to go fully to compound due to cost.

    I believe this is the first video I’ve seen of yours! I appreciate your tips especially since I’m a pm snacker and trying to g to break habit. Hope you see this as I’d like to ask a question.. I’m on 5 mg terzepitide compound. I was thinking I need to go up to 7.5 but I may just need to try better to control my late eating and work with the 5mg longer ? Mindful protein / calories etc

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      That a tough question for me to answer because my approach to this medicine and my weight loss journey is a tad different than most. I like to focus more on my eating habits and the medicine second. But that is only if it is still providing some appetite suppression and little side effects. And if you are still seeing weight loss I would stay and if you are in a stalling maybe try to tweak a couple things and if the scale is still not moving then go up!

    Wow too much thinking I don’t do anything like what you do but I do the protein route and staying away from the sugar junk cause I’m also a Diabetic I’m on Mounjaro 15mg. and my A1C has gone done so far so good but stop worrying you’re doing fine!!!

    I just took my 4th shot of compound Tirzapatide. So far so good, I have had decent to good appetite suppression. I’ve lost about 7 pounds in three weeks -that follows having lost 13 pounds on my own since May 5th prior to going onto the medication. For me, compounds are the only choice as I am on a Medicare D HMO plan and it will not cover any type of weight loss medication for me.

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Sounds similar to how I started. I did an 8 week challenge and saw about 8 lbs loss and then I started mounjaro. And I wish there was a way for the insurance companies to get on board and cover this life changing medication.

  • @josjo188

    compound route all the way. It was such a headache to even try to get prior authorization for mounjaro approved. i didnt wanna keep appealing or all of a sudden not have coverage. Been on tirzepatide 7 weeks now, and on 5mg. glad to be able to stay at this dose ( i just refilled) and plan to titrate slowly which is a great benefit of compound.

      Thanks for commenting! I am hearing so many positive things about the compound route and if I hit even the smallest snag getting this medicine I will be going that route.

    I was on mounjaro for 3 months then zepbound for 4 and now tirzeptide for 4 months due to shortage. I find no change since going to compound. My insurance has never covered my meds.

    Hopefully your insurer will see the light before too long. Meanwhile, you should have better luck going the route of compound pharmaceuticals. Fortunately, I'm approved through my insurer for at least 3 years with a $25.00 co-pay (Type 2 Diabetes), & much in need of weight loss as well.
    I'm not even sure I could afford the compound pharmacy prices . I mean to maintain the minimum dosage necessary to lower blood sugar levels & manage my recent Diabetes diagnosis with the help of exercise, and especially through a better diet. Good luck to you and to everyone on their respective journeys!
    👍🏽💯😊

      I am in a similar situation now. We are submitting a PA to get it covered for another year but have to wait till Aug 1st to send it. I’ve had no issues and then I got the letter that insurance is changing the coverage of it. I started researching Fridays and may set up a consult to get more Info.

    I've learned just going to bed does wonders for the late night 'hunger'. If I'm really nuts mixing protein powder into milk with some vanilla helps. Then going to bed. I'm not a regular viewer (sorry, but being honest...) why did you go down in dose? I've lost almost 100 pounds and have another 60 to go to get myself into the middle of normal BMI. My glucose control is good, but I wish it were a little better. Yes, I'm T2D.

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      My doctor believes that when you are close to your goal weight and below the bmi requirement to start decreasing to find a maintenance dose but still go into a calories deficit. Not having much success seeing that number go down on the scale but trying to trust his process for another month and then I may move on from him.

    For me having enough protein spaced out though out the day keeps the hunger at bay. I take a protein supplement one hour before bedtime and that keeps me from waking up hungry. I have some sort of protein with each meal and if I have planned for a snack it will include some sort of protein.
    I started off using Mounjaro but quickly switched to compound because I could not be bothered with the whole shortage/insurance circus. Losing weight is challenging enough with all that added drama.

    • @JenelleKetcham
      @JenelleKetcham  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I used to have a protein shake or bar about 2 hours before bed when I first started but just stopped for no real reason. I will probably look to add in something small to help.
