For me the only advantage of lumix lense is its size not even the weight. I had to aquire that lense because I wanted to carry my camera with me ready to hand on the working site. Even though 20mm is not my focal lenght. When I am on my own shooting streets I use the beloved 25mm))
I recently went from M5iii to M1iii and notice much better face/ eye AF. I think it will improve shooting my kids from f1.4 with the 20mm. I paid the extra for weather sealing and AF.
The 20mm f1.4 is rather cheap compared to the other OMDS pro prime lenses and it is the smallest of this kind, with all the same tried and trusted image quality. Paired with an EM-5 or OM-5 it is also weather sealed! And balances perfectly with that size of a camera or bigger. With smaller bodies like Pen Mini it is indeed a bit too big and front heavy. I therefore also think about getting the Lumix for them in addition for a while now. So far the Olympus 17mm f1.8 nearly fits that bill for me and does it very well, but I simply love the 40mm equivalent FoV, just like you seem to do. It is just the perfect normal for my eye. You can’t really have too many good lenses, right?
Sorry but irrespective of the camera body, the lens is NOT weathersealed, thus making the whole package NOT weathersealed. Rubber gusket between lens and body makes all the difference.
@@gogogeegee76 I just checked again and my 20mm f1.4 has the tiny rubber lid. With its IPX1 rated sealing, it should protect against water spray and linght rain
@@gogogeegee76 The lens (OMDS 20mm 1.4 pro) itself has IPX1 rating and I just looked and found a very thin rubber lid on it to seal it with the body. So It should protect against dust and spray water or snow if you use it with a body that has sealing.
The price of the Lumix 20mm f1.7 plus the Lumix 25mm f1.4 together is still cheaper than the OM 20mm f1.4. You should really try out if the 40mm perspective works for you. For normal shooting the 50mm perspective is great but for video it is a bit too close. If the 4k video crop is in effect it is even closer.
Nice review, BUT what about the big elephant in the room, ie Weathersealing? I take it many of your photos are from Bucharest, where weather can be a pain.

LUMIX Leica 15mm f1.7 in 3:2 format it gives 35mm FOV and it’s small perfect for a Pen-F
