That looks like my $90.00 Amazon violin but with only 1 bow and the bridge was set already. At first I was confused about it making zero sounds but I looked up how to set it up and followed the instructions: tighten bow, scratch up rosin with a fork or knife, apply rosin to bow, tune violin (and even take off a string to practice putting it back on incase of breakage) put shoulder rest on and you're off! Love your video I learned a lot! ❤🎻
You play beautifully. It's not the price of the violin, it's the quality of the player. The real question is... what's the brand of your microphone? It captured everything very well.
I got one and it's AWESOME! Tried another brand and had to send it back to Amazon. This one is a steal for the price! Excellent bow. The only issue I had was the E string wouldn't hold a note. I put some Hinderpaste on the peg and pushed it in tight. Now I have no problems. Awesome sounding Violin!
Wow, that's really impressive for $100! Playability and feel is more important than sound honestly if you're only paying $100, so beginner violinists are in luck to be able to jump into playing for so little!
I was suddenly feeling nostalgic, I played a violin a short while in high school, I had an urge to buy a cheap or used one and this review gives some confidence to this product. 👍
i've been looking for a violin since Christmas but i never brought one because I saw bad reviews and i was nervous but After seeing this video i think im finally going to buy a violin and I'm so excited so thanks a bunch for the review
great video. Im 56, never touched a violin in my life. Ive played guitar for 46 years, bass, drums, keyboards,,,,never touched a Fiddle. Thats why got my interest. The fiddle music on all those classi country songs like Dwight Yoakam, etc. Amazon is the place to go. So, i decided to check this one out...and see the review. She plays so awesome....thats what i hope to do! Only 99!
I have the Eastar Eva 330. I was quite pleasantly surprised by the sound for the price point. The sound post was where it should be and the strings were properly spaced. The bows, I have issues with. They packed them without loosening the bow first. The hair is loose now. I don't like the strings, especially the E string and the A. The G and D aren't as bad. I'll be starting with the D'Addario Ascente strings or Thomasik. The bridge on mine could have had a better curve. It's easier than it should be to nick the string beside the one I'm playing. I'll be replacing it. It's a good, sturdy case for the cost. I needed hypoallergenic rosin so I went with Jade L' Opera. It's a great hypoallergenic rosin for those with allergies to natural rosin. My pegs slip a bit so I'll need peg compound. For it's price, it's a good beginner set. While I learn the basics with this set, I'll save for a higher model.
I have same as yours too. I'm still learning how to play. If you have any suggestions for bridge replacement, and replacement for string A and E. I would love and appreciate any suggestions.
Wow, I am blown away at the price and quality of the Violin, but I must say you play so beautifully and made the Violin sing! You are so talented and have a lovely technique. What a great review. I am very impressed. Great video - thank you ❤
I saw your video and decided to go for one because I thought it sounded amazing for the price. I'm really pleased with it, so thanks! It was a great review vid.
Thank you for this video. I just retired recently, and heard that learning a musical instrument can help ward off senility. I am not sure that I will take up the violin, the kazoo might be more my speed. Even if I do, I would be lucky to become as good as Jack Benny when he was being funny on stage, though I have read that he was much better in real life. You are most encouraging. You did not denigrate the inexpensive instrument. Many professionals do that to show how sophisticated they are. I think anyone would be lucky to have you as a teacher.
First, I never knew the people from Little Rock, AR had such an enchanting accent. I could listen all day. I've ordered a more expensive "beginner" violin, a Gliga Genial-1 Oil varnished violin that is handmade in Romania, since I have many friends from there. With some upgraded D'Addario Heliocore strings, (I heard the regular strings aren't great), a carbon fiber bow, and a Wittner tailpiece, I spent over $420. (Those upgrades were suggested by another Teacher/Review on TH-cam). I have been waiting for my violin, but I'm honestly considering picking up one of these Eastar violins so I can get started! With Amazon's fast delivery I may be practicing for a week before the Gliga arrives. Thank you so much for your thorough review. So many of the luthiers make fun and talk badly about the less expensive violins. Based on your review I think I can get an Eastar and that I will not become frustrated because my violin is inferior. I may throw some D'Addario Preludes on it. So many music stores sell Chinese violins. Even the luthiers, (Olaf and Fiddlerman), buy Chinese violins made to their specifications. Thank you again for your beautiful review. Please let me know if you think my setup is appropriate.
Shop owners and teachers in cahoots with shop owners like to paint low cost violins with a black brush because they're bad for business. _Some_ of them are actually quite good and not just "for the money". Some, I expect, are horrible like the plywood ones and those with plastic parts. I tried a mendini mv400 and though it didn't do what I needed, it was well built and used the right materials.
Yeah I remember when I first learned vibrato, it was hard as hell. Lol, I haven’t played in a while and I’m trying to get back into it, but once you do it it’s so satisfying.
I loved your video this was so helpful! I have been trying to decide between this violin, the Mendini MV300, or the Cecilio CNV300. I think I will go with this one. 😃
Obviously the more you spend the better violin you will get. I would suggest to go on sharmusic website and look for violin outfit they have some nice choices over there. For $500 you can get quite nice student violin.
With how great you played this $100 violin I have to get one lmao. I already have years of musical experience so it shouldn't be to hard to get started.
This has even a better price today July of 2021 it's now $79 for this and they have one that's considered used for $70. I enjoyed your review of this violin.
I have one from the same brand. Cost me less, same setup except only one bow and a matt finish also from Amazon. I am by far not an expert but I think it’s quite decent for the price. The bow could be a bit better because it looks a little unevenly strung, but it does the job well. When I play of course it sounds a bit scratchy now, especially the e string because I've never played before I got this violin. But my husband is a guitarist and he set it up for me, put up the bridge etc. I’m happy with it. Trying to practice a bit every day.
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the violin- I know how to play the piano, and a little bit of the guitar, but the violin has always been a sort of wall I’m scared to try to cross. Imma take the plunge and buy this, and hopefully self-tutoring will work just like it has for piano so far 😅
I’ve been playing for almost 9 years, I started off on a 200 dollar Chinese violin that was crap and my family is poor so I upgraded to a Carlo lamberti sonata violin about 5 years ago and since then, I haven’t gotten a new one because I’m 18 in college still working on other expenses and let me just say , on camera this violin sounds better than the one I currently have LOL.
Such a wonderful review! My husband just purchased this violin for me on valentines day and I found your review and my goodness, what is the name of that first tune you played at 13:31? You played it so beautifully, I was almost brought to tears. Thank you for the wonderful review! I'm excited to set up my violin now!
a good player on a bad violin will always sound better than a bad player on the best violin. a violin at this price will help people PRACTICE and that's what really matters at first
If you JUST STARTED playing violin then this is a perfect choice. if you are intermediate DON'T BUY this because you will feel that you are not improving, it's better to buy a very good one so you don't feel frustrated because sometimes things that don't have a wide range will limit your learning.

This is true, I'm a very beginner and my $90.00 Amazon violin is wonderful...BUT if I ever really got into it I would of course upgrade (if I could afford to 😊) to something better. I actually wish Amazon and this video were around 19 years ago when we had to rent my 10 year old son's first violin because we simply couldn't afford anything over $100.00.
I JUST BOUGHT A SMALL VIOLIN ON AMAZON AND I NOTICE THE BOW HAIR IS NOT STRONG AND I WAS WONDERING IF THE BOW SUPPOSED TO BE . First time violin 🎻 learner can’t wait to learn
Ciao, posseggo un violino identico a quello che hai presentato, oltre cambiare le corde potrebbe essere utile cambiare il ponticello per migliorare il suono ? Grazie e complimenti
I was wondering if you know what height the bridge is on the EVA 330? Is it low, medium or high? I need a better bridge but because of lockdown, I can't get to a music shop or violin maker. I'll have to order it online. What beginner bow would you suggest? Both of my bows are quite bottom heavy. Thank you for your time and for the videos you make.
wow it so amazing. Dolphin Stradivari or a La Pucelle Stradivari at the basement bargain price of just $100.00 folks. Get them while you can, supplies are limited. Chance of a lifetime. Gimme 3 of them.
Greetings from Canada! I always wanted to try the Violin....but was on the fence. Your review video pushed me off the fence....and I ordered the same just now. It's about CAD150 with tax. Let me see how it goes. Thank you!
I have something very similar, yes the pegs can slip and go out of tune, you have to push the peg in while turning to make sure it stays. One of my pegs is pretty touchy, I've read to take the string off and rub the peg with rosin then put everything back the rosin should help keep the peg tightened. I'm going to try it later today if it pops out again.
I actually got a mendini violin quite recently. I’m dedicated to learning so I’ll do my best to get better and better. You’re pretty skilled at the instrument yourself!
HI! Great review. What do you you think of the Aileen violin from amazon? I am not able to buy the one you are reviewing, unfortunately, so I was looking at this one instead. I mainly need one for checking things while writing music, not planning to become a great player.
Let me start by saying, thank you for this fantastic review. I know nothing about violins, never even picked one up in my 1/2 century of being on this earth. Still, I'm interested in it. Although, I'd love to only have to spend $100, I understand you need good tools for any trade. With that said, how do you think this would compare with the Kennedy Pupil? Do you think the Kennedy pupil is worth the extra cost? Are there any other beginner violins you might recommend? Thank you.
You have a lovely sound with a beautiful vibrato that is more musical than 90% of other online teachers. Secondly, it is simply not true that a "good" player can make any old rubbish violin sound great. If the core sound is boxy, thin, shrill, nasal or tinny, there is not much anyone can do no matter their skill. But good players can make a decent instrument sound even better. In this case I was amazed at how balanced this fiddle is. The G string is pretty good for a cheap violin and the E string is also bright without being tinny. It's better than all the fiddles I have heard under $200. Maybe you got lucky with this one example. Shame it looks so horrible!! Your playing is excellent. Thank you.
Any professional violin player can make cheap violin sound well. However, the hidden different (this review does not tell) between cheap and expensive violins are accurate measurements on every parts of the violins. I brought suzuki violine $400 and Cecilia CVN-200 $150, the different is not the sound, but how easy to play. You will think Cecilia will have correct measurements on all the parts, since they alsk sell high-end products cost $800+, but I was wrong. They can't even get correct measurements for fingerboard, the result is CVN 200 is really hard to play at E string (too high, too tight, hurt finger). I will not notice this if I have not compare with Suzuki violin. So what we really want to see innthe review (other than sound) is "are all the measurements correct?) Also, for all the people, who only tried or brought violin around $100, I am highly suggest you at least go to violin shop and try violins in $200-500 range. You may able to find what you have been missing.
Of course the more you spend the better violin you get. My point is that this violin is a good entry level violin. Many times people don’t want to spend big money right away. I would love my students or their parents to have a $500-1000 budget to buy their first violin, unfortunately that is not the case.
When my son first started playing violin (in 6th grade, he is now 29) we rented a violin because we simply couldn't afford anything over $100.00 as we were on a strict budget and basically poor. IF Amazon had been around back then and this video was around then we would have gotten him this violin. Parents do not or cannot spend hundreds on a 6-12 year old who may lose interest in a month. 😂 I have almost this very violin (mine was $90.00 on Amazon its all I could afford right now)...for my first violin (I'm 57 👍🏻) and it's wonderful for a beginner who may or may not decide to go on with violin to test the waters, I can't drop $300 or above on something I may not even like in a few months.
I learned when I started to play the violin that the bow makes all the difference in the world along with the strings. one bow, i think is made of carbon fiber/fiber glass, not sure.. and I have a brazil wood bow..the brazil wood makes a brighter and a bit scratcher sound and the carbon fiber/fiber glass bow makes a warmer cleaner sound. I like the warmer cleaner sounding bow so I use that more often. I am going to be getting a new bow soon..I want a carbon fiber weave bow..any how..it is true regarding bows..they make a big difference..I also have tonica strings.
$100 Carbon fiber bow will be a much better quality than brazil wood bow at the same price. Wooden bows are amazing but you will have to spend close to a 1k to get a really nice bow. As far as the strings go I would suggest to try Dominant those are much better than Tonica in my opinion.
@@Violinista thank you for your advice but I can't afford dominance right now. I have heard fiddlerman violin strings sound a lot like dominance so I may try that. Fiddlershop had a carbon fiber weave bow for $87 and that is what I am looking for. the brown version is very pretty and looks like a wooden bow. I can't wait til Christmas when I can purchase that bow.
I’m considering buying this brand based on your review but I need the 1/4 size for my kid. I know the quality varies with smaller sizes but I was wondering if you or any of your students have tried that size eastar violin?
The absolutely first thing I saw when you opened the case was that bare wood in the peg holes. None of the pegs were fitted correctly. None of them go in far enough.
Nice review, much better than that snobby youtuber violinist who "tested" his $100 violin by putting it under truck tire and running it over for "durability" test.
So the company who make this product asked you to review this violin ? Did you get commission for every instrument you managed to sell as a result of this video ? You don’t mention this. There’s so much fawning over this instrument that I could tell immediately that this wasn’t an independent review. If this is all someone can afford to pay then fair enough, but any beginner looking to play seriously should rent a really good quality instrument if price is an issue. There is so much wrong with this one.

Please tell me where is violin come from ? How much the price of violin for professtioner ?
Let me start by saying, thank you for this fantastic review.
I know nothing about violins, never even picked one up in my 1/2 century of being on this earth. Still, I'm interested in it.
Although, I'd love to only have to spend $100, I understand you need good tools for any trade.
With that said, how do you think this would compare with the Kennedy Pupil? Do you think the Kennedy pupil is worth the extra cost? Are there any other beginner violins you might recommend?
Thank you.
I didn’t try Kennedy pupil so I can’t not give you my opinion.
Can u help me decide what budget violin
wow you make it sound amazing!
Thank you
You make it sound lovely.
Thanks for this
It sounds good enough for students comparing for the price .
Thank you.
I would definitely put better strings on this violin but, it’s great for a very beginner
Was it you that made it sound so good ?
I have almost this very violin (mine was $90.00 on Amazon its all I could afford right now)...for my first violin (I'm 57 👍🏻) and it's wonderful for a beginner who may or may not decide to go on with violin to test the waters, I can't drop $300 or above on something I may not even like in a few months.
im planning to buy this violin! i hope it will be worth it.
Hi iam from india, tamilnadu..is so amazing review good job buddy you violin playing is so nice
Thank you
Would you recommend this for a complete beginner? I’m looking for a decent/good sounding violin that’s fairly cheap.
You can try this violin
Eastar looks like making various instruments (mainly strings) of good quality but low price.
I got a $60 Easter violin from Amazon, it was junk
Same, the strings are trash, try taking it to a good rated shop and get new strings and a new bow, it helps
Very well , thank you
You may have mentioned this already but are you using the original strings it came with or did you change them??
Original

No I haven’t.
The absolutely first thing I saw when you opened the case was that bare wood in the peg holes. None of the pegs were fitted correctly. None of them go in far enough.
It’s an inexpensive violin. Of course is far from perfect but great a start up violin
I have the Eastar Eva 330. The pegs go in far enough on mine.
Who fit the bridge???
a comparison of these bows vs your Satori, please?
Does the violin bridge have string markings on the bridge when it comes in?
Yes
what is the brand?
Thank you 🙏
Your welcome
I'm actually a Filipino but how much is 2,090 in your country?
Here from prime day deals 👀
Where is the different between the ester eva 1, ester eva 2, ester eva 3 and ester eva330?
Check with the company, I don’t work for them, didn’t try other violins.
Awesome I can’t wait to give my wife this violin for her birthday 🥳 she will love to learn!
Beautiful 😍😍❤️
Thank you 😊
can you recommend me a good violin for beginner under 200? please :( with good sound
look at the franz hoffman line on shar music they're actually set up and they sound good.
Damn 😍 incredible sound for this price, did you change the strings before to play it?
(Ps : what is the piece at 14:10? Thanks 😊)
No I did not change the strings. Those are the one that came with the violin. The piece you hear is Elgar’s Salut D’Amour.
Nice review, much better than that snobby youtuber violinist who "tested" his $100 violin by putting it under truck tire and running it over for "durability" test.
This violin is now $83!
Great!
What's the name on in on amazon?
There is a Link in the description box that was provided to me.
This was a shocker to me, on several levels.

Nice
My grallfrand has a lot of money 💰 🤑 so I'm going to ask her if she can get me one
May I ask is English your first language ? Not in a rude way if it sounds rude sorry
No it’s not
lol I just saw a violin on Amazon for 10$ and its 4/2 stars
For a $100 to learn to play the violin, ok.👌
So the company who make this product asked you to review this violin ? Did you get commission for every instrument you managed to sell as a result of this video ? You don’t mention this. There’s so much fawning over this instrument that I could tell immediately that this wasn’t an independent review. If this is all someone can afford to pay then fair enough, but any beginner looking to play seriously should rent a really good quality instrument if price is an issue. There is so much wrong with this one.
True that. If she was given the violin, this isn’t a review, it’s an ad. If it was on loan, that’s different.
Tysm for posting this!!!!!
Jesus loves you!! Were in the last days Jesus is coming he's the way the truth and the life. Dont trust the covid vaccine it's got 666 written allll over it, litterally
Edit:tysm!! I actually want to save up my money and get one! Thanks to this review. First I'm going to do more research about violins but I really think I might get this violin! If its Gods will, I will!! Tysm for this review! It reallllly helped me! Ty! And I have to research what I should do because I'm left handed lol!
