This is literally the perfect Commander Channel. The variety and length of videos. The focus on gameplay. (Rather than some who most of the video is only the players and you can't see the gameplay.) You're awesome Middstah!
This was a really exciting game. Every deck got to do their thing with a healthy dose of interaction from all, and Descent into Avernus did a ton of work, I must say. I also was really impressed by Lord of Pain and will definitely be building it.
I have a mono blue voltron deck with Charix the Raging Isle that I'm really seriously considering switching over to The Mindskinner, and this game might have just convinced me to do it. It gets around the typical Voltron feel bad of wiping one player out early, and it still lets me attack with a big creature, which is what I want anyway. Seems like a win-win.
The spell at the end wouldn't have helped... The Lord of Pain has lifelink, so Davy would've regained the life at the same time as she took the damage, so she'd still be at 3 life.
All the gameplay I've seen of the mindskinner has its player going down first, even if there's a much bigger threat on the table (the Lord of Pain player here) lol.
@@MTGMuddstah I want to start soon! I've been held back by a lot of anxiety & also my car eating it. But I just purchased a new Mazda and will be back on the road next week; hilariously, with a Jolly Balloon Man with a lot of what you had here, only I sort out Siege Gang Lieutenant & Siege gang Commander in it. I'm also on month 4 of anxiety medication that's been working wonders so I feel like it's almost time
Man, seeing Lord of Pain used properly really shows how punishing it can be. (I'm adding it to my Group Hug [Optional] deck, where if my opponent triggers an ability to deal damage, I let said opponent choose where, besides me, damage goes)
Can you send a link? I was wanting to put something like that together to teach some people about threat assessment but i ran out of ideas after about 5 cards lol
At 10:20ish, Bevers could have had the visionaries blow up the Mindskinner, because it's an enchantment creature. Can't wait to see more people forget this lol
For shard copies for the Niko deck. Aren't copies still effected by summoning sickness? So right when you make copies i thought they aren't able to attack unless they have haste
wait wouldn't soltari visionary been able to blow up Commanders Mechanic Commander? isn't the Mindskinner an enchantment? Granted I don't think it would have change the game that much if thats the case. Other than that, its was fun game to watch
Love this gameplay and I have a similar deck to Lord of Pain. Descent into Avernus really needs a synergy piece to avoid it being a benefit to your opponents. Mayhem Devil and Sardian Avenger are both great options.
Im definitely more blink focused in my version so far but Skybind is the perfect card for a Niko deck allowing you to blink Niko multiple times per turn cycle along with anything else you want and giving you just so many shards when you get back to your turn! Also I do believe the "j" in Ojer is pronounced as an "h", more like O'Hare
While I get that these are other content creators and you want to give them face time, the reason I like this channel is its simplicity - I don’t want the personal interactions just gameplay and chill music with awesome narration. Please let videos like this be the exception not the rule.
I went through the video quick fast forwarding just to see what you could possibly mean and I think there is a combined 15 seconds of time showing the actual players. This comment is wild.
Teferi's protection doesn't phase you out, only your permanents, so your library and hand still exist and can still be impacted with global effects since you cannot be targeted due to the protection from everything.

I've also been loving the return to the more casual roots of the channel over the last 2 years.
What a great game! Thanks for having us on!
It's great to see faces :)

Hey I know them!
*goblin voice* hello!
@@davyfjones Cheese head voice "hi"
I noticed several cards played in the Mindskinner deck that aren't listed in the Moxfield deck.
Chris has been tweaking it, so the deck is likely outdated compared to what is online.
Lord of Pain double-dipped on Momentary Blink 12:58 and Path to Exile 13:25
3:49 “What’s the matter, Andy? Don’t you like Plains?!”
hey Muddstah, your commander videos are the best as always, just raw gameplay without showing people talking and talking and talking.

Yep! We talked about this in the room after the game was over there was no stopping the pain train...

I've got a few others with it (and I am debating on building my own). The card is DECEPTIVELY strong.
What an amazing crew of people!
Nice game. Commander Mechanic its a great channel.
Thanks for this gameplays. Very nice content.
As a fellow Ottawa arean of the same age group; every time you said Mr.B, I IMMEDIATELY thought of Mr Butlertron & I feel that wasn't an accident.
Oh nice! Do you play at any shops?
I should probably get a red sweater vest to just drive home that point...

@@MrBevers 🤣 take my like & sub, Wesley.
Damn all of these lists were sweet. I might have to build Lord of Pain as my group slug deck
It is so good.
Doooo it!!!!

What a fun game! Jolly Balloon Man continues to put in work as a legend which I knew when it was spoiled would be good but damn. Its *really* good.

Oh dang! It would totally have blown it up and I would have done it too if I even knew it was an enchantment, #BlameChris (@CommanderMechanic).

You should pick up a hellrider for the jolly balloon man, seems like it would be nuts in that deck.
Good suggestion!

Just realized The Jolly Balloon Man is, mechanically, a dark reflection of Niko... maybe.
I love this Channel.
Would love to see a Match with Zask :)
my brain malfunctioned and kept thinking commander mechanic is a card lol
Cabal Coffers mentionned!!!
It was a heckin fun game!
I loved these games love this set. Said i wont build eny more decks but might change
Mondrak and Ojer Taq should be making you way more treasures every time Avernus triggered
Ojer Taq only triples creature tokens. Mondrak would double the treasures, though.
@@seanhatfield8829 Aw crap, I forgot it only does creature tokens
Doesn’t lord of pain trigger off every players first spell? Were they missing triggers?
Nice, cool pod and lists
Would have sacced ojer to alter to have it come back as a land that can come back rather than exile it for a land.
11:45 Wouldn't the Nico player not have to mill since they were phased out? Great gameplay btw!

that mindskiner is mean
The lord of pain is seriously impressive.
Damn! lifelink in the lord of pain is a real menace
