Honestly Sortedfood videos are highlights of my week. I know Sunday and Wednesday I have a fun entertaining video waiting for me when I get home from work. It's so strange to think back to the first sorted videos I saw years and years ago back with Tom in them. It's been a long strange journey. I love cooking and baking and Sorted has brought me information and inspiration to challenge myself. I've cooked for friends recovering from health issues using Sorted recipes. I've fed my family with you and even transferred some of my skills to the large scale free community dinner I'm a part of. It takes a lot of inspiration to work on feeding over a hundred people a month in one day. Sorted has been a part of that.
    It's been a great ride.
As for my interest in this convo, I love the talk about how you manage sponsored videos and colabs. Of all #sponsored content out there everything on Sorted has felt natural and relevant. It's not like you promoting or being sponsored by irrelevant things. It's clear your decisions on this revenue stream have been thoughtful and audience driven.
Thanks to everyone at Sortedfood for all the dedication and engagement. You're making the future of content creation and online advertising better for your leading example.

What a lovely interview! Ben is even more eloquent here than he is on the show. Bravo to Barry’s Dad for being so supportive. It’s so awesome to have someone who says “go for it!”
Sorted is not just a food channel but a comedy channel, a relationship channel, a science channel, and a travel channel. It’s so rich and well rounded that it’s one of the only channels that I consider to be “appointment” TH-cam. Even when it’s a sponsored video, the viewer never feels like they’re “being sold to.” Sorted weaves their sponsorships into their education seamlessly, and it’s a joy.
...and it’s been lovely to learn more about each of the players input and personality.

SORTED will eventually become a standard case study on how to build a brand - and what it means to surround yourself with talented and passionate people to lurch forward. Fantastic inserts as well!
It reminds me of watching Mythbusters from the start - watching the team coalesce and learn how to tell stories while the rest of the world gets onboard.
I also love hearing that Barry's dad was that big push to full-time.

I like how they slowly improve at cooking over time. In the old videos, all of the guys except Ben can barely cook. The three guys are always just behind Ben cooking and asking questions. But now they even face off against Ben or James and sometimes they win!

I’ve watched Sortedfood for about 8 years. The community is the whole reason I love them! They bring up interesting conversations about food. A great example of that is when Ben went and learned about PGI Welsh Lamb. I am in college and Sorted is a big part of the reason I make meals from scratch.

Ben's comparison of FridgeCam to the Door to Narnia spoke volumes to how community oriented their content is. The chemistry between all of them as well as their natural manner of conversation with the audience is what keeps me coming back on high and low days. SORTEDfood is home to me. :)

I love SortedFood a lot. They are consistently amazing and I learn new things every time they upload. Mike's science videos are the greatest! (and it makes total sense he was a teacher before Sorted, I didn't know that!). I like what Ben says that they are constantly changing the food but food is always constant. Which is a very nice way to put into perspective that food is a common thread between all kinds of communities and is an objectively good thing in society and culture.

I’m so glad that TH-cam kept giving me an ad to one of Sortedfood’s video they made for Tastemade’s channel. At first I continuously clicked the skip button but at one point I decided to watch the entire ad and it was the best decision I have ever made! They taught me that a recipe is just a guide and I have the freedom to make changes which can lead to all sorts of flavour combinations.

I’ve been a SortedFood fan/fam/viewer/community member for many years already. I came here because Ben posted a link in his Instagram bio, and when I started watching this video this morning, there were 200ish views. I came back many hours later to finish watching and there are over 2k views! Just shows how engaged SortedFood people are. Jenny is a truly wonderful interviewer and it was a pleasure to listen/watch, edits were a cute addition.
I loved that Ben spoke in the plural throughout the episode, almost exclusively and totally naturally. Shows the uniqueness of their approach and yet another example of something SortedFood does “unconventionally” with the intention of maximizing community and interaction!

Love Sorted - have followed them since the early days. When I first watched I was vegetarian, and have since moved to being vegan but still watched all their videos - if I really like the sound of something I'll try and 'veganise' it, otherwise I just enjoy watching. Never knew Mike was a teacher but suddenly everything makes sense - I always prefer to watch him and Ben cooking as they're able to explain everything a bit better than the others :)

  • @JVerschueren

Ben spray painting the camera reminded me of a story I came accross at my previous job.
Part of it was selling Tektronix measuring equipment and they, at the time (mid to late 90's), had a pretty good portable oscilloscope (the THS7xx series). One of its features was the capability to be controlled/configured via a null-modem serial link and send "a capture" to a computer over that same link.
So GM got a hold of a fair few of those and decided to use a couple to monitor sensors in their robotic spray painting lines. Due to them being battery operated and having isolated channel architecture, they were a perfect fit for a process involving static electricity.
They'd only get slightly misted with paint every cycle, but multiply this by the amount of cars GM produces and you can imagine they simply got caked with paint over time, rendering them useless for anything but remote operation. Cue a clumsy employee tasked with periodically recharging the scope's batteries: dropped it, knocked off a BNC connector.
So the unit gets sent into Tektronix, out of warranty, with the request to change out the connector board. Now, imagine you're the tech who received this scope. I mean, from your perspective, the thing is ruined, being completely painted over several dozens of times. So, discussions back and forth; executive decision (GM is a big customer): let's just replace it and only charge for the repair.
So engineers at GM simply got back a brand new portable oscilloscope, upon which they sent an e-mail back to Tektronix tech support asking if there was really no way Tektronix would fix the scope which they had sent in, as they had "willingly" sacrificed it in order to do what they did.
This, imo., typifies engineers and how we relate to other highly skilled professions, like professional cooking.

One of the best thing their platform gives is source of all types of foods; ethically sourced, fair wage for those producing items, new types of protein or cost conscious alternatives. All that have really opened my mind and changed my ideas of how and what to eat - quite a change at 60 plus.

I loved the talk about the wedding, I remember watching that video shortly after it came out. I follow Binging with Babish too and he's started a series about similar stuff, those small moments where someone who's created this community can use the resources they've gathered to give back to some of the exceptional people who made them who they are. Hearing Ben show respect and amazement for being allowed to be part of someone's life like that, and hearing just how zealously they threw themselves into the event was wonderful.

Sorted Food is amazing. Love it and have watched pretty much everything they've done over the years.
I love Ben's subtle innuendos that can sometimes be easily missed.
I love Mike's sense of humor and the ideas he brings in.
I love Jamie's talent of "F"ing up but still kind of getting away with it.
I love how you sometimes cannot tell what Barry is saying.
I love James's way of thinking with food. Joy to watch.
And it is so true that the friendship brings so much to the table. It's real and fun and we feel it at home watching these videos and enjoy the food even more because of it.

I just started watching Sortedfood just this past year. It gave me the courage to try new foods, and meal ideas where I would have others visit for dinner parties. They showed me to have some fun with cooking, and their videos gave me ideas to have fun with family, and friends. Possibly trying a shock collar challenge once or twice slightly drunk with friends. The stories have gotten around work of the dinner parties where someone told a friend of mine they hoped to get invited sometime because it sounded like fun. Now we have another friend to join us. Simply Put Ebbers, and Sorted made me more outgoing, and it has created great memories for me, friends, and family.

I think the point made about leading people out of their comfort zone or food rut was really good. I think finding a random recipe online or in a cookbook can be intimidating, especially when it includes a method or ingredient that is completely outside of your norm (the first thing that comes to my mind is boiled orange and olive oil muffins). Seeing someone do it first, seeing the mouthwatering results at the end, is a great motivator to experimenting and honing that skill.

Love this! Watched Sorted almost from the beginning. They are amazing and have gotten this senior citizen enjoying food more. Keep'em coming! Also happy to find a new channel to watch. Now subscribed to Digital Voices.

Thank you guys for teaching a generation how to cook again. I was not raised with scratch cooking and have learned cooking from you guys. It has become my passion and has had many other benefits.
I like Ben talking about the team's partnership with Kenwood and a defining moment having their 'grown-up' team putting faith into the Sorted team.

It's interesting to note that whatever medium Sorted chooses to present through...they always promote food as a means of connection for them personally and for the rest of the Sorted fam. I would love to see a video about the evolution of food!!!

I discovered Sorted in 2018 after I lost my job and was totally depressed. Thanks for the help getting through that, guys.
Quesadillas were a big staple of my diet back then, Ben.

When my husband showed me Sortedfood for the first time I hated Ben. Now I just love him and the whole channel. Thanks for doing that.
    I loved the interview.

Can I just say, I have been a Sorted fan boy for a couple of years, and actually just bought some Kenwood stuff almost directly because of the fact that I saw the brand in their videos.
It’s interesting to see how the trickle down effects of a few friends has impacted on even my life in Australia

Great interview, and interviewer, if I may say, and I learned a lot about the gents of Sorted food. I love the antics and bantering on the show; boys will be boys, and it's what initially drew me to watch the channel but through all of that, the food is the focus as it should be. I'm no chef but I'm a foodie at heart and appreciate what they're trying to bring to the table...no pun intended. Don't you love double entendres! Thanks Ben and Jennifer for presenting a side of Sorted we don't generally see in the Sorted videos. Best and cheers!!

I found the anecdote about the wedding and the barfi (sp?) really interesting. My husband is a huge fan and has been following the guys for years whereas I've only been watching just over a year - and one of the few foodie channels I follow and watch each update religiously as I love the dynamic between the guys as well as the content! Cheers SORTED!

One of Many interesting comments #BenBear made is "The Beauty of TH-cam Analytics is You can see Everything" , and the explanation that followed. Nice to know that My Many Views of different Sorted videos way over in Michigan, US , is noticed by the Sorted People. The humor and camaraderie along with the food is what keeps drawing Me back for another Serving of Sorted.

SortedFood has inspired me so much, I’ve changed recipes I’ve used for years and I loved the different week subjects they used to do. Probably the best in my opinion was the ‘Dorks With Forks’ week as it’s inspired me to write a 5000 word project with my Sixth Form on the Science of Food

I've been following Sorted for some time now and they've told some really entertaining stories from their beginnings... But the shed of a friend of a friend as a studio? That's hilarious and incredibly inspiring at the same time, considering how it all started and where they are now!

Sortedfood is the best channel out there!! It's such a great community, people are always so nice in the comment section and the five guys (Barry, Ben, James, Jamie and Mike) are just hilarious. They constantly push themselves forward and I appreciate that! 😊

That is possibly the best marketing idea I’ve heard in awhile. Given I’m in their age group that would make sense that it would work for me but still really smart.

Some of the Kentwood videos are my favorites. They are sponsored, but also give us tutorials with very common kitchen appliances and information on recipes...so great
