Thanks Andrew! I love the occasional Pinkbike shreddit of the pros, but I enjoy making videos of what the other 99% of us ride.... trails!! Love that you agree man, glad that you enjoy the videos.
For sure! I love watching DH as well, but youtube is pretty saturated with content. These videos are gems, makes me want to head out west and ride. We don't have this kind of terrain in PA
I live in Pittsburgh and we do have some great riding in and around the city. "east coast singletrack" lots of roots and rocks and hard packed dirt. You can find everything from flowing fast trails to technical systems with endless rock gardens. The riding is great here, its just hard to compare to the majestic backdrops and epic rides I see out west.
Some day I'm heading out though. I've got family in Denver and in Montana, plus some friends in northern Cali. When money and time are somewhat more available it's going to be a top priority!
BKXC once in a while I come back here and imagine myself being behind Alex.. Following him. Suddenly a voice comes from behind saying "fuck fuck... Grabbed my handlebars again.. Shit" -it was Brian
Seeing this reminded me of what my doctor said when I injured my shoulder. "You probably have injured this shoulder many times in the past, this was just the one where it finally had enough." At that point a bunch of mountain bike and motorcycle crashes filled my memory! Hope the shoulder is doing good, especially after the spill in the keys!
Thanks man, I appreciate that! I'm just gonna keep doing my thing, and I hopefully more and more people will enjoy it. The 'ole "you build it and they will come" theory lol
Wow, Alex! This is such a great video. Fun, lots of features, and we can feel just how stoked you were by riding it! You ride with such enthusiasm; it's incredibly contagious. I feel like leaving work and riding right now, LOL. The Pocahontas quotes were hilarious! That fall, with the tumble, went as well as it could have! What happened? From what I could see it looked like you were doing a manual and came down on the foliage, which then caught your bike and yanked it sideways. Man, I hope your recovery goes faster than expected. I miss seeing new MTB content from you. Big hug, and good luck with the rest of the bikepacking trip!
hey thanks man, I love that you appreciate those Disney quotes! It was hard to see in that crash, but there was a cut log down off to the right side of the trail, so when I exited the manual my pedal caught it and just ejected me from the bike. I was pretty lucky that I stayed on the trail at that speed. thanks for the kind words, I'm doing my best to rehab quickly and get back on the mtb!!! Cheers :D
You are right, I don't give enough credit to the machine that affords me all of this fun... but you better believe I love this bike!! I couldn't agree more - I opted out of the carbon model for the top end aluminum because the price point was just so perfect.
Alex - I will be out in Salida this weekend and want to do what you and Brian did one of those days where you ride Monarch to Green's then Fooses. That looks amazing. Trying to decide what to ride the following day. Do you have any favorite other trail suggestions/routes for me in Salida area?
dude you are so crazy hahaha! great video, love it and already subscribed im kind of jealous, i've never been in a trail full of singletracks like this one xD
Absolutely demolished!! It caught me so off guard. My pedal just grabbed on that cut log on the side of the trail and stopped my bike instantly - sending me just flying! lol I was pretty lucky I think.
The Singletrack Sampler I'm subscribed to Seth's bike hack which led me to BKXC and I remember seeing you ride with him but I didn't know you GoPro'd your rides too until I saw the clip in GMBN so that led me to searching for your channel. It took some work but after seeing that clip I had to watch more! Your bike skills, commentary and just overall positive attitude is what really drew me towards your channel. I'm a fan now bro!
hey dude, that really kinda his the nail on the head with me. I'm just so passionate about riding, and I want to share that passion with people like you. Anytime I'm riding with a group, it's a party on the trail! 🍻🤘🚵🎉
Yo yo, welcome to the channel and HUGE SHOUT OUT to all my BKXC boys (and ladies?)!!!! I can't wait for you guys to see our videos from the Monarch Crest together; they are so amazing.
Yo what's up Robert! I spent a summer over in your beautiful country a few years ago right down in Malaga where there is tons of great riding. Unfortunately I didn't have my bike with me... :(
wow man, for a moment i thought To be on a hoverbike from star wars lol. you're so fast !! Nice vid, Think gimball with mtb vid is awesome. hi from italy
it's cool this thing. You post vid And everyone Can interact with You worldwide. trails here are amazin.i'd need more time To ride Them. cheers man. i sub To tour Channel after BK shoutout
Thanks! I use a Gopro Hero 4 Silver with a 3 axis gimbal attached to a chesty mount to film and then splice it together with all the best bits and commentary using the GoPro software (pretty basic, but efficient!)
Flow state achieved, thanks dude! Can you believe it actually didn't?! Full flip straight to my arss and not a single thing broke on me, my bike, or my camera..... I swear this is one of only a few I get in a lifetime.
lol I also Love every Rock, tree, and Creature. I need a Do it all Fullsus! I Love my Steely Aggressive Hard tail but Pinch Flats are happening to often, may be at the Lest I'll Upgrade to Tubeless.. Shred On!!
I like it a lot. Super rowdy on the downs, and OK on the climbs. It definitely comes alive when it is going fast, and is kinda sluggish when going slowly
U should star a or map out some of the routes u take or series of routes u take cuz I think a lot of people would be interested in doing similar ones on like trips
That sux, as long as you're ok. I have seen you ride these types of trails before and always thought a cut tree would cause that kind of problem. You, Brian & Seth ride some dangerous trails, have me on the edge of my seat. I'm about to be 70 years old and just bought an XL Specialized Pitch. Have made a couple of mods so far. Want to get a better front fork, any ideas for about $300? Keep rippin' it, man...
They got me on the edge too a lot of times lol That's so damn cool that you are out riding dude. I can't say I do know much about the cost of individual forks to be honest. I bet if you do a little research on pinkbike though you will be able to get an answer. Shred on my friend!
Just watching this to GET STOKED to go ride my local trails! Dude I hope your shoulder heals as fast as your subs are growing! Almost 9k hell yeah!
Super stoked to see some one just ride "GNARLY". Manualing, hopping, jumping and shredding. Super sick keep it up!!
Thanks Ryan! That's kinda my style... don't know how to ride any other way!
Love Green's Creek, love the video! That trail can be a punisher, especially doing it as part of a 25mile loop. Great fun!
Absolutely wicked ! Your reactions are basically my reactions when I'm in the woods, though I haven't found any trail this fun !
Such a sick run dude. Entertaining as hell. You're killing it!
Thanks dude!! This is absolutely one of my favorite trails of all time.
watching this in 2017 waiting for the snow to melt so I can go ride this trail. Great video Alex
I was actually JUST talking to Brian about this trail yesterday lol 100% go ride it asap
Awesome... you're totally crazy ✌️😀 Love that! Keep on ridin'
You and BK-XC make the best mtb videos on youtube. It's great to see this kind of quality in non-DH riding. Keep it up and more subs will come!
Thanks Andrew! I love the occasional Pinkbike shreddit of the pros, but I enjoy making videos of what the other 99% of us ride.... trails!! Love that you agree man, glad that you enjoy the videos.

What's the riding like up there?

Mark my words, when you hit 100,000 subscribers you will get a tattoo of 5:15 "Life has a spirit, has a name, BRRRRRAP".
hahaha bring on the 100K!!! I feel like there needs to be a bicycle involved in the tat too.
still waiting for that tattoo
haha I just saw this.. love looking back at these comments. We've come so far 👊
Where it all began!!
BKXC once in a while I come back here and imagine myself being behind Alex.. Following him.
Suddenly a voice comes from behind saying "fuck fuck... Grabbed my handlebars again.. Shit" -it was Brian
Very nice ride. Good footage and great tumble. Glad you were ok.
Thanks dude! I stuck that landing in the best way possible
Seeing this reminded me of what my doctor said when I injured my shoulder. "You probably have injured this shoulder many times in the past, this was just the one where it finally had enough." At that point a bunch of mountain bike and motorcycle crashes filled my memory! Hope the shoulder is doing good, especially after the spill in the keys!
haha yea this is probably true as I can think of a few right away
Best opening clip EVER
you deserve way more subs
Cheers dude, I appreciate that! In time I hope, in time ;)
Seriously I was just wondering how he didn't have more. great video, keep them coming!
I've got a bunch of fun stuff in the pipeline, including a trip to Moab with BK-XC and Seth's bike hacks.

Found your thru Brian's channel. I have to agree that you deserve we more than this. Don't mind it too much and keep riding. Subbed 2 weeks ago. 😄👍
Thanks man, I appreciate that! I'm just gonna keep doing my thing, and I hopefully more and more people will enjoy it. The 'ole "you build it and they will come" theory lol

dude this was awesome
Man you gotta mention the enduro elite trail weapon and boom the views go up!!!! It's a lot of bike for the money !!!! Great footage !
You are right, I don't give enough credit to the machine that affords me all of this fun... but you better believe I love this bike!! I couldn't agree more - I opted out of the carbon model for the top end aluminum because the price point was just so perfect.
The most stylish bail on TH-cam! Haha
haha yeaaaa totalllyyyyy on purpose ;)
I hate to say it, but I think from semi-frequent crashing I'm getting better at it lol
Falling well is the dream, but if you're gonna hurt yourself at least make it look good!
Dude, right? That bail was insane. He did a perfect flip and didn't even hurt the gimbal attached to his chest...
INSANE! I don't know how anyone could keep up with you on the downhill when you reach flow...
Alex - I will be out in Salida this weekend and want to do what you and Brian did one of those days where you ride Monarch to Green's then Fooses. That looks amazing. Trying to decide what to ride the following day. Do you have any favorite other trail suggestions/routes for me in Salida area?

The Singletrack Sampler
I'm subscribed to Seth's bike hack which led me to BKXC and I remember seeing you ride with him but I didn't know you GoPro'd your rides too until I saw the clip in GMBN so that led me to searching for your channel. What's your camera setup/workflow? Great footage! Felt like I was floating.
Thanks!
I use a Gopro Hero 4 Silver with a 3 axis gimbal attached to a chesty mount to film and then splice it together with all the best bits and commentary using the GoPro software (pretty basic, but efficient!)
Whoa! That was intense. Trail looked amazing and you had killer flow. Nice work! Did the stabilizer take some damage from that fall?
Flow state achieved, thanks dude! Can you believe it actually didn't?! Full flip straight to my arss and not a single thing broke on me, my bike, or my camera..... I swear this is one of only a few I get in a lifetime.
Did you go over the bars at 0:15 sec in? Btw, sic vids, keep it up!
hahaha, just got to 10:41.... that is awesome. Glad you're ok! You wreck with much grace!
hahaha Thanks dude! I went straight OTB and did a full flip landing right onto my ass!!!

Tubeless rocks! (get it?) Shred on my friend
Will do buddy! First this Bum needs a part Time Job Save a Little then Trash it Like Last weeks Socks..
dude awesome front flip! how fast were you generally going? hard to tell on video.
hahaha than you! What would you rate my landing? I was really flying at that point, probably like 20-25mph!
Didn't quite stick the landing but I'll still give it 9 of 10. Ya that is hauling. I probably would have broke my arm or something lol
haha I've learned from trial and error how to fall with some sort of grace. It's a skill I'm happy to have, but definitely paid the price to learn
Going out to salida in August 2018. Any bike shops you like for top of the line bike rentals?
wow you are flying out there ....how that bike works for you , i was thinking buying same bike...
I like it a lot. Super rowdy on the downs, and OK on the climbs. It definitely comes alive when it is going fast, and is kinda sluggish when going slowly
awesome thanks ....
I can't believe I've lived in colorado for 8 years and never ridden here!
That's preposterous!

I like that idea!
Still your most epic crash :D
Have you ever ridden around a bend and confronted a bear in your path? Just curious.
This is the GMBN video Style Stacking .Reeespect

That sux, as long as you're ok. I have seen you ride these types of trails before and always thought a cut tree would cause that kind of problem.
