In the future, take a sheet of construction paper the size of your bed. In lightburn create a grid of squares slightly larger than the dimensions of the coaster. Place your design into each square. Turn off the output of the design and using low power etch the outlines of the squares, place a coaster centered in each square. Turn off the output of the outline Turn on the output of your design and etch 8, 12 at a time, whatever you can fit in your engraving area.

Thanks for this! I am still slowly learning all the tricks to using and maximizing a laser to its full abilities!

Adding two pegs to your sacrificial board would make the rinse and repeat process much quicker since all of your coasters are the same size. Great video. Nice work. A beginners guide to light burn would be a cool video. Thanks for the content!

I had thought of that, and even though they are all the same size, their is minor irregularities in the coaster, hence why I framed them all separately

Love the video. Very helpful in knowing the settings that you used for the engraving using a :Longer Ray 5 5W, I have the same but mine is a 10W. Do you suppose that it could do 2 in 25 min rather than just 1 because of the Wattage?

Thanks and possibly so! I now have the 20w Ray5 and it does these slate coasters way quicker

Nice job! Not sure about the high gloss but options are always nice! Another utuber showed how to create a low setting laser to create a visible working frame for centering materials....I have a 20w so you'll need to play around with settings but you create a frame around your project then in cuts and layers: change color, put in position 1, speed: 4000, power 2.8%, pass count 2-3 (so you have time to position). IMPORTANT: select output to ON, all others OFF! once centered then just reverse the output options
