Hey Pete! Hello from Japan. I lived in Australia for a year 10 years ago and found Aussie English really cool so I’ve been trying not to lose my Aussie accents. Your videos help me improve my accents even more and I really appreciate it. My favorite expression is “to go off like a frog in a sock” which I learnt from your video. Thanks again and I’m looking forward to more videos and stories on podcast.
Hello! I'm Italian and i have an Australian citizenship too ! So i'm even one of you, from the other side of the world 😀! I speak a good English but with an American accent, becouse i watch everytime video on internet and almost all video are from there, and i learned English by myself. These videos are very good, so i can learn the accent i should have in order to be a real Aussie 😂. Have a good day! 🇮🇹 🤝🏻 🇭🇲 👋🏻

Oi! G'day mate! I am goin through all your videos as I really enjoy this (U know?? I akchwally love straya!) so much info... I dont take them in order but I love these phrasal verbs and when you explain the best way to pronounce! aaaarrright??!! cheers m8! and thanks for sharing.
Hey Pete!, trying to learn from your video. Thank you for your wonderful channel. Can you upload a series of Australian Accents for beginners? I am facing overloaded information and difficult to catch tricks.
Hi Pete. Aussie English teacher here. I've noticed that Aussies use third conditional in a very strange way, particularly the older generation. They would say "if I had have gone to the shops, I would have bought bread" whereas the younger generation would say "if I went to the shops, I would have bought bread". Obviously, both versions are technically incorrect, yet quite prevalent in Australia. Perhaps you could talk about this in one of your videos? All the best mate.
Hello from Ukraine (well, not quite, already)! I always liked that “hit the roof” expression I first learned from my boss’ business partner, an American expat, a decade ago.
@@AussieEnglishPodcast "Knock yourself out" is a really curious expression, but I will choose "Get the drift", since is the most useful in daily life for someone conversing with English native speakers. Thanks, Pete! 😀🙏
In Brazil we have a funny expression similar to the 5th expression, that is used only when u r in a good momment, making progress in something, reaching goals, making money.... That is "to voando" In english it would be, literally "im flying"
After my mom came home last night, she knocked herself out because she kept doing housework. I tried to help her but it was just a drop in the ocean. She asked me to get out of her hair and I said I got her drift. I have to say I was on a roll last night.
Yun! have some Sandwich It won't make you gain some weight It is just a drop in the ocean. Can I drink this coffee? yea! just knock yourself out I just popped around here to check out if you're ok! I'll get out of your head soon :) If anyone here didn't get the drift, just let me know. She's been on a roll! she has won the lottery twice in a row
