I just got my S52 E30 swap running, after a whole engine refresh and getting the head done. Im glad youre taking the proper route and refreshing the engine. Once you finish this damn swap its going to be the most satisfying thing you have done haha. Swaps are so time consuming but the end products has to be one of the best feelings.
Nice bro! S52’s fit like a glove on E30’s.. Hopefully I can get this engine swapped in sooner than later!

It’s actually pretty big for an OEM turbo! But yes, bigger turbo soon!

I recommend getting kingawa turbo kit to keep it looking stock and make a custom intake to fit into the stock filter box also delete the maf by the ecu
Three more things battery to be in the trunk and abs relocated in the battery location using the jdm altezza abs bracket
And jf you could wire tuck to keep the bay clean that would be one awsome build
Also if ypu could relocate the ecu under the dash you will have a very clean engine bay where you can play with colors and make it sweet
At the end you will just pop the hood and admire the work 😍

It’s super fun but can also be stressful when putting it back together haha
are you going to clean the engine just to make it nice or just leave it since its going to get dirty anyways!?!? just asking since other people do that.
I’m going to clean it up and repaint some parts. Definitely not going in dirty!

1j head on your old 2j block. Find some non vvti ge rods and you’re good to go!
It’s a cool idea and would be a good option if one of the engines were damaged but at this point i’d rather save the hassle and use the 1J with stock internals

1.5’s are sick! At this point in time I don’t think itd be practical since this engine isn’t hurt so their is no need to swap a new block over!
