Everyone wants to see Ramy the Bombardier Ram Skidder so here is a good look before the roll cage transformation. My self reliance is not my goal, I use more modern self reliance techniques and equipment.
Love it , lot's of Kooth on your channel Ramy Mcskidface. Banana yellow winch brake Caliper is Epic Bamborgini Aventador Style , Would love to see a Bambo Skid some Logs and keep going on the 401.
I saw 10 of these with different attachments sittin in Roanoke va a couple of years ago in an American electric power storage lot they are all gone now.
She sure does look fast haha Never seen one of these before your videos, although i live in the state of Pennsylvania and not up in the great north. Very neat man. Get to choppin that bikes cage up!
Nice video, from previous research I made, the cage did have that shape so if it flip going down a hill it will go back on the tracks by itself. This machine is really incline to flip going down
I used to have 25 machines. 4 different models M-5 Muskeg Tractor. S-MODEL Muskeg Carrier. J-5 & one Bombi. All I have left is parts some S-models that could be restored. One M-5 I use for myself
I think yoou'll find not having some form of operator enclosure is hideously dangerous. That role cage looks stupid but It's better than nothing. It could be designed way better to give better visibility as well as protect the operator from front, sides, back and top. Engineer some kind of blade on the front to cantilever the skidding load and to role logs in the loading yard. Swap out the engine for a 4bt Cummins and maybe regeer the differential to a higher gear ratio so you get more than one beer in the creep range. Great video.
If that cable broke with all that tension on it with no protecting from the back of the cab it would take your head plum off I've had them break and hit the back of cable skidders hard as hell
Yea, that's way too good grounds for pine, over here in Sweden spruce was the option for converting farmlands a hundred years ago and now there's spruce everywhere in the southern half of the country. Impressive that they're even that tall and straight, pine on too good earth like agricultural land usually gets big problems with Cronartium fungus killing the trees over here.
Ramy will be an invaluable machine for milling those large pine. Love these vids Lou! cheers
I agree, I'll be pulling one out and seeing how long it takes me to debark it next week.

Dang-it Louie, you are making me really want to find an old Bombi to play with.
lol. everyone should have one!
Love this old stuff! Maybe a muffler on this one ey? Although it is already much quieter than the old skidder!

No doubt about it - gotta be pulling a hitch for steep declines.

@@rollingupmysleeves If you ever need some parts. Like backing plates. Track bolts kleets etc.
I used to work for a farmer when I was a teenager and he had one of them with a clam log loader on the back of it.
That’s a awesome piece of equipment 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦
