Flower time test for resin

  • ATTENTION: It has been brought to my notice that there is a typo with the measurements. It should read 60ML not 60CL. Sorry for the confusion.
    Hi I'm Wendy, a resin artist from the UK and in this video I'm experimenting with the flower effect technique in coaster moulds.
    I have made them before but didn't time the process. I thought this video would help me and you at the same time.
    I have put all the times on the screen for you to see the different effects and hope this helps you find your own way of making them.
    At the time of recording the temperature here was over 30C and therefore in colder weather the resin will need longer to have similar effects.
    I hope you enjoy the process. Epoxy resin art can be a very rewarding and also frustrating at times. I hope this video will inspire you to try it yourself.
    Comments and questions are always welcome.
    Thanks for watching.

      These days most flowers are done with temperatures I think 🤔 as each resin is so different.
      I dont do many flowers at all now 😂😂
      There are so many that do 👍😀

    Wendy, firstly welcome to TH-cam, you are so confident in front of the camera, you are going to go far. Secondly, your coasters are stunning! I learnt a lot from this video and I’m definitely going to colour my edges that way in the future. Your video was a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing your timing experiment and I will give you a shout out if I use that edge technique in one of my videos.

    I know this video is older, but you did timing. Check out Julie Cutts at Pouring Your Heart Out. Just for fun to see hers. She takes the temperature of the resin to 40c, then does her bloom. Perfect every time. Different resins go off at different times as you know. Timing won't be consistent. Just as a comparison.

    • @Toonpish
      @Toonpish  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Catherine.
      At the time of making this video Julia hadn’t mastered her blooms as she was still in the process of learning herself. You are right about the temperature and I use that method myself when casting large items.
