I just found out there is a recall for gear shift lever on Grand Vitara 2008-2013 might break. They replace it with new lever with better materials. I found out the hard way and it actually broke on mine. If you have this model contact your suzuki dealer, mine is currently at their shop for check on whether recall applies or not.
I can't because my Grand Vitara is a 1.9 ddis and they are different. I think I've come across such a video on TH-cam made by someone else, you just have to look for it.

Hello! Thanks! Mine is 1.9 ddis and my gear knob also slightly vibrates. I think this is normal for a diesel car.
How you unscrew knob mine won't come off, all I'm doing is twisting the whole shaft
