    Superb. Catching that big snapper off the sand on a winter's day must have felt so good. I'm too old for it now, but in days gone buy catches like that off the sand were just wonderful. And boy didn't both the snapper and kingi look fat and healthy! Great to see the successful releases, as always. We should have done that in the old days. Your videos bring back great memories. Keep it going .

      Thanks mate. And yeah the Snapper are surprisingly in great condition for this time of year. Good colour too when not encased in sand....lol. Cheers for the support!

    Stevie did very well to land that good king, it's a tight spot.

      Yeah was epic on 15kg mono. I think if the vis was better and the Kingi could see more it would have dusted him. Got close to the other side a few times.

    Bro do you ever use a pulley type rig off the sand?
    I’m just getting into surfcasting (always been a bricks guy) and trying different rigs.
    Just got some imp thingies and keen to try the pulley gig.

    • @DarkmoonAngler
      @DarkmoonAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those Snapper off the beach were on a pulley rig. I don't use the manufactured gismos, just add a length of cheap steel wire to a swivel and bend a hook in the end. The Rigs work very well in that you can cast a bait further and sets a long traced ledger rig with 2 snooded hooks well away from the sinker. I was casting whole big pipers out further than I can cast a standard ledger rig with small baits. The longer trace allows more movement of the bait in the water and further for the fish to run before engaging the weight of sinker.

    • @DarkmoonAngler
      @DarkmoonAngler  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hyper pe6 2 piece 9'6. great action. top rod. diawa. can get good casting distance with sizeable baits for stray lining snaps and strength in the base for anything larger

      I don't mind sharing, but others do, so out of respect to the locals of the area, I don't show how or where to access these places from. Discovering good spots for yourself is a big part of the adventure. Go explore, its fun.
