New Zealands first bait and tackle vending machine, kids helping put food on the table, and a dark moon phase produces some Monster Snappers from the dark depths of the Kaipara harbour.
Two PB's in a day for me, we get our good days fishing and bad days, this would be the best day I've had fishing with darkmoon and stevie, cheers boys we cracked it.
that vending machine system is sick as. seen it a lot in american videos but gr8 to see nz finally has one. u land big snaps so easily haha ive still yet to land a 10lber off the beach
Awesome video, loved the longline setup, mean sesh on the Kaipara! Where are those vending machines? Prices seemed pretty reasonable for the convenience...
Bloody hell those are some nice fish man, if you dont mind me asking what kind of rig do you guys use at that spot? Can be pretty strong current there if im guessing it correctly
We went through a few rigs on that day, but settled on a single circle hook ledger rig, with lighter line double uni knotted on to the end to hold the sinker. So if the sinker fouls, you still have a chance with rest of rig. If low on sinkers, can just tie on rocks....which we often end up doing.

Some wicked big dogs as expected from the title. Close call on that stingy too! Keep 'em coming man
close call alright! lol. cheers mate. hopefully those westerly winds ease off soon for ya.
Great spot. I only fished kaipara twice by land. Id love to know what area this is filmed. Great fish btw 👌
South head area
Nice fish boys! All the way from ahipara
Cheers mate. Tight lines!
some solid nice fish there, questions what line you guys using pulling these monsters?
2 of us were using 15kg mono, Perline and novax brands, but Mats two biggest came in on a 50lb braid set up. don't know what brand.
Some good size snapper worthwhile the 5k hike did use walk in from mosquitoes beach or Omokorito Bay Reserve? Tight lines .
mosquitoe but road closures more than doubled distance to walk at that time.
Kaipara always provides some big dogs
Big harbour... and big fish👍

@@DarkmoonAngler thanks bro, lead definitely gets expensive after a while haha
yeah sure does. I make my own though and Stevies a roofer, so he scores a bit of scrap lead now and then. saves on $.

Hey mate,
Did I see you had a video dropping a set of hooks off the back of a kayak? Like a contiki setup?
Yes did a bit on it four years ago. th-cam.com/video/l5miMuMbdrQ/w-d-xo.html and what footage is included in this video. No tutorial though
