When I thought Stage 3 was the Half part of the game, then saw this video, I tried not to cry, but I cried a lot. WHAT THE HELL, never beaten this as a child, so I tried playing it again now that I'm man that has beaten the Dark Souls series, and still &#*$)@# hard as S**T, Dark Souls series was like a tutorial game compared to this.
I think your the ONLY person who did a Speed Run/Perfect Run on Battletoads (NES). You have to be insane to even attempt it! But I guess you have to be a maniac to achieve it. Congrats!
simply amazing runs, i havent played battletoads myself, but after watching this video i can see what the fuss is about and would have no hesitation as listing it as one of the best games of all time
Thanks for letting me relive my own personal nightmare............... the game of battletoads! I don't know how many times the controller got thrown down in utter rage with this game. Level 3 almost sent me insane, however I am surprised how far I actually got. Its only taken me over 20 years to see how the game finished, much thanks for that!
For me the Turbo Tunnel is not that hard. What I REALLY HATE is level 11, the Clinger Winger. There's virtually no room for error, and when you reach the finish line you have to... FIGHT THE ELECTRO SPHERE!!!
oh nostalgia... I used to play this game when I was 10 or something. I couldnt realize that I was playing one of the master pieces of nes. extremely hard game though. watching this playthrough brings me great memories. thanks uploader

This game was truly ahead of it's time. It employed some 3D elements, amazing sound effects, and some innovative use of pixels. Too bad it was too hard to beat! :(

I always wondered what the rest of this game looked like. I could never get past the first speeder run on level 3. They should have let you play as Pimple after going through all that. Also got to see the end of the first TMNT game for the first time today. Thanx for posting sir, that was pretty sweet.

You know, when I first started, I thought "what the fuck is so difficult about this??" And then you got to the ice level. And I took back that roll of the eyes at the common opinion of this game's difficulty.
Definitely loving the amount of swagger in this run! I was at the edge of my seat for the Turbo Tunnel, which you played largely from the middle of the screen O_O holy crap lol. I can only clear Turbo Tunnel playing from the far left so I have time to react to the obstacles. Very impressive!
WOW a not hit run on Battletoads, absolutely INSANE, man, congratulations! The way that you dodged the rockets in Volkmire's Inferno was incredible! I never dared dancing around them like that haha, but found a safe spot (not 100% though, but pretty close) in the bottom left corner. I respect you for actually racing all of the rats and not trying to hit them or cause that awesome level skip glitch :). I used to do the same and the third race was always the toughest!

After having witnessed your epic run, I'm actually considering to challenge this game again, Justin, so thank you for the inspiration! I have never finished the game without dying (best was dying 8 times w/o using a continue, w/o using any warps in 2004), so that would be my goal :). Going for a perfect game would be a bit too much for me though hehe. The game has to hold a very special place in my heart in order for me to put myself through such an extreme challenge. You clearly love it!

I can't get past the bike part to save my life. The only way I saw the ending on this and the SNES game was the use of the mighty Game Genie to skip levels, LOL. Great video!
WOW! Just the other day we watched the video where Proton Jon and 3 friends race each other through Battletoads over the course of 3 hours and over 250 lives lost (per person!) I can't say you made this look easy because I know if I were playing it clearly wouldn't be. But, you definitely made it look easier than it should look! Pretty incredible reflexes, not to mention memory!
