It was such a pleasure to have you guys play our decks. It was so much fun getting the playgroup together to watch this episode. I hope everyone that is watching enjoys getting a taste of what it is like when we all sit down and play commander every week. Thanks again to the MTGgoldfish crew, and we hope to work with you guys again in the future!
Wouldve loved to have seen your guys' reactions to that honestly lol. Im sure they gave you alot of cool feedback and it was probably sick to get their takes on your decks in real time as they are playing it.
Richard is the beautiful mind of Magic. Winning with jank tribes proves it. Also, Crim keeping a hand full of lands after the debut of his Game Knights episode, seems reasonable, lol.
I love how everyone complained that Seth wasn't letting people play the game, and yet if he didn't exile the kefnet, Andrew would have gone infinite with scroll rack, and nobody noticed that. Haha
Had a great time watching the games! I hope you guys enjoyed playing the decks, and Seth I hope that you’ve learned that Mistmeadow Witch is indeed a problem haha! All you needed was a blink creature and you were off to the races. Good games fellas!
TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE Hey MTGGoldfish crew, I just wanted to quickly say thank you for how much you guys have helped me battle my bipolar depression and suicidal ideation over the past two years. Today I had a really bad day, and had to leave work early because of my mental health, but when I saw that this video was uploaded I felt a little a better. I doubt you'll see this, but I just wanted to show a little more gratitude to you folks this evening . 💕💕💕💕
@ Luke White -- hey luke. I know you don't know me from Adam, but i'd like to tell you to hang in there. It may seem that you have worse days than you do good, but the World itself would be lesser without you. Now, i'm not gonna say that "i know what your going through" because i honestly don't know(and hopefully never will), but i will tell you this much that i have learned in my 43 years of life: it does get better if you just keep going. It might not feel that way at times, but it does. Have a beautiful evening...
Luke, I'm glad you have a job where you can leave work earl when you need to. You're also lucky to have the insight to know what help you need and the creativity to find it in places you might not expect. I hope you're also getting the best professional help that's available to you. Anyone with the intelligence to follow this game has something to contribute to the world, so be sure to give yourself the care you deserve.
Gotta say, this is easily the best commander clash group goldfish has ever had! The games are always funny and there aren't any awkward moments like there has been in the past. Hope we see more
HOLY FRAG IT'S MY GAME SHOP AND THE PEOPLE I PLAY WITH! I KNOW THOSE DECKS! WTF! YOOOOO IT'S JAMES FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHTS IT YOU GUYS GET IN ON THE COMMENTS!
I think they should ban tribes like Goblins, merfolk, elves, wizards, zombies, humans and Slivers etc. You know what I mean, all the popular ones. So we can see the more obscure ones.
I think white should have more reanimate effects. It has resurrect, sun titan, reveillark, karmic guide, and quite a few other ways for permanents to the battlefield. Bruna and Teshar are commanders in this vein of effect too. What might be interesting is to make white recursion recovers well to board wipes, like mass recursion instead of single targeted recursion.
I love the conversation weekly about how richard thrashes them with piles and a smile and then find it weird he is "sneaky good" despite being all above average skill level enfranchised players. Wut?
Richard is very very good at politics and threat assessment. He knows how to wait to play scary cards unlike everyone else that has appeared on commander clash that's how he wins and it's beautiful.
Yes finely tuned decks not tested, wait are we talking viewer submitted or every other week? Remember when the playgroup folded to a damping sphere, or gaddock, or blood moon?
Yooooo Logan and me are cool are shit. They're from Tennessee and I've known Logan and matt for a long time. Both awesome guys, great players, and some sweet brewers.
Rhystic studies was from prophecy, which mechanically was entirely based on using up all of your own mana and playing cards that put mana taxes on your opponents. You can look up the other cards from the rhystic cycle and see that all of their abilities make your opponents decide whether to spend all of their mana to avoid the downsides of their own cards, or save the mana to stop your opponents from getting advantages. Really weird set, but it does make sense internally that it is blue since everything taxed.
I like this idea quite a lot. Makes it more likely that the decks are going to be of a similar power level, rather than have someone mana screwed for the entire match whilst another guy is going off with Urza.
You know you don't have to waste mana in order to yield until your next turn right? You can just right click "draw" and select "yield until here on my turn". Otherwise, youll get blown out when someone (hint hint) plays down Rishadan Cutpurse into their Panharmonicon.
It's more about Andrew's missplay than Seth making good play. Andrew should had rifted muse to Seth's hand at Seth's endstep and then just kill everyone with kefnet's turns :/
I wish underrealm lich was a legend, also blue used to be the original taxing color: all the flux cards (aura flux, energy flux, pendrell flux), power taint, mana chains, slow motion, all the pay 1 to x counter spells, mystic remora… the list goes on and on… But over time white took it over
On the subject of emotional damage, I once cast worst fear to take the narset players next turn. I attacked with narset hit swords to plowshares hit narset and choose for it to go to exile instead of command zone. There was also a time when playing two headed giant where one of my opponents cast overwhelming splendor on my ally and i cast imp's mischief to redirect it to themself.
Biovisionary is not that secret of a wincon in Riku. I didn't even need to know the decklist to know it was Biovisionary when they mentioned a "secret wincon."
Richard...RIIIICHARRRRRD.. Dude.. Why is there no content of you spiking your way through Arena? Seth, i know technically he's your boss but as "content manager" of mtgGoldfish you ought to get on at him to make content. surely im not the only one thats intrigued about watching his meteoric rise through the ranks?
I like these higher power level decks. I'd love to see a commander clash series with this higher power level stuff so that you can fit in 2-4 games per episode with the same decks.
Just imagine if they played a commander clash episode but it's in the form of 30 - 40 minute animated episodes with all the players either as themselves or goldfish and since you would need multiple episodes you can have a dragon ball style come back for more ending. Would take a long time to make but it would be awesome
@Tomer you should write an article on how to bring white up to par with the other colors in the pie for ramp, draw and tutoring. The as an addition red... Cause we all know white and red are the two weakest colors in the pie.
Welp, let's see what jank we got! One of these days I'll submit my golos death by gifts, an entire deck built around giving people things with like, hunted phantasm, and burning them with ETB, kinda like mono black burn with panharmonicon.
The Rhystic tax is a mechanic from Prophecy with cards across multiple colours, Rhystic Study is just the only one that really sees play. With this is mind Rhystic Study is definitely a blue card not white. The white Rhystic common is a damage prevention card with the same tax to counter.
Matthias Verlinden ur dragons purpose at the table is really to pressure life totals. The other guys in the play group typically have to conserve resources to keep each other from comboing off. Ur dragon capitalizes on this by applying a lot of pressure to decks that aren’t really playing a lot of board wipes, and given that all of their combos require permanents on board, it runs a suite of permanent removal. The deck actually tends to play very well with group, but the bug on mtgo was really a huge deal.
I'd agree that the dragon deck usually keeps us all in check. It plays the most removal which really disrupts us until it somehow has a giant board or casts a living death and kill us all with a giant board of hasty dragons.
Paused before the second game here, Gotta say, I understand the killing Tomer first and have no problem with the grudges and jokes and things from week to week. It's real. But I will say it's surprising to me at how Tomer seems to not know what to do or how to play(most optimally) not only this deck but others in the past. No offense Tomer I like you and like your thought process on many commander topics but it just seems like some base understanding of the combos and synergies in your decks could go a long way to actually making you the scariest player at a table. I hope I haven't become that asshole in the comments it was just something I felt like I needed to vocalize.
While I think this was a cool thing to do, I think these decks are a bit too high-powered for this kind of content. Games that are just "these cards have to die every turn or the game can just end on the spot" don't make for the most enjoyable viewing. So even though these were well balanced against eachother, this wasn't the best content.
For how many combos this playgroup runs, it’s super low on interaction. Not a particularly fun episode to watch imo because it feels like 3 combo decks and a dragon deck. Really low color diversity too. Cool idea but hopefully a better play group can submit next time that feels more balanced.
It was such a pleasure to have you guys play our decks. It was so much fun getting the playgroup together to watch this episode. Great decks guys! Super fun to watch.
Every single of those 4 decks is really cool, i would enjoy playing each of them
Wouldve loved to have seen your guys' reactions to that honestly lol. Im sure they gave you alot of cool feedback and it was probably sick to get their takes on your decks in real time as they are playing it.
I would have liked if ur-dragon had done a little more. that bug made me pretty sad. The deck typically does a lot more.
@@matthewstooksbury I think the deck basically kept the other three in check with removal. Seemed like a typical game for us.
The decklist for the Riku deck shows Roon as the commander instead.
Richard is the beautiful mind of Magic. Winning with jank tribes proves it. Also, Crim keeping a hand full of lands after the debut of his Game Knights episode, seems reasonable, lol.
ROAR!!! Go Ur Dragon! Go Crim! About to watch the episode and I’m rooting for you! Thanks for playing our decks guys. So happy Logan sent them.
Love me some dragons ( : my favorite tribe.
1:18:51 "The birds that tap for water."
criminy, that was rich
Tomer: " this deck has no ways to win with out selvala"
Playing an infinite mana elf deck with ezuri, mirror entity, and shalai in hand
Well that was cool I like how the playgroups decks were balanced against each other.
Well I hope everyone remembers to kill Jake's deck first. It's the first rule of commander clash.
Very cool concept for an episode theme guys, kudos to whoever came up with it
Riku of the Hidden Roon reflection.
I think you mean Roonflection
oh man, what a misplay at 1:13:26!
/s, I'm writing this 10 minutes after the video dropped I have no idea what happens.
You chose a good moment. Crim was on the cusp of winning thanks to Andrew's ultimatum.
Oh man, it was such a bad misplay that I spilled my drink all over myself in disgust at it
Oh for sure😂

I still think it would be fun for each of y’all to bring your own personal paper deck to the table. I think it’d be pretty chill.
HOLY FRAG IT'S MY GAME SHOP AND THE PEOPLE I PLAY WITH! I KNOW THOSE DECKS! WTF!
YOOOOO IT'S JAMES FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHTS IT YOU GUYS GET IN ON THE COMMENTS!
I would 100% listen to Tomer rant for an hour each week
Crim was on fire this episode!
"Is it my turn?" and "I had to wait for the 4th Biovision Token" had me in stiches!
10:00 LOL Seth's analysis of Richard's play cracks me up! I wish Richard would have made a run at pro magic in its heyday.
I love this format, you should definitely do more of these.
I'd love to see an iconic tribe week. Goblins, zombies, elves, cats and merfolk each player picks one and goes nuts
You forgot kithkin!
I think they should ban tribes like Goblins, merfolk, elves, wizards, zombies, humans and Slivers etc. You know what I mean, all the popular ones. So we can see the more obscure ones.
@@RunninOnYT or just do ab obscure tribe week
Crims playing dragons
barbarian tribal with Balthor the Stout when?

White needs an Animate Dead effect to go with Sun Titan, Sevinne’s Reclamation, etc
@Tomer: Instill Energy is available on MTGO in Masters Edition 4.

Krim playing more dragons last week than 2 games this week. Makes calling it a dragon deck more appropriate in hindsight.
Yooooo Logan and me are cool are shit. They're from Tennessee and I've known Logan and matt for a long time. Both awesome guys, great players, and some sweet brewers.
Rather than f8, you can right-click upkeep in like the turn bar and pass priority to your upkeep if you have like a quirion ranger like effect
Rhystic studies was from prophecy, which mechanically was entirely based on using up all of your own mana and playing cards that put mana taxes on your opponents. I like this idea quite a lot. Makes it more likely that the decks are going to be of a similar power level, rather than have someone mana screwed for the entire match whilst another guy is going off with Urza.
Ah it's nice seeing how real commander games play out. I love the jank on here but nice to see a typical 7-8 power level game to watch
Ur-Dragon is my favorite commander in the format so I'm excited for it and hoping it wins this week :>
Haven't watched yet, but 6 lands farseek, best keep ever for Crim
In Game 1, how can Tomer tap the Druid for it's mana ability? It's summoning sick, isn't it?
I have found the best line in vintage magic:
On the play,
1. Play an island
2. Play Black Lotus
3. Sac Lotus for 3 White
4. Cast Armageddon
We got’em
After Crim get stuck on lands on game knights... He keeps a all land hand
You know you don't have to waste mana in order to yield until your next turn right?
You can just right click "draw" and select "yield until here on my turn".
Otherwise, youll get blown out when someone (hint hint) plays down Rishadan Cutpurse into their Panharmonicon.
So Richard owns mtggoldfish and Seth and Tomer are employees?
I think it's more like partners but basically yeah
Selvala, my girl!
Underrealm Lich with Damia is nuts, too.
With Kefnet and Temporal Mastery and Scroll Rack that is infinite turns. So yeah good play Seth.
It's more about Andrew's missplay than Seth making good play. Andrew should had rifted muse to Seth's hand at Seth's endstep and then just kill everyone with kefnet's turns :/
Crim took a perfect ur dragon opening hand
Riku of Two Reflections is one of my favorite cards
Seth called the white rhystic study before it was spoiled in may 2021 O.0
So confused heritage druid ability is not affected by summoning sickness, so timer could have cast it after Seth bounced it and used it right away

Oh nvm... Mixed it up with mindcontrolling the creature, not the player.
Glad that's not my playgroup. Can't even tap out or someone wins the game.
Is there something wrong with the audio? It sounds like everyone is underwater.
One time I powered out an early Karona, False God and lost on that turn cycle. So I understand Tomer's pain from that one game with the turn 4 loss
Biovisionary is not that secret of a wincon in Riku. I didn't even need to know the decklist to know it was Biovisionary when they mentioned a "secret wincon."

The Banter this game was ON POINT.
Oh it's Riku PLEASE be the deck I submitted!
Edit: Nope. Drat. Hopefully Tomer will get around to playing my deck one day.
I like these higher power level decks. I'd love to see a commander clash series with this higher power level stuff so that you can fit in 2-4 games per episode with the same decks.
Sure you will play the explorer returned, but where is sylvala and her bros who storm???
Excetied for a Group hug deck? :D
literally just converted my brago deck to Roon. dont have birthing pod or zegana in it.. but smothering tithe an emergency powers..
Why does everybody forget that Acid Rain exists? Destroy all forests for 4 Mana - it's bonkers in edh.
I got a selvala you guys you can play. Crazy fun. Lol

The sequencing by tomer on this turn is cruel and unusual.
Ahh two extra turns is not the same as infinite lol if only they knew...
Three combodecks? Yikes, I'd hate to sit at that table.
