Absolutely wonderful to see a beautiful building restored rather than demolished - let it be a symbol and inspiration for the renaissance of Detroit.

People talk Detroit down. A lot of whom have never been there. I visited right before the pandemic. The airport was gorgeous. The people could not have been nicer. And I really enjoyed my time there.
I wish the citizen and the city all the luck in rising back from the ashes, even better than before. You got this!

I absolutely love living in Detroit. We live in Lafayette Park in a wonderful glass, high-rise, mid-century modern and just love it here, wonderful neighborhood, extremely nice people, relatively affordable, walking distance to so many amenities, enough people around now but yet not prohibitively crazy like so many other cities , there’s so much renovation of buildings along with new construction. The city is finally getting on the right pathway. The Michigan Central Station is an absolutely outstanding facility now ,took a tour of it yesterday. So proud of Detroit. Thankyou Ford!

The building deserved to be restored, and it's wonderful to see the "can do" American spirit is alive and well even if it's a little harder to find than when I was a kid. Looking at this beautifully restored building brings out the joyous kid in me all over again. I can picture myself pulling on my mom's hand to go see the trains. Well done Detroit, very well done.

Love to see the train station revived but it needs ACTUAL train service to it... Aka Amtrak needs to re-occupy the station itself as well as be open to adding a streetcar extension to downtown and hopefully commuter rail too! So much potential that so far hasn't been used...

@@Groupster ... It has definitely been talked about... Tried to find a link from a Facebook page but it would take too long... The "Wolverine Line" will take people to Toronto I believe and possibly the Chicago train will use MCS as well... The train tunnel (goes under the Detroit River and into Windsor Canada) is RIGHT THERE by the station, so using it for the Toronto-Detroit line was a no brainer and apparently is a done deal... The other cities are a question mark but it looks promising and Ford has already said that if rail service in the States ever were to come back to large volume they could/would add more platforms as needed, but that is a loooooong time from now as America is pathetically behind Asia and Europe in rail infrastructure... Let me put it this way, high speed rail infrastructure is a larger obstacle than whether MCS could install many new platforms.

When are we going to start actual engineering and production for flying cars?
We have names like JOBY (Joby aviation) and ACHR (Archer aviation) that are working on vertical aircraft transportation. I would like to see the continuation of the growth of Detroit transferring into a motor city once again, this time obviously leading us into the future with vertical transportation. We live in a new century and sometimes companies need to fail so we can innovate for better ones that can lead us into the future.

You can see Jim well up towards the end of the interview. He's a good guy. Unfortunately Ford is carrying an obscene amount of long-term liabilities on their books. GM also. It's inevitable, that Both companies will have to merge at some point to save themselves. Not sure what will become of Dodge Stellantis. Perhaps all three should merge to stave off what's coming. It's sad to see him talk about their EV program, because nobody wants their EVs. This category will be dominated by Tesla, Hyundai and the Chinese manufacturers. Toyota has been incredibly smart and will continue to focus on hybrids and improving their ice lineup.

Aka they are pushing hybrid cars which aren't as efficient as EV's are the most likely to actually break down or catch fire due to their complicated nature and certainly don't deliver nearly the same eco-benefits or clean experience as pure EV's...
