Funny that Max Headroom, perhaps the ultimate embodiment of computerization and digitization in the 80's, wasn't digital at all. We simply did not have the technology yet.
Totally underrated actor. Wonderful guy and excellent personality!! HE gave Max live. And yeah! Max Headroom invented TH-cam poop looong before the internet as we know it and of yourse TH-cam ;)
This is the reason I love BBC. They are willing to take chances and risks like this. You'd never have seen Max Headroom ever on US TV, until after it became a hit - which, of course, can't happen, if you're not willing to air the idea in the first place.
I would be so disappointed if Grace Jones wasn't ever involucrated in the world of Max Headroom. She even was interviewed by him in his talk show. Thanks universe.
Whatever happened to Max? Wasn't he simply years ahead of his time? I prefered his original incarnation where he used to slow his voice right down, as well as speed up and stutter. Anyone remember his advert for A.G.E, the number cure for spots..... my flatmate recorded Dallas over it for me, what a loss :( . I'd love to see it all again.
Could you please upload the full episode? I've been searching for it for ages, though it isn't anywhere online. If you can, that'd be brilliant, thank you.
Yeah, but did the average person know that back then? If it looked like what they figured a CG host would look like and the show was saying it was (while in character), anybody who didn't know would just assume it was legit.
i got scared of him as kid lol thought he was a robot on the rampage :P i did look at him with terror and fear XD but i was so fascinated i could not stop watching my eyes were big as tires on a Ferguson tractor ffs :).

MH was ahead of its time. We now are living in the world he predicted 30 years ago.
I have really weird memories of Max on my TV at home. I was so young and had no clue what I was watching. Glad to know I wasn't totally mental.

Boy what an innovation....
I know Matt Frewer did good being Max but it was George Stone who wrote him. Look him up you’ll see his name they had to put in back 2010.

I’ve said this countless times but Max Headroom is THE first vtuber
#comebackmaxheadroom
I remember watching this as a kid on Channel 4 on Saturday evenings. Usually after the racing was done...
"The rest is history 'ahah'." yesss
CGI came out in 80's in many films some still hold up today
BRILLIANT!
I know him as the time traveling thief in the Star Trek TNG episode! :D
Max headroom is alive and well, he's working at MSNBC under the name Chris Hayes.
@FalbertForester It was Channel 4 mate, Not the BBC.
1990 for jim c. on in living color & 85 for max.
I loved them both, but Max Headroom comes first
Now that's a talking head.
so glad i have all 3 music/talk shows two series from the uk 1985/86
and the us version from 1987

I dont care about the Talking Heads, I want to see " the talking head " Max Head Room "
Bunch of episode uploaded on youtube now. Blank Reg is coooool!
Max headroom played by Mat Frewer.
Wild, wild stuff.
still had CGI in 80's
Actually his first appearance was on his own TV show, commercials came later
loved M.H
Max is more natural than Miku Nastsume. Miku is too much of a 2D but Max simply begins as a natural-living 3D character
Well... thats... because he's um HUMAN
#ILoveMaxHeadroom 😍

Hello. My name is Mathdad. I am watching a video. Enjoy my comment :)
I enjoyed your comment. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, I subscribed! :)
how many seasons did the brit version last? I remember the U.S. one didn't even last a full season.
Matt Frewer was also Trash Can Man in stephen Kings" The Stand"
Only a matter of time until we get a real CGI host.
I have found TH-cam Poop's origins.
The makes since then. Must have taken a little longer to get to the U.S.
Such an amazing time when it was about being handsome.......... AND THEN SEXUALITY RUINED EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!
now they can review him, but with using real CGI and voice sythesizer
People were confused. Good idea. Provoked thought, caught everyone with their pants/knickers down at the time?
It's an actor in front of a bluescreen. The only CG part is the background.

Was Kennedy after Max Headroom?
That and the villain on Watchmen.
Poor Matt Frewer. This is pretty much his only claim to fame.
What does he say at the end when the two guys are carrying the screen?
"Guys Guys for god's sake don't crease the suit will ya".
Thanks.
@VashDraven It was channel 4 i sent the message to you by mistake sorry about that. i have a lot of recording from max such a shame hes not around now
Looks like Bowser in the Super Mario Bros Movie.
think it was kind of like the cavemen commercials. where it got made into a t.v. show. lasted a season. Got cancelled and the campaign was over with.
You sure? I don't believe the show came on before 85.
CGI came out in 80's
am i awake
yeah bitch! 1985 rocks! i was born then.
I graduated from high school in 1985.
@Willisman1 And it wasn't employed because....?
I know that.
Grace was so hot.
.....sounds like Jim Carrey.
That, CG?
Come on, just in the 90s, CG wasn't able to emulate lifa-like things (I'm not talking about basic stuff).
@Bieeanda You had to be there
he does act like jim c. who came out 1st i wonder?
Hard to answer Carrey was doing stand up in the 80's already when Max was really popular
revive
I still don't get it.
