Thank you for sharing this documentary. I was born in Bogota Colombia. My family and I left Colombia in the 80’s because of the violence. I hope that more Americans can understand why there are so many people living countries like Colombia, looking for a better life. What I want them to take away from documentaries like this, is that the American tax payers are sending millions of dollars to countries like Colombia. Is it disgusting the amount of corruption in countries like Colombia. The American government has turned a blind eye to the corruption. Colombia is NOT a poor country by any means. The problem is the corruption within the government. If more pressure is placed on them, there would be a lot less people fleeing their countries and coming to America illegally.
Us Americans have are own crooked government to worry about and we have are own problems no offense but it's the truth. We can't just keep letting anyone in.
Our American government is corrupt, and we Americans can't keep helping other countries out and are fed up with all the illegal immigrants coming to our country trying to live the American dream when our ppl in our country need help !

Cabe aclarar que este documental fue grabado aproximadamente hace 20 años y hoy en dia las condiciones han cambiado respecto a lo que se muestra, el estado colombiano con apoyo norteamericano realizo intervenciones para tomar el control de los penales mas importantes, pero el hacinamiento y la corrupción siguen vigentes.

Me pareció muy interesante el documental. Desde mi perspectiva, la situación carcelaria en los años 90 en Bogotá, Colombia, parece haber sido mejor que la actual. Aunque hoy en día el Estado parece tener un mayor control sobre las cárceles, lamentablemente parece haber olvidado a las personas privadas de la libertad (PPL). Sé que algunos podrían argumentar que las PPL merecen un trato más severo, pero aquellos que hayan explorado la política carcelaria comprenderán a lo que me refiero.
En mi opinión, el Estado debería considerar la construcción de cárceles de máxima seguridad en las afueras de la ciudad para evitar el hacinamiento. Además, debería asignar más recursos al INPEC y USPEC, proporcionar alimentos saludables en buen estado, implementar programas de resocialización que incluyan aspectos espirituales, psicológicos y de trabajo social. Esta medida ayudaría a romper el círculo vicioso en el que las cárceles se convierten en focos de criminalidad.
Reconozco que esta propuesta no resolverá completamente el problema, pero al menos contribuirá en parte a la creación de una sociedad mejor en un país tan complicado como Colombia. Amo a Colombia.
El gran problema en Colombia es la corrupción en todo lo público. Una cárcel por recluso recibe 2 millones mensuales, y uno ve como vive esa gente, y se ve que invertirán unos cien mil de pesos y el otro millón novecientos para los intermediarios.
Total, mucha corrupción! debe mejorarse el sistema carcelario. también seria bueno que los presos puedan trabajar honestamente para su manutención sin estarle haciendo daño a nadie desde la cárcel .@@Neo-Reloaded

Concuerdo, siento que acá igual el tema de introducir sistemas carcelarios enfocados en el rehabilitamiento y reintegración es complicado mas no imposible. Sin embargo, siento que la mayor dificultad que presentan las cárceles de acá es el tema del hacinamiento o el sobrecupo, y es algo que ha empeorado hoy en dia comparado con el documental.

The vast majority of the time, prisoners in first world countries don't have guns and GRENADES... but in third world countries, it happens often, especially if they got money and collaborators.

Que mentira, Popeye murió prácticamente de viejo en otra cárcel, en la Tramacoa, pero antes de eso, estuvo libre en Medellín, este video esta presentado como actual, cuando esas imágenes son de hace 30 años o más.
