You have absolutely convinced me that I can do these projects myself! I would start off with one like this as my testing ground and later move on to something larger. Thanks for the motivation!
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection th-cam.com/users/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seems to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
Aftet having a stroke in December I've tried making wood projects as therapy. This was a great one had a friend help in assembling it since I have limited use of my right side. Love your projects and am going to use more of them as well. The only change was I used 10" pipes.
Larry Hensley : Atta boy, Larry!! I recently suffered a stroke too. I'm also using woodworking to help myself recover. I may work slower, but dammit, I get it done!!
Have to say love this video, I've used it to make a shoe rack for my sister. I used some nice white oak, distressed it using a wire brush and various other tools, for stain used spirit based stain in 2 shades, teak and rosewood, sanded mainly by hand 40/80 grit and a little go over with 120, got a nice character feel to touch to the grain of the wood and finished with 3 costs of Danish wood oil which so far looks great, just wanted to share this and thank you guys for the inspiration. I've seen a couple of other videos that I'll be following soon too 😎
After obsessing and watching this video a bajillion times, I finally made it! My first woodworking type project! Thanks for making everything so clear and understandable and cute
Okay I gotta say- I am so obsessed with all things Rehab Life! My boyfriend just bought a house and the idea of buying all the furniture I want seems so out of reach- you guys are making it seem feasible! I spend hours watching, re-watching , and writing down the plans for which of your projects I’m gong to tackle. A couple of questions for you two: when you first started out, did you rent your power tools or buy them? I’m trying to decide whether the investments are worth it. Obviously the goal in building our own furniture is to save money! Thanks for ALLL the inspo and for being all of my goals!!!
That's awesome, thanks for watching our channel! As for your question, it kind of depends on how much you plan to build. If you have a lot of projects in mind then it's a good idea to invest in some decent tools that will last a long time. If you only have one or two than you plan to build and it will only take a day or two then renting may be a better idea. We invested in some quality power tools when we entered the rehabbing business about 7 years ago and they are the same tools we use in our videos today so for us, it's been worth it!
I love this project! Great addition to my house. I used 2 x 12 x 5 only because I wanted a bit more space but I still love it. A bit pricey because of pipes but worth it for sure.
Hi, when you made these, what size galvanized pipes did you get? She said 8 inches long but it looks like that may be a nipple size which is what I see in stores and online, compared to the one she had in the video or did she mean 18"long? Thanks
Would love to try this project, but as a behind the sofa console table and give it a vintage white wash as well as making the table a little longer in length!! Such a great project
Great industrial design easy project! I am thinking of modifying your idea for an audio component display rack, turntables and heavy tube amp on the top, maybe 4-6 pipes per level, and an u used marble slab (freebie) on the top. Great choice of materials
Hals Wood Shop. Your projects are great for inspiring builders. I have watched since the start. It is time to add an early step....Choose the best surface of the board to be the top surface when you are arranging the boards. ....It would be a small line your text and you are most likely doing it but your audience ( beginners by those questions..what grit sandpaper?) would really benefit, instead of the sap line showing up from the pine and the good side ending up elsewhere. Most new " makers" are starting with pine so choosing is a good lesson for them.
First of all great work, I have watched all of your videos. And they inspired me to have wood working as a hobby, as a matter-of-fact I am making the farmhouse table(almost done). Next in line are the bench, console table and the bar rack. This one looks very easy and I am planning to do it too. Keep doing the great work and posting new projects.
If you aren't already - it would be great to attach these videos to a blog post with written out instructions to also follow along and get material, cut lists, etc.
Love this! Definitely going to do this. Thanks for sharing. Also, thanks for making such quality and easy to follow videos! Very to the point! You don't have an intro talking for 4 mins haha
This is totally neat. It would make a gorgeous coffee table too. And a woman doing it is encouraging. I keep telling my bosses they need to project tool bags and things for women especially. Missing a good oportunity. There are more and more single moms. Its not a good thing but most people out there are smart enough to use things like that to their advantage. I would love to learn woodworking allot more. Thank you. This one caught my eye.
Just built this piece over the weekend. I looks great. I used a Jacobean stain and 10" pipes. However, don't let this video fool you! The assembly is trickier than it looks and also since the pipes and flanges are threaded, they will not be totally flushed to the middle or top boards when you mount them. Mine are at a very slight angle.
That is pretty slick, and looks like a fun next project. I think I might try to turn some spindles on the lathe instead of using the pipes, then use the black wood dye on the spindles, and finish with the 5 color wood dye kit. Great vids you guys, thank you so much for sharing!
I made a bookcase using this idea and an old waterbed frame for the wood....total cost was about $10 (the bed frame I found on the side of the road) . It's the sturdiest, most easily accessible bookcase I've ever had!! I left the casters off and just put slides on the bottom, though. It really looks nice with the black pipe, going nicely with the wrought iron I have in other pieces.
The Garden of Weeden Nice. Did you put the sliders directly on the bottom shelf or did you put them on the bottom of short legs below the bottom shelf?
How did you possibly get the floor flanges for less than $10? I just went to buy some for another project at Lowe's and the cheapest ones were $5.62 for 3/4" and $5.98 for 1". I left without purchasing any (I needed 16) and will go to the plumbing supply in the a.m. to see if they have them cheaper. P.S. I checked at HD and they were over $6 each.
These are absolutely wonderful DIY videos and some of the best out there. They are well produced, great lighting, wonderful close ups and only the necessary clips. They provide an easy to read list of materials then they list the steps in clear text so you can read it then they demonstrate it. Textbook Instructional Videos.
Bonus?....Liz is cute as can be...and she works barefoot!....and she has pretty feet!!! I watch just for that alone! Bonus #2? Henry is adorable and love that he is in the videos too. Keep these up. I love watching them! Great job!
I loved it. I was thinking though using the same build but putting pipes on the top and bottom with 90’s on them and securing the to a wall with heavy duty wall mounts, I was wandering if that would work?????
I LOVE this channel!! I'm only two videos in, but I'm hooked! I LOVE- that she gets in there and does all of this as well! It makes me feel like I'm seeing something real amidst all of this TH-cam fakeness! Rock on you guys!!
I was wondering do you have any entry way idea. I want to build like a open locker system. You guys make it look so easy, so i was hoping you have a hall tree idea or locker idea??
hello guys, I was just looking on ebay looking for a shelf and then i thought perhaps I can build something. Your video just sparked something in me and I'm going to buy some tools.
I absolutely love this and I’m wondering if it’d be possible to make this an entryway table? If so, what size post should I use to make it tall enough and would 4 boards be enough? Also, should I double the post and have 4 on each shelf instead of two? Totally oblivious to what to do. Not at all a crafty person but have recently gotten into it. Please help!! By the way, love love love y’all page.
Very very nice I like all u guys work and I would love to see one of you make a tv and night stand, you guys are great the best and easiest to follow, awesomeness
I'm in the process of making these now. Curious what type of wood you'd suggest? I'm using an old piece of 2x12 cedar left behind by some contractors. I will say, i'm a little nervous about nail alignment when screwing in the flanges on top and bottom of same board? I'll have to let you know how it works out.
Love the projects but have to shop around for deals on lumber and pipe flanges etc. etc. or it gets a little costly but still good projects thanks guys.
When you go to HomeDepot, to the Lumber section, what wood should you be looking for to build these pieces? Framing lumber? What should you ask for? That will work just fine when building and also when painting it... Thanks.
Do you have to be careful that the holes in the flanges aren't lines up the same way in order for the screws not to hit each other going through the board?
Man, you are a savior. I was wondering how I could re purpose that flimsy shed laying in my garden. Thanks for the awesome idea, I will definitely use it as an inspiration. I was wondering how stable the whole thing is since you haven't anchored anything to the floor? Instead of adding cabinets, I was thinking about adding a structure to use a s a work bench. I guess once you have the frame, you can add whatever you need. Thanks again for sharing. 4:26
This is so awesome!!! I just found your channel, I’ve never held a power tool but now I’m so curious. My husband and I are on the hunt for our first house and I’m going to have to invest in some tools to start my own DIY projects. So inspirational!!!! 1:53
wow my wife really needs something like this! Are those black screws easy to find? Looks like your using an impact driver. I just got one, will I need to predrill pilot holes? Thanks
Would you guys be able to make a diy distressed bookshelf using a similar method to this. I'd really like to make one but I'm not sure how to make it sturdy and tall and I love your ideas. Thanks in advance!
Yup! Might wanna not have the wheels on it though if you're planning on sitting on it or it will roll around. It's also a little high for seating, you could lose the top board and it might work better.
Are the galvanized pipes really 8 inches? When I try to buy them in store, it seems they are shorter in length where as 4 inches or 2 inches is longer. I hope you respond soon as I really want to do this now after watching this video over and over again for years. Thanks

I wonder if you can purchase 15" pipe sections....That is how far apart I want my selves to be.
Have to say love this video, I've used it to make a shoe rack for my sister. Thanks for watching! Sounds like the project turned out great and your sister got a nice gift!
I could watch her work on projects all day.
After obsessing and watching this video a bajillion times, I finally made it! My first woodworking type project! Thanks for making everything so clear and understandable and cute
I made one of those in high school wood class, back in 1981, back then pipe and flange were pennies - not any more! Nice!
Great looking shelf! A real diy that doesnt need 8 different saws, clamps, special drill bits etc.
The exact video I was looking for!! And so relatable with the supervisor pup 🤣😍
Yay! Glad you found it...

awesome love how your videos are simple prices and names of each tool quoted and end product is amazing.
Super job, well done. Love the simple, straight to the point instructions.
Thank you!
Thank you. You are always the one that does what i need for what im looking for.
I love this project! Great addition to my house.

Thank goodness for people like you out there❤. You make it look so simple and easy. Thank you!👍👍👍👍👍
Wow that's so nice of you to say! Thanks for watching!
you guys do amazing work. My Farmhouse table looks AMAZING! Currently building a bar for my Sunroom.
Great idea!! Digging the easy assemble pipes/flanges looks very industrial
Another great project using the minimal materials and tools. Thank you
Would love to try this project, but as a behind the sofa console table and give it a vintage white wash as well as making the table a little longer in length!! Such a great project
This is awesome. I plan to make this for my entry. I'll leave off the wheels and add a cushion on top so it can serve as a bench as well.
Great industrial design easy project! I am thinking of modifying your idea for an audio component display rack, turntables and heavy tube amp on the top, maybe 4-6 pipes per level, and an u used marble slab (freebie) on the top. Great choice of materials

Well done! 😀 I like the old industrial pipe look with the thick pieces of rustic timber. Great tutorial and cute host. 😊👍

ajitthebond how long did it take you to make the farmhouse table?
If you aren't already - it would be great to attach these videos to a blog post with written out instructions to also follow along and get material, cut lists, etc.
I can do that for you
I love the industrial look and your dog is the cutest thing ever!
These are better furniture than the store sell plus you appreciate it a lot more when you make it yourself.
Soy de Uruguay. Me encanta lo que hacen. Muy buena onda. Felicitaciones!!!!!!!!
Muchas gracias!

Good job. A robust and rustic looking piece of furniture. A hundred times better than all those Chinese sawdust components.
I wish my mrs was that handy with tools, saves me doing it all the time :)
honestly i cant wait to get a job and instead of buying furniture do it myself! then i can feel accomplished and ill know it'll all be super sturdy!
es preciosa!!!!! muchas gracias por enseñarnos tu trabajo, un saludo desde Barcelona

I swear, I am going to completely redo all my furniture. Love these DIY's! I love the idea of making my own furnishings! Thanks!
Awesome, thanks for watching!

Well done, you go Girl.... I love it. Any DIYs on wood door screens...something out of the BOX... 5:31
Adorabili....e il cucciolotto è fantastico...
Love your videos, I haven't stop watching for hours, you'll make it look so easy to build stuff, hope I can do it .
😀
Love the projects but have to shop around for deals on lumber and pipe flanges etc. etc. or it gets a little costly but still good projects thanks guys.
Thank you, looks simple enough for a beginner like me.
When you go to HomeDepot, to the Lumber section, what wood should you be looking for to build these pieces? Framing lumber? What should you ask for? That will work just fine when building and also when painting it... Thanks.
This is how all videos should be done. Kool looking shoe rack
Thanks!
Do you have to be careful that the holes in the flanges aren't lines up the same way in order for the screws not to hit each other going through the board?
I would think you could also just drill prior to attaching the flange/pipe assembly and use a bolt and nut to secure in order to avoid this problem.
A locking caster in the "front" would also be a good idea, so it won't roll.
This is so awesome!!! I just found your channel, I’ve never held a power tool but now I’m so curious. My husband and I are on the hunt for our first house and I’m going to have to invest in some tools to start my own DIY projects. So inspirational!!!! 1:53
I love all your product except the choice in dark stains . I'm curious if these projects would look good in light or grey stain
Thank you for the ideas!
Awesome! Can't wait to make this for my shoes.
You make it look so easy...I'm going to make this...I'm going to attempt to make this, lol! Great Job!
Your work is great thank you. I wish there was audio too, that would help a lot
Moveis ótimos sustentáveis e fáceis de fazer parabéns a vcs.

Great job! I'm making this one.
how sturdy is this? would like to build this but make a little taller for a cheap console table for a tv. Thank you for the video.
Voi siete bravissimi, complimenti! Iscritto!
wow my wife really needs something like this! Are those black screws easy to find? Looks like your using an impact driver. I just got one, will I need to predrill pilot holes? Thanks
Very nice video. I made one myself and it became beautiful. Keep up the projects. Thumbs up.
Awesome, thanks for watching!
Would you guys be able to make a diy distressed bookshelf using a similar method to this. I'd really like to make one but I'm not sure how to make it sturdy and tall and I love your ideas. Thanks in advance!
i just wish the flanges and pipes were cheaper...i think lowes and home depot watch these great vids, and raised their pricing :)
oh wow! Thank you so much! I loved the techniques you showed! 3:49
Hard watching it with the four legged death machine running around trying to kill.🤣
Awesome idea 😊

vraimenttres jolie et beau travail
Great, but got a question: How much weight can they bear? I want to put some heavy plant pots upom them 4:15
Hello there...I love ya"ll work, Thank you for sharing. I'm going to make my husband and I one:)
Would you say It is sturdy enough to sit on. I am thinking about using it in our entry way
Yup! Might wanna not have the wheels on it though if you're planning on sitting on it or it will roll around. It's also a little high for seating, you could lose the top board and it might work better.
Excelent proyect !!!! I have a question, what is the unit of measurement?
greetings from Argentina
Todo esta en pulgadas, 1 pulgada = 2.54 centimetros
3/4 flanges.thank you.for your diy.
Great simple solution! Beautiful! Like!
Are the galvanized pipes really 8 inches? When I try to buy them in store, it seems they are shorter in length where as 4 inches or 2 inches is longer. I hope you respond soon as I really want to do this now after watching this video over and over again for years. Thanks
