That's a bummer, man. I went with capt. Duy a few times and I haven't seen one failed yet, except we lost a locking ring on one of them. You must have upgraded to better rod holders? Thanks for sharing your experience!
We used Daiwa rod for trolling, FT Boat Series, FTB701 7 feet, line 30-50lbs. Reels: Daiwa Tanacom 750 Reel, and Daiwa Saltist Levelwind with line counter. I hope that helps. Good luck fishing!

You guys are very trusting of those Scotty's rod holder. I've broken 2 off tuna fishing and lost a couple setup over the side.

Bird Teaser
Its the Bird Teaser. We used that as an indicator to track the line for no line counter reels and also it attracts tuna when it splashes.

More dialog when you are running, give speed, ocean conditions, temperature , how many miles, important info for viewers.
