I was crying, not just because of what happened, but because of how destroyed Ed looked. I don't know if I've ever seen him look so hurt and anguished before. A few close friends and I all watch Snake Discovery and I went back and forth over that section multiple times to get the time stamps so they could be warned and watch it when ready because of how much we all love reptiles, Ed, and Emily.

My mom and I once hit a cat with the car (I have three cats myself) and all we could do for her was to hold her through her last moments.
We had a vet identify her and inform her owners etc.
It saddens me so much that people don’t feel that same horror for reptiles or smaller mammals like hedgehogs.

It is super sad to hear about the gravid snake. It's a good thing you found her though to help her move on. What you did saved her from possibly hours of more suffering, still sad but better knowing she's free from the pain now. Sorry you had to do that but sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest thing to do. Thank you for being amazing people!
The garter snake is so beautiful. Honestly they should have their own name like the California red-sided garter snakes. Just call them Flordidian blue garter snakes.

Your first corn was an okeetee! Brighter colors with thicker bands. A good amount of cornsnake morphs are actually found in the wild!

I never liked snakes when I was younger but after watching this channel for a while, I want my own snake. Snake discovery is very informative and fun at the same time. I enjoy learning from them!

I feel so bad for that poor water snake, the fact she was about to have babies is truly heartbreaking. Ya'll are amazing people and the reason I'm so into reptiles and that I have 2 of my own. Do you guys have any tips to finding the best places for reptiles, if so I'd love to know, I'm going to Florida again soon and wanna know where to go to find snakes! (and other reptiles!)❤❤

Huge hugs to you both. I feel the sadness in you both and although this happened months ago probably since you recorded in advance, know that positive vibes and love are sent out as I watch this. You have taught ME so much, as I watch this with my son (4yr old) and I've always been very afraid of snakes. You've been teaching me otherwise, and this is what I wanted to also teach my son. I don't want my fear to be his fear. So THANK YOU.
I'm sorry you witnessed that, but also glad it was you and you were able to put the snakes to rest.

I still remember running out to get a turtle and a car swerved to hit it. I was horrified... I can't imagine purposely trying to hit ANYTHING. Glad you were there and had the knowledge to access the situation and end the suffering. So sad. :(

Some time ago my brother saw someone do the same to an adult hedgehog.. It was walking on the other lane and that bastard intentionally ran over it. It still infuriates me! Other drivers, that came before that bastard, dodged the hedgehog. As sane people do! Glad those previous drivers never got to know what happened. I'm sure they'd be horrified..

I should add that the hedgehog died on the spot. In my brothers words 'it exploded'.
