I would've given it a ten foot berth and not even touched it. Spiders are the reason I can't do tropical areas.
Like, when that part came on my screen I held my phone as far away from my face as my arm would allow. Just, yuck.

Cane spider is what I know those big spiders as (the one at 2:30) and they are fast! Also, incredibly scary when they just appear near the ceiling on a wall in your house at after-dark-o'clock.

Omg i remember these dudes showing up whenever i thought let’s sit in the living room for the once in a blue moon my parent’s were not home… the nightmares. My non agoraphobic friends would scream and never come back to that room

I'm Australian, we call them huntsmen. They're simultaneously chill and lazy while also being zoomy and aggressive. They can stay in the same corner for months, or they can cross a room in under a minute because you looked at them wrong

    Puerto Rican here:
1- So sad you didn´t get a chance to view/catch a Coquí frog. Although I´m sure you heard it in El Yunque since they´re everywhere.
2- All my life I´ve seen those spiders and didn´t know they were Jumping Spiders.
3- The Puerto Rican Iguana...good luck. I don´t know of ANYONE that had catched one.
4- As for the milipedes I remember playing with them as a kid in school.

9:44 assuming I got my Googling correct, this looks to be Fort Segarra, meaning that this is absolutely a gun emplacement! We've got some similar locations up on the northern Oregon coast, found a garter snake out there once

This reminds me of the herping I did while on my honeymoon in St John just over a year ago. I caught some small geckos and almost caught a ground lizard as well but they are so wily. I ended up catching two different green iguanas including one who was taking a dip in the ocean. He was so calm and didn't try to bite or tail whip me at all.

I was in the Dominican end of May to work as a nurse in rural communities! Not sure how far in advance you film and publish these but I’m kinda fan-girling at the idea we were on the island during the same time!!
    The bugs were insane!!!
We asked our guide if there were any deadly predators on the island and her response was only the Tigres 😉 (reference to the passionate men)
I literally have never owned a reptile but your channel is one of the few reasons I check TH-cam still. Hope to one day road trip to visit your gorgeous zoo ❤

I'm a big fan of butterflies. I take a lot of pictures of the local butterflies in my neighborhood. And stuff like that. But my favorite thing to do for butterfly photography is go to the museum in DC cuz in their invertebrate section they have a little like greenhouse room upstairs where they've got a bunch of exotic butterflies and it's like 80° even if you go in there in winter. So it's perfect for them to raise butterflies all year round. I've gotten pictures of butterflies from my backyard to other continents in the same shot in there. It's ridiculous but the thing is is on the wall. They've only got pictures of a few species so I don't know all the species I've got and I'm like well. I don't know that one and I think it's exotic

I love El Yunque (the national forest) and I went there almost every weekend throughout most of my teenage years. But as much as I love it, it's not the best place to herp because the areas where the public is allowed are sooooo busy. Scares most of the wildlife away.

Bigger spider is definitely a huntsman! Their ability to collapse their body into tight places is really cool, also the nests in the tunnel belong to two possible species of Ariel Nest building yellow jackets, the Ariel Yellow Jacket and the Bald Faced hornet, and despite the name bald faced hornet is actually a yellow jacket, True hornets seek out small cavities to build their nests in

If you ever make it to Barbados check out Welchman Hall. There's a Gully AND a cave tour. There's a grotto in the gully but it's blocked off because dead tourists is never a good thing when tourism is your main export. There's also a zoo that has mostly non native animals but feeding time is the best place to see Barbados Green Monkeys. But there's been a plague of African snails and this giant moth and they're eating everything.

Dominican is awesome, too bad you didn't have much time to herp there. I was there once on an 4 day vacay at a resort, during the day there were brown anoles and curly tail lizards anywhere where there was grass and vegetation and as soon as night came there were literally house geckos everywhere! Anywhere where there was a light (outside of each room door) there was at least a pair and any trees that you passed by on your way to the beach you would see them scurrying abouts.

Even if you haven't met because you have common friends. I've seen people on your channel who have also been on his channel that being Adam from wicked wicked reptiles. Dave, Kaufman and Clint, what's his name?

    • @houndgirl7365
      @houndgirl7365 ปีที่แล้ว

Chandler went downhill and has done some incredibly irresponsible things. I think he has lost his way and is using the animals for clout. Sorry but getting drunk and wrangling a gator is not just dumb, but also dangerous for him and the animal. Horrible representative of the reptile community :/ he even lost his puppy to free roaming because he expected it to stay on the property without proper traing -_-.
Clint might have worked with him once same with Kevin and some others, but their tune changed after he turned into a man child for views :/

10:23 uhhhh I think that's Kanji. Take this with a grain of salt because my Japanese is extremely rusty, but I think it says "dainichi" or "great sun." I looked the compound up and it could be a shortening of the Japanese name for the "sun Buddha," Dainichi Nyorai. Though I guess since Japanese uses the same characters as Chinese, it could just as easily be Chinese.
