I agree that Peter is very passive in Ultimate Spider-Man, but the way I see it is that this is a Peter Parker who actually understands responsibility. He’s been a responsible adult his whole life, making responsible choices, and this is where it’s gotten him.
616 and 1610 Peter Parker have always been children who misinterpreted what responsibility is and what Uncle Ben meant by it when he said his famous line. They decided that responsibility meant being Spider-Man, no matter the cost, even though Uncle Ben clearly would never have wanted that.
The current Ultimate Slider-Man will have to break the chains of responsibility to finally be the Spider-Man we all know and love.

Ram V wrote this to mirror the structure of an opera. I absolutely see where you are coming from but I absolutely adore the current Detective Comics run.

To help with Tiffany's confusion on xmen resurrection: there is a line leading up to sins of sinister when the xmen are hunting down sinister to put him in the pit that they comment he was no longer needed for the resurrection.
    Hope that helps

I get a kick out of how exasperated Sal sounds that Penguin is still fantastic.

Isssue 4 of USM was probably my favourite since it’s debut. We learn more about all the characters and the story progresses.
Gwen as this business woman who can’t really turn off professional-personal could be a character element we see in Harry as he descends into villainy.
Mary Jane seems like the MJ we got years ago in the JRSR era but if she got to truly grow up and he more adult. It’s great.
I think when she finds out Peter is Spider-Man she’ll either A be heartbroken and start a rift that will be resolved or B she’ll probably already know even though he never told her. I do think that reveal will reflect and be the opposite of whatever happens with Gwen and Harry. I know this series is about Peter, MJ, Ben, Richard, May, JJJ and that family but I do think the sub section of that will be the cast we got in issue 4. Really loving this journey we are going on with USM

I've been really enjoying both penguin and flash, both books are great. If not for this show I wouldn't know that they aren't selling great or winning over fans, I don't really follow industry news. Hope they pick up for folks, but I love em

What a chump I am for not asking Charles Soule about the hot claws. Instead we talked about depression and his novels and how much "The Oracle Year" meant to me! What a fool I am.

Was at my local comic con just a few weeks ago (SC Comic Con) and there was a booth with $5 Trades and a few with dollar bins, I guess it might just not be at the bigger shows anymore because they feel like they can get away with it?

Just finding this video and when I got to the part about C2E2 I was saddened yet not surprised. C2E2 was the first con I ever went to and they used to be so much more. The vendors, the artists, the entertainers, the aesthetic. There came a point where you visibly saw that dying and that sucked. Vendors slowly started disappearing, entertainers became C listers that haven't done anything in years, the spectacle that use to be there was gone. I was able to introduce a few friends to C2E2 before it started to become lack luster but right now I wish I could've brought you back to when it was better.

X-men going so hard right now! If you told back when fox has Xmen we’d be living in a great Xmen age in the next era I would’ve been hard pressed to believe it but here we are! Makes me wonder if the same kinda “cycle” will happen with spider-man. I know a lot of fans are hating the runs and feel like he’s being written super poorly but maybe that means next year or 2026 will be the age for best spider-man stories! 🤷🏿

Benedict or Liam OBrien from newer cartoons are my Dr. Strange voice. Some type of RDJ for Iron Man, 90s and Bruce Timm era cartoon for Spider-Man X-men Batman Superman JL characters. Nathan Fillon for Hal Jordan, CW DC shows for most of those main characters.

I don’t really like this new line of ultimate comics for a multitude of reasons. The idea that Peter become Spider-Man “ because it’s the right thing to do,” goes completely against his chracter. Having him naturally be this paragon of virtue from the beginning makes him unnrelatable. Also, in an effort to fix Peter’s shit try writing in 616 they over corrected. Spider-Man’s life should not be comically awful but it should also not be comically good😭 Peter Parker is supposed to represent the ups and downs of life. Not just one or the other. I think the book could have benefited for giving Peter some consequences for his actions. They don’t have to be monumental either, maybe Peter forgets to pick up his daughter from school and MJ gets mad, maybe he forgets to go to Richard’s band practice because he is two busy being Spider-Man. This would cause Richard to drift away fril his father. What if MJ suspected Peter was having an affair due to the fact that he has been out of the house so much? Spider-Man is supposed to be a soap opera and this new comics line has not been doing the at. Hopefully they change that as the series progresses.
