I watched the whole thing and i was like, this feels like one of those videos that would have like 3 million views. Very in depth detailed and we'll researched. Excellent
I _loved_ the Mizuchi fight. I felt like a god when I realized that you could make an Arahabaki that inherited Null Mind from its prior form as Makami, giving you a demon that counters confusion on top of nulling Physical and Ice. I really felt like I'd solved a puzzle.
SMTIII is my favorite entry in the series, in part because it’s inspired and maybe even based of ‘Also sprach Zarathustra/Thus spoke Zarathustra’ by Friedrich Nietze.
Thank you for this very ineresting video. Nocturne is tied with Phantasy Star IV as my absolute favorite game of all time and it is nice to see this analysis and appreceation of the game.
1:53-2:58 is the best freaking part of any smt nocturne video intro on the internet. Its BETTER than the second title loop that plays if you dont press start on the home screen in nocturne.
I recently started this game for the first time about a month ago with the new remaster, but made it blind to Matador and while I was hooked I was completely unprepared and finding that spike insurmountable. But I read some guides and swapped over from scratch to playing the PS2 version on my Odin2 (save states are a way better perk than no skill rolling and I actually prefer the PS2 look). Anyway I logged over 90hrs, got the true demon ending with an overkill party with 99+ Metatron with pierce, etc and then immediately dumped another 40hrs in new game+. Absolutely amazing month spent playing this, but I fell deeply into using guides and maps and smoothing out a lot of the frustrating dungeon trial and error as much as possible. I know that isn't a very pure experience compared to playing blind on a console and feeling the pain of every random expel death setting you back an hour or being lost in a warp trap dungeon for days, but that kinda tedium tends to diminish my enjoyment more and more these days so no regrets either. Playing Persona 3 now and loving it too for the similarities and differences and can't wait to work through both series newer entries this year. Don't let the frustrating bits scare you if you're a newcomer, use an emulator and experience it immediately, save yourself some frustrations and get hooked on the presentation and battle system. I got my son playing as well and he's up to Lucifer but didn't take my advice to get freikugal so now he's suffering the grind lol.
I heard about this series from a little Weeabo from my old boyscout troop. He was playing SMT:SJ. Funny enough persona 1 was my first game. I got it on psp. Then I got p3p. And then finally I jumped over to smt3. I got walled by Matador like 5 times in the last 10 years. Just last week I beat him for the first time, ND my copy of smt:sj just came in. Definitely gotta thank my old friend S. Thanks buddy.
looks like this took a long time to make, nice video. I couldn't endure the game sadly, made me ragequit even darkest dungeon didn't manage to do that lol. maybe random battles aren't my thing anymore
I bought this game and watched a TH-cam video on it and heard how hard it was and I went right back to persona 4 lmao. I’m not going to play it until I’m done with 4, 5 and metaphor:refantazio.
Love your statement about the Teacher being different from other female characters in SMT. In the first two games, they're mostly just attached to the PC and don't express much independence. It's a holdover from the original MT games, I think, in which the protagonists and female character are supposed to reincarnations of izunami and izunagi.
manual skill inheritance was always in the hd remaster from the beginning and the framerate problems only happened on the switch cause it cant handle all the particles.
Manual skill inheritance was not in the hd remaster initially; it was added in an update. This was all before the English version was released, so the English version launched with it.
40:44 wrong kagutsuchi is an avatar of the great will who has nothing to do with YHVH (who btw is never mentioned in nocturne) other than that good video tho
Persona made its debut in the west with P1, Persona is also still a spinoff, it never had SMT in the title tho, only in the West, in Japan in never had it,(Digital Devil Saga,SH,Raidou and Devil Survivor never had the tag either only in the West) by the time P4G came out thr localization team was better at atlus so non SMT games stopped being called SMT, as shown with P4G,TMS and soon SH2
Yeah once I hit the l prison I looked up a walkthrough for the dungeons lol still had a great experience. Fun game if you know where to go and what to do.
I find it pretty ironic that, in a game about ideologies that are meant to be equal, some are titled "good" or "bad" ending. Kinda missing the point by a mile.
@@Mechassault_Man I can respect that. it was one of the most accessible games in the series. while it is not my Favorite entry in the series, it did keep the series alive long enough for it to get a more recent Mechwarrior sequel as well as a Battletech table top sim. Nocturne is one of my favorite games however I've gotten so lost in a dungeon before I got physically sick and had to quit the game lol. It's the worst in dungeon design out of the smt games I've played. Side note personal head Canon is actually that smt 5 is a sequel to smt nocturne
Your video is great, keep it up Btw nocturne is a great game with awesome combat but the dungeons and labyrinths suck, i hate them. I also got tde on hard difficulty and it was SO frustrating but I did it and I'm proud of myself

I really enjoyed this video. SMT3 is one I gotta try as it's been on my radar for years.
I'm surprised you haven't played it yet. As I said, great game, with some caveats.

I know everything theres to know about this game but I'm just watching for the music lol
smt 3 nocturne is now been 21 years

SMT Nocturne, great game, wish Atlus would let us play the rest on PS4/5, Switch, PC, etc.
Apparently Atlus has been releasing alot of the Last Bible and other early MegaTen games on the Switch...they're not translated, but they are there.

While I have to disagree with you a lot in the gameplay section, overall, this video was a great trip to the past.

Hey, this is pretty good

Still, it's second form is that of YHWH in the other SMT games, so it is not totally wrong
The Dungeon design didn't "age poorly," modern gamers just whine when things are slightly hard.
haha nice that u used superbutterbuns twitch vids hava

What Mechwarrior/Battletech games have played so far?
Just Mechassault on the OG Xbox.
