To respond to Seri, the video is not about informing scientific aspects of what periods are. India, especially in rural areas has a huge ignorance about periods. There are lot of taboos and women are sometimes even ostracised in separate rooms, not allowed in temples etc. The idea of the video I think it's just to answer to the ridiculous notions some people have about a woman on periods, for eg the mom in this video
The restrictions around periods are not just in rural areas, they are unfortunately very common even in urban very well developed cities. It's the people's mindsets that need developing unfortunately!
BNSS KTSS I agree people make an issue out of everything. But think about this the next time you are on your “why is everything an issue rant”. Even in Urban cities, when women are on their periods, they have to leave their self respect, and sit in a corner of the house cause they are untouchable for 3 days. Even getting their own WATER is a crime. You can’t listen to mantras, you can’t attend any of your family gatherings. Hell forget socialising, when you’re back is killing you and you have period cramps, you’re not even allowed your own bed. You have to sleep on a plastic mat on a floor with a thin blanket, cause it’s not practical to wash a thick one every month (no matter how cold it is). Anything you touch will be sprinkled with turmeric water before anyone else can touch it. Trust me, its from personal experience. This is enforced by educated people in the guise of Religion and culture. Somethings have to be a rant, you need to make a loud noise otherwise this treatment of a girl and a woman will continue to be socially acceptable!

The laying down the news paper and not letting her to enter the kitchen is not actually the fear of stain....in India some people consider periods unholy....so everything the person touches during these days is basically dirty in the mind of the person who believes that.... that's why in those days, the girl/women is not allowed to enter kitchen, temples, etc and is allowed to sit in a particular place where nobody else will sit or sleep until it is cleaned after those days end..... and believing those superstitions, some temples even don't let girls/women who has gone through puberty enter the temples, only guys of all age ang girls before getting their periods can...... Interesting right??
Jaby, this is my 13th time. Please react to miss universe pageant 2000. Lara Dutta(India) who got highest ever score in Q&A round till date. Also do movie review of "Sairat".This is shocking.
It's not that india does not have commercials or awareness about periods, it's just that some parents are too ignorant and some people stigmatize this topic. Even I didn't know what it was when I got my first period, I thought I had cancer even that I already had workshops in my school to explain it. But I guess was too immature and my mom thought I was too little to be explained all this at the time.
It is not that video which will change people's mindset like "PADMAN" was meant for ... It just shows different opinions of different people... People can change little bit themselves after watching this but yeah only those who want to... It also shows how a girl's way of taking herself can change with how family wants her to treat herself....
Omg but this is viceversa in my home. Grandma orders not to touch any clothes and rugs and mom be like you can flourish anywhere in your home😂 And the question I always ask my grandma, This isn’t temple right🤪

Jaby, Actually girl's mother had put the newspaper not due to ineffectiveness of the pad but, in India most of the family have these "ethics" where menstruation as a process itself is considered "impure". Hence the girl should not touch "things" in home these days. Jaby, you must be knowing it if you have already watched padman. Anyways this culture is discriminatory .
