  • ANSYS Workbench Tutorial using Explicit Dynamics to model a RC Beam (Reinforced Concrete Beam). Failed elements or cracked and crushed elements are deleted from the model as the analysis is running. Deformation of the Rebar is also shown. This is a high impact test of concrete. I will create a standard beam test video in the future for low speed cracking and crushing of the rc beam in ansys workbench.

Thank you for making one of the few tutorials on damage/explicit modeling in ANSYS.
    I have a questions though:
Do I need to use explicit solver for a tensile failure, too? If yes, how should I define the failure in Ansys? (in abaqus, there are many different ways that I could not find equivalent ones for them in Ansys)
I don't see there is any other way to delete element in the mechanical solver. Is it possible for you to make a tutorial on the failure/fracture of the materials? This is I believe one thing we need the most on TH-cam.

While you input the engineering data, you say that you choose the material from the list of explicit material, because you use explicit solver.
