I had the profound privilege of seeing Jeff Buckley live in 1996. He was not human. Unquestionably one of the greatest losses to music in history. RIP.
How lucky and blessed. What a loss. I’m 40. When all my friends were listening to likin park or was listening to Jeff. I wish I could have seen him live. My heart broke when he died.
@@Goldun-nah I have basically lived for live music for as long as you've been alive. I flew to the other side of the world three times just to see my favourite band, who never toured here. Seeing Jeff in my hometown will always be one of my all time most cherished live music memories.
Je l'ai vu également un an avant, en 1995, en France, à Paris (Olympia). Jamais je n'oublierai ce concert. Je me rappelle de chaque minute comme si c'était hier.
I used to be in the cheer squad for Hawthorn as a child. Literally grew up running round the stands at Glenferry oval So hello my fellow Melbournian. Good to see good taste in footy clubs translates to good taste in music.
The look of astonishment on your face is exactly the right reaction. You really need to listen to the whole actual Grace album. The whole thing is amazing from beginning to end. It's always good to see someone getting into Jeff Buckley for the first time.
Even now, all these years later, I can't think of another album that comes close to how emotionally drained I feel by the end of the second song of Grace. He was tapped into something on a whole other level.
FUN FACT: There is a second "album" that was released by Chris Cornell who was a huge fan. Jeff's mother released all of Jeff's unfinished work for his next album to Chris. Chris mixed and produced a 2 cd set of the work. 1 CD is mixed and produced by Chris. The second CD was raw takes. It's called: "My Sweetheart, the drunk".
I loved this reaction and that you mention learning from some of the great artists that are suggested. Well here is an amazing one to appreciate for sure.
I discovered Jeff as I was training for and performing classical voice. Changed my life music wise - was obsessed with him for years. And he was completely self taught as a vocalist and was a guitar virtuoso primarily before getting into this type of music.
Great analysis as usual Aaliyah. Jeff was so talented, a great loss in the world of music. I always thought he was similar to Alex Lifeson, but with an incredible singing voice.
I loved your reaction and your surprise at Jeff's incredible range. Thx God this was recorded. He is incredible. And this song, in particular, is an excellent example of what an extraordinary talent and range he had.
Another one you did thanks Aileaya!! And sorry name not spelled correct 😂 the album grace is a timeless emotional masterpiece and glad you listening to it 💪🏻💪🏻 want to hear more of you trying to mimic him in reviews!!! Best!
I truly get goosebumps EVERYTIME I hear this song. There is something other worldly about it! His voice is unmatched!! I also like how the song builds.
I waited this entire video just to see the reaction to the outro section. Watching anyone experience that for the first time is always a joy. I had the same reaction when i heard song 30 some years ago for the first time
Have you listened to his father Tim Buckley? He too was a gifted singer/songwriter who died at the age of 28 from a drug overdose. You might be surprised by how similar their voices and styles are.
His dad, Tim Buckley, was also a magnicent singer / songwriter with an incredible voice who passed away way too young. If you want to check him out I suggest Sing A Song For You or Song To The Siren.
Have you checked out Jeff Buckley - The Way Young Lovers Do (Live at Café Sin-e) . That performance has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. He goes places with his voice I think you'll appreciate.
I saw this on the tv show at the time it came out. I was literally gobsmacked. He's a singer's singer no mistake. He could veer off too far sometimes, but this performance is a tour de force.
Geoff was just one of the greatest talents ever, saw him live and it as just other worldly. Also may I suggest The Divinyls, a bit rawer, but talented none the less.
I would love it if you reacted to Triumph-Fight the good fight 1983 U.S. Festival and Zebra-Tell me what you want live 1983 not from same festival(he's got a blue tank top in the thumbnail.)
Wait how is there anyone else out there that has the same love for these 2 songs in 2024?! Such great requests to songs still in my playlist. Saw Triumph in the 80’s a few times and I know they were great even if the memory isn’t clear from those nights. 😂✌️
I recommended you react to Morgan James cover of this on another of your videos. Morgan is a devotee of "the Lyrics" and she uses her vocal talents to express them. She takes songs, strips them down, and makes them her own. Her cover of this is a great example (not to mention her voice and Breath control!) th-cam.com/video/6Mtvo346onw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E7tabwq0n_TmZcsv Oh, and Morgan had to teach herself to Belt as they don't teach it at Juilliard.
Good reaction. Might I suggest you check out something from his father Tim Buckley? Tim was a late 60's folk singer with an amazing four octive range. Both he and Tim ( who did not grow up with him) share similar tonalities. Song To The Siren might be a start.

He was otherworldly-not long for this world-surrounded by mere humans.
I used to be in the cheer squad for Hawthorn as a child. Literally grew up running round the stands at Glenferry oval

@@JaylLaf He was like Prince. Something other than human.
Please please try this one....
He was spectacular. Gone too soon 😢 thank you for the great reaction!
He was a fan of Sufi singers …hence the trill virbrato. Jeff’s only finished album “Grace“, is a wonderfully crafted piece of art!
"Lover, You Should've Come Over" is a masterpiece as well, very cool reaction, thanks for sharing
Please yesss ❤

The Way Young Lovers Do - Live at Sin-é is one other vocal masterpiece by Jeff!
Great call! That album is outstanding, never heard such a rich depth of music come from one man with a guitar
Been waiting FOREVER for you to watch this 😂 so good and still gives me chills !
He has what is probably the definitive version of "Hallelujah" - Pentatonix vocally copies his guitar plucking in their huge version
I’ve been obsessed since I heard him as a teenager all those years ago.
What a great voice he has. Enjoyed your reaction and, as always, great reaction.😊
I discovered Jeff as I was training for and performing classical voice. Changed my life music wise - was obsessed with him for years. And he was completely self taught as a vocalist and was a guitar virtuoso primarily before getting into this type of music.
Love your reaction! greetings from Chile 🤗

He didn't die. He returned to the stars.
you should listed to him singing dido's lament, probably my favorite live from jeff : )

Great reaction to one of my favorite music artists. Died way too young.
God only knows how much I miss this man and all the beautiful music he could have produced.
I waited this entire video just to see the reaction to the outro section. Watching anyone experience that for the first time is always a joy.
I had the same reaction when i heard song 30 some years ago for the first time
i love how jeff gets everyone to the heaven with his voice
Jeff was such a blessing and will always be missed 💙l
His powerful piece, 'Last Goodbye,' calls for your reaction. 🎵😉
Hello from Tagaytay, Philippines. 😁
Have you listened to his father Tim Buckley? He too was a gifted singer/songwriter who died at the age of 28 from a drug overdose. You might be surprised by how similar their voices and styles are.
“Last Goodbye” is his best song imo. Check it out! 🙂
Beautiful as always... I'm smitten.

@GeV7891 "💩"
Oh damn really appreciate it
His dad, Tim Buckley, was also a magnicent singer / songwriter with an incredible voice who passed away way too young. If you want to check him out I suggest Sing A Song For You or Song To The Siren.
And Monterey is also a great song where he improvises more with weird techniques and his vocal range is on full display.
Have you checked out Jeff Buckley - The Way Young Lovers Do (Live at Café Sin-e) . That performance has been a favorite of mine for a very long time. He goes places with his voice I think you'll appreciate.
Welcome to the world of Jeff Buckley!
Amén 🙏

Ya gotta love Jeff.
He plays the guitar professionally.
He has one of the best voices I heard, but I feel like sometimes because of that, people don’t notice how intricate his guitar songwriting is
Ya think?
@1974greymalkin Yes I think his guitar playing is good
Lover you should have come over. Jeff is a legend. He was about to be the biggest artist on the planet before he passed.
🌺🌺🌺
make more jeff reaction
please
Check out the voices of David Sylvian (his solo albums) and Brian Ferry of Roxy Music. I think you may find them interesting.
Thanks so much for the recommendations

I always enjoy your podcast. He reminds me of a guy,Sid Barrett, without the incredible voice
You could really check out his version of Hallelujah. It's the most emotionnal one
❤

HSHSS bruhh her face in the part "so slowwwwwwwwww"
🌺🌺🌺
Led Zeppelin was a major influence on Jeff Buckley.
Please also listen to Tim Buckley’s album (his dad) Greetings From LA 🙏
Hi, Aaliyah. I have reacted to your voice and found it heavenly! Also, how do i suggest a REACTION VIDEO/SONG for you to listen to? Thnx
Never... not once did Jeff in his short life sing the same song. Not once ❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤

you should have herd him do that in a small coffee shop in New York he pulled you out of your body an into another world
If you like Jeff you should check out his dad Tim,
Ouch...
Forrestella. "Piano Man" reaction, please
I'm so jealous....
Good reaction. Might I suggest you check out something from his father Tim Buckley? Tim was a late 60's folk singer with an amazing four octive range. Both he and Tim ( who did not grow up with him) share similar tonalities.
Song To The Siren might be a start.
You should check out í Gøtu Ein Dag performed by Xperiment. Its here on youtube.
you bad as hell
Enjoyed the reaction far more than the song, but I do agree Jeff has an amazing voice!
