Spy 5000 Alarm System on 2007 Yamaha R6 Install

- Installed the Spy 5000m on my bike with the remote start feature.
It is allergy season, sorry for the sniffles.
Relay setup:
30 and 86 are tied together and goto the frame. 85 goes to the blue wire from alarm. 87 goes to starter on bike harness. 87a not used.

thank you so much! I started out printing out my wiring diagram last night and figuring out my connection points but it was way too timy to read so I figured hmm maybe there will be a video for my bike of it. Sure enough there was thanks to you!

when i tested the blue wire fron the relay when i prss the remote starter is givin me 12 v but the bike not still working
i have r6 2006 and im havin a hard time after wirering everything grey and pink wire to red and black cut and the realay conection is my isue
please help me i knew the relay is working and the alarm its working but there is something in wiring not working
I watched this video and i had everything wired without the relay..... Nothing....... went took a relay out of an old car thing fired up first push..... I have an 05 r6 and the wiring is all the same thanks man!!!

hey I know this is from 5 years ago but when you where doing the starter wire did you just t tap that wire in with the kill switch wire its or how did you do that
Hmm. It has been awhile. If I remember correctly. One wire from the alarm t tapped into the kill switch. Another wire from the alarm went to my relay, the relay when triggered bridged the starter wire to complete the starter circuit.
I tried setting it up with the relay, two or three different ways... and it wouldn’t even turnover... I have a 2009 R6, and figured the wiring would all be the same... all of the same wires are in the same spots as the video... am I missing something???
You can try switching the wires on the relay to positive. Need to double check that the starter wiring is the same on the '09. I don't know.

any 12v switched wire will work. meaning you get 12v power when the key is turned on. Doesn't have to be the one I used. it just happened to be cut and had solder on it already.

Hi I am bit stupid I only what the remote the blue and the orange wire,so the blue would go in the on pin 30 of the relay then the ground on 85 and the third wire on 86 to the starter cable right.??
I'm the description is how I did the relay. I don't have the bike anymore, so I can't look. Essentially, you need the relay between the ground of the starter. Blue wire triggers the relay.
SteelTallon from your set I could see you used a 5pin relay but only put wire on 4 of them,I am going to used this 4pin relay

I would but connecting the blue wire from the spy 5000m to pin 86 a power wire from the battery to pin 30 a ground to pin 85 and would be extending a blue wire from pin 87 to the starter wire is that correct?.in your video I see 4 wire connect to your relay.thank you so much for taking the time to reply I am at this for 2 months texting ppl asking but no one reply.
SteelTallon sorry if I have been stupid but there are loads of different color wires on your video,so you are saying I should connect 30 and 86 and ground it to the chassis of the bike the blue wire from the alarm to 85 and then another wire from 87 with would have been a blue to the starter of the bike.thats right yes.

The one I bought was a universal at autozone. Nothing special. Does the bike turn over but just won't start? Is so, did you do the end of the video with my jumper plug on the left side of the bike?

I will add, that by putting the remote start wire in that part of the harness has an added benefit (which I tested). If the bike is in gear the remote start will not work. Therefore, the safety measures are still in place. Can't say that it will work on other year models, though. So, be careful.
SteelTallon where did u purchase the negative relay?
Akeem Bovil you can get a universal relay at an auto parts store. it's how you wire it up that makes it a positive or negative output
SteelTallon I'm assuming after you obtain the relay u must convert the negative wire from the ignition to a positive? then u can tie in the wire from the alarm unit to allow it to turn over the engine after combing the two blue wires?
Akeem Bovil actually the opposite. the blue wire on the alarm is positive. you need to use the relay (acts like a switch really) that produces a negative output to the starter wire in the harness. I just updated the description on how I wired it. take a look

I connected everything like in the video but for some reason starts but the engine won’t looks like the fuel pump wont turn on

If the bike turns over, then I think your relay is fine. Do the lights come on? It just won't start?

I don't know then. Mine did the same thing until I put those 2 wires together at the 4 minute Mark. It's worked ever since.

As for the relay setup, the blue wire was going to the 85 pin, and the battery positive was connected to pin 30, and negative battery connected to 86, and then the 87 pin is what was connected to the blue and white wire towards the front of the bike? Did you use a 4 or 5 pin? If a 5 pin was used I'm assuming 87a was not in use? Thanks for the help!

I take it back. With a little more research I believe the relay it flip the polarity from the positive output to a negative output

yes, in the end. the relay is for a negative output. the blue wire is positive, so you can't use it directly on the starter wire. so, you use the relay. the blue wire triggers the relay. but it's a negative lead to the starter wire
SteelTallon must u buy a separate wire to attach to the relay then splice that wire into the blue harness on the right near the kill switch ?
