I tried to turn family members with weight and health issues on to Dr Bergs videos, mainly just for them to see a different side of things. They looked at me cross eyed and saying I’m radical for going against doctors and what is mainstream knowledge. One of them said, "if Dr Berg is so helpful why is he selling stuff online?" At that point it was time for me to quit talking to a wall and move on. Glad I’m a Dr Berg subscriber and am truly doing well with everything he suggests. Very happy I had an open mind at least.
When I come into contact with the knowledgeable, I ask for product recommendations. I’m sure Dr. Berg was faced with this and realized that the only way he could really be sure the products he recommended stayed true was to own them. I’ve explained to my family that physicians are promoting products and lifestyles that support their careers as well. Like you, I discovered the same temperament in my family. Instead of doing their own research, they just blow him off. Now I just watch them struggle and see them in the examples of disease in Dr. Berg’s video. They’re a circus of idiots that fail to understand the power of someone like Berg who a) knows “how” to think, not just regurgitate what the cult of the medical community spews and b) is passionate enough to keep studying long after the requirement to do so has passed, as when those Dr.s were in school. I dropped my own doctor when he did not have any latest research he could share. They are a bunch of crooks.
clovehitch Well! That’s impressive! I am searching hard for what I’m doing incorrectly, but then again, I can be such a fanatic and probably jumped into this Keto way, whilst missing a key point. I’ve been struggling on keto and just finished a 72 hour fast a lost only 2lbs. I am realizing other health benefits, but not seeing the weight loss whatsoever. The poster child for Adrenalin fatigue. I feel so tired. On people’s thinking - the industry has spent decades and spared no expense brainwashing people and all other industries seemingly support the trash thinking we fight against. People have to start validating what they hear. “When the student is ready, the teacher emerges.” (I forget who said that)
clovehitch That’s helpful! Keeping busy has been key. I’ve started and index card pile of random work to do...mixed in with non-food reward activities also.
Yep. I've had similar reactions when I tried to steer people to Dr. Berg's videos. They all want to know how I lost the weight & how I've been keeping it off, but they can't get get on board with IF. They're uncomfortable with not eating for a few hours....so, they stay fat, whining about their fat.
Thank you so so so much for your much needed videos. May God bless you and your family :) When I actually ran and run into people at work or school who have gone through transformations that are lasting it is always Keto. Bottom line is the proof is in the pudding. Their transformations over 7 years ago have convinced me about Keto. And then my own huge transformation is more proof to me. Your videos are really helping me through any pitfalls and helping me to understand my body better. Your truly a blessing. It is really amazing how anyone can attack the Keto diet with it's huge track record of success. My family members who always attacked Keto are now obese. I'm so glad I did not listen to them and I am not obese. And even though they see my results and good health my obese cousins and aunts still are against Keto. It is as if this horrible commercial industry has really suckered people into their thinking. Even trying to call this science based proven way to eat to stay healthy a fad diet. I sometimes feel angry how people dismiss truth to just hold on to their own preconceived ideas.
Love this video ! Thank you so much Dr. Berg this is the EXACT information I was seeking to help me lose this final weight. I’ve been plateauing for months and it’s really stressful and discouraging, now I know what to change.
Dr. Eric, thanks for the video. I did learn the tips and know how to keep health and good diet by your explanation, especially the chart you showed. It is really nice and clear!!
Awesome! You packed in a lot of information in four minutes. I really love the whiteboard that you use. Because I take a screenshot at the end. Everything you say is really thawed out so you obviously wrote it out and removed any extraneous information. As a technical writer, I appreciate that! Your pace was perfect. And you just really come at me from my level of understanding medicine which is from laymon’s perspective. If you really wanna bring it up a notch, you can give us a call to action of some kind. I know you said do a comment which is good. But maybe something we can do on our own immediately like schedule something into your calendar or drink a glass of water or something I don’t know anyway keep up the great work. I appreciate what you offer!
I have always found the best way to increase metabolism is exercise.... The muscles are the engine that burns the food we eat, the more exercise the more stored energy is burned.... You are of course correct about the exercise intensity.....
Thank you Dr. Berg. I have been researching how to kickstart the Metabolism. What you have said makes a lot of sense to me. Thank you so much for this explanation.
Great Video. Your right. When I was younger and more ACTIVE (Sprinting all the time etc), my metabolism was faster. I am gonna start sprinting to get the high intensity back that will speed up my metabolism
I am a 65-year-old woman and I cannot exercise except for swimming. I have a weak burning rate of 1300 calories and a fatty liver and I lose weight with difficulty. I apply the low-carb diet, unfortunately the results are very slow and unsatisfactory. Thank you, Dr. Berg. @@Drberg
Excellent, just what I was looking for 👍 What Dr Berg means is- While doing your 45 min. HIIT Session, Do several bursts of HIIT say 60 sec on hard then one min rest, then hard then rest over the 45 min. Varying your time spent going hard to shorter burst and then one-min rest until your exhausted or your 45 min is up. Naturally if your not fit enough yet you would not go as hard and would work up to a better fitness level before going all in. My personal advise would be start off @ 20 min sessions then building up your fitness level and duration of exercise done and intensity. I would personally do one day on two days recovery until your feeling fitter lighter and or your breathing gets easier over time. I did this at 20 min intervals every day for six months at 48 yrs and lost 44 lbs. I also did 25 min of weight training each day straight after doing my HIIT as a warm up. After one week it was easier every day. 💪
I grrow eating high carb food all the time, Intel two years ago, i was 298 when I started following your advice,it came down to 282 to 279 that's where bonst around for months I was on some prescription mads, where I had to find a natural solutions to replace that I am now at 264 it is going down but it is really slow but I feel so much better Even if it goes down really slow it's still worthit thank you for all that you do for us
Hi Dr Berg your videos are very logical practical and helpful in understanding metabolism and hence inspires to make the changes in our diet and exercising
I jump rope 10 min a day and then walk for 20 after dinner. I go hard at it and then take rests.. 🙈 I’m so glad I watched this video bc I was thinking about training harder.
They just did a study that basically says for longevity metabolism is a good thing which kind of makes sense. Most people do not want to be fat but the Fast Metabolism is sort of like aging quickly. I'm eating one meal a day and I'm reasonably sure that my metabolism is slowing because of it but I actually like eating one meal a day I don't find it to be a sacrifice at all. It makes leaving the house in the morning a breeze and I get to take a nap during my lunch break. I've reduced my calories by at least 25% which appears to be the level of recommended by the study. I've been doing it for a couple of months and feel fine, and I'm still making gains in the gym. On the weekends I refeed. Just my two cents.
We love Dr. Berg!! Dr. Berg, I thought intense exercise increased cortisol... and increased cortisol is the opposite of what we want. Do you have another video on clearing this up? I have been told i was pre-diabetic. i do intermittent fasting, nutrition is not so good (i'm working on that), i'm doing moderate exercise for 40 minutes. I'm 51 and high intensity exercise is just out of my reach at this time (but i hope to get there). I'm looking to increase my metabolism (obviously), But here, i hear you say something that i thought was something we were to avoid. Thanks!
what foods would you recommend along with the high intensity workouts and longer rest periods, aswell as the amount of calories to intake, with a slower metabolism im guessing you would want to increase amount of calories burnt and decrease consumed but obviously falling into a nutrient deficiency isn’t going to work so eager to hear what your thoughts are on both what foods to consume and the amount of consumption
I had adrenal fatigue. I had run myself down with coffee and diet drinks. Which interfere with my sleep at night it is 249 in the morning and I am awake and cannot sleep, found this video. I did keto and after 2 years was at ideal weight (had 10 lbs to lose). Fasting blood sugar dropped from average 110 to 107. Then I started gaining, and gaining. Haven't found any answers to date, except a yt video which said to eat more to lose weight because it will increase your metabolic rate. I haven't researched that yet. Recently a holistic practitioner said I had lost a lot of muscle mass (I'm older) and had me eating 6 to 8 times a day, no more intermittent fasting, yet with a 1200 calorie diet after I didn't lose weight. That doesn't seem to have helped either. It was a new concept that my metabolic rate may have lowered over those 2 years of keto and thus I gained after. Will have to see if it is a possible solution.
Thanks. I have a question about lose weight. I am 51 years old. Weight 59 kg, high 1.65. Usually I don't eat that much. My daily meal : -Breakfast : glass of spinach juice with lemon every day, and later coffee, (time between 8;00am- 9:00am) -between the meals I drink green, ginger tea with lemon -my lunch and dinner at the same time: hot meal. It could be any healthy food and later any fruits (time between 4:00pm- 5:00pm..) -before go to sleep I drink green, ginger tea with lemon . I workout on treadmill every day 30 min. I really want to lose 3 kg .How can I do it? I hope that you will reply
Humans pay the price for having excessive fat. I easily understood that I was overweight - my BMI was 26. I really had problems which with this channel Practical Health speaks of. Thanks to its explanatory videos I shed 15 kg and really feel younger! My sleep and mood become better!

Any possibility you could do a video on what to do for increased metabolism and fat burning when you first wake up? I've been watching all your videos and think I have an idea now on how to live healthier (as a 52 yr old male) regarding diet, exercise, testosterone do's & don'ts, etc. But I'm completely lost on how to implement everything I've learned from your videos when I first wake up. Should I stay fasted and work out before eating? Should I eat certain things to kick start my metabolism? Do I need a certain time before any coffee? Any supplements I should put down my throat when I first roll out of bed? Any help would be much, much appreciated. Thanks!
Love the video....Thank you for sharing the great information. Dr. Berg can Goat Rue throw your hormones off??? Please do a video on Goat Rue? Thank you Dr. Berg!!!! Love watching your videos👍👍👍
I wish I could find help...I'm so frustrated. I'm naturally pretty anemic (blood disease) but I've learned to manage it. Never had an issue with weight until I hit age 45, I gradually developed horrible digestion issues after removal of my gallbladder in my late 20's. I intermittent fast but I was doing this before it was a thing as I've always had minimal appetite. I'm basically a vegan but I did recently add eggs back into diet as I wasn't getting enough calories or protein (no other dairy). I usually eat one or two meals on a good day (again I have always been this way) My quality of life sucks, I retain massive amounts of water, bone pain, headaches, mental fog, mood swings, thinning hair, fingernail spooning, dry itchy skin, exhaustion but I barely sleep (which has sporadically been a problem my whole life) I've been very active my whole life but less so this last year due to depression about my ever growing health issues. I've researched & researched. I've tried every herbal supplement, changing to vegan diet worked at first for about a year then weight gain came back with avengence and brought friends. I don't know what to do...any suggestions? I did go the medical route at first but doctors kept giving new prescriptions that brought on new issues without resolving anything I felt like an drug addict and it was bankrupting me...see it's a vicious circle...arghhh!!😠😢😭
