  • This was a somewhat unexpected outing from The Apartments, announced only two weeks in advance and in a ‘secret’ location. The band was in trio mode - Tim Kevin on guitar, vocals and Yamaha grand piano, Jeff Crawley on flugelhorn, trumpet and percussion, and Peter Milton Walsh on lead vocals, guitar and piano.
The venue turned out to be an old church (thank you The Red House) with wonderful ambience and great acoustics. Two sets were played, a total of 15 songs, including three songs from the band’s upcoming album, “That’s What the Music is For”. The song arrangements were sublime. Highlights for me were “Swap Places” and a new song, “Afternoons”. Sadly, I didn’t capture either of these songs but I did record:
    Butterfly Kiss (00:14)
    Please, Don’t Say Remember (06:16)
    On Every Corner (09:53)
Thank You for Making Me Beg (13:52)
Write Your Way Out of Town (18:03)
    Pocketful of Sunshine (22:09)
The room was packed but there was absolute silence. We were all there to worship the music. The perfect way to spend a Sunday evening.

The old church has added its own ambience to this performance and it adds to the poignancy of the tracks, but in a warm way. It's lovely seeing these songs performed. Thanks for sharing.

It was a lovely venue and a terrific night. I really liked the 'trio' version of the band. Thanks for commenting.
