I have to think that 2008-2014 was the best time for software engineering. From what I've seen the smartest people were making real contributions at the time. Software engineering has kind of become a shadow of itself since then.
These two guys are awesome presenters. Their talks are very interesting and they are very natural delevering them.
Very good talk, one of the best of its kind. Wish to hear more from you from podcasts etc!
Great talk, totally summarized all the key ingredients of good leadership !
These two guys always give nice and interesting talks!
In my personal experience, splitting guys having personal issues is best way to deal with it. You can't really make them friends. Speak to them, tell them why changes are being made. Ask for preferences if any and keep both happy.

Nice explaination...Very useful..
Hi @all
At 40:10 they mention "mindstorm Robot contest" to motivate the team.
But how is it done?
And how is it calculated?
Does it mean that the company pays for the fun of the team or is this happening in the free time --> After 9 Hours of Work the whole team stays even longer in the office to build a mindstorm robots???
Or does this approch function only in companys where employees do not have time cards?
42:00 - Managing your Manager - good tips!
Good talk
employees are not like children but they are like plants!! interesting use of analogies in different context.
8:22. So basically, the software engineering profession is doomed. If the stereotype about programmers is true (that they are purely technically oriented and socially incompetent), then where would the proficiency to properly manage the human side of things come from once a software engineer (or a professional from any technical domain) is inserted into a managerial type position?
Slides please 😀
o.k. at least they went to school worked very hard to-make something from themselves.
