the Central Zoo Authority had cancelled the VOC Zoological Park’s recognition in January 2022 after the city corporation failed to maintain it properly and create infrastructure. The park had been closed for visitors since then.Some of the birds and reptiles from the VOC Zoological Park in the city were shifted to the Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Chennai and the Amirthi Zoological Park in Vellore on Friday.
