Breckinridge dudes are absolute beasts. They deserve their shot status back. Their Supt is an absolute stand up dude. My first fire I saw how a seasoned salty dog laced their boots and mimicked it. Rock it to this day. Thanks boys
Colorado raised! Marathon & weights and all basic certs completed at 17. Im almost ready to start applying! Been waiting far too long to actually be on a fire.
I plan on becoming a fire fighter soon. I'm signing up for 6 months training getting a year of experience in. Then I'm becoming a hotshot. Its gonna be fun training will be intense but its worth it!!! This is awesome good job on the video!
Sleep deprivation is a guarantee. Not exactly days but shifts can get extremely long. 36 hour responses are not atypical and going over 24 hours on minimal sleep is common.
@@jimmylive I would love doing what you do. I have too get sufficient sleep. Is this also true for Type II? Are there ways to get on a crew besides the USFS?

James Lazaro what’s the best way to get all the qualifications
Is it pretty much guarantee you will have to go days without sleep on this job?
Sleep deprivation is a guarantee. Not exactly days but shifts can get extremely long. 36 hour responses are not atypical and going over 24 hours on minimal sleep is common.
@@jimmylive I would love to do this, but I can't go without sleep for more than a day or two .

It’s true of all crews. Yes the BLM, the BIA, and even certain counties have crews. There is also private and contract crews.
@@jimmylive Is BIA the Bureau of Indian Affairs?

Cheers!
Sickkkk
I see you Alec you cute little mountain man
Do you happen know how the government buys chainsaws through stihl? I was just wondering if it’s through dealerships or one big order?
I wish I knew more about this Chris but I don’t. I think it comes down to the crews needs at the time and place.
