Tbh I feel like there's a difference between nepotism and privilege. You get preferentially treatment and better opportunities because your parents are already famous/big in the industry. And I think it's important to recognize both, but they aren't the same.
Nepotism is favoring relatives or friends, especially to give them jobs. There's a big overlap between fame and being very rich. While rich people are not known to the general public, they are known to producers, execs etc and have many connections just like famous people. It doesn't really matter if the public knows who your parents are for you to take advantage of nepotism

As a professional wrestling fan, the ways different industries view nepotism is always fascinating to me. Coming from a wrestling family is a form of pride and typically embraced. While people fight to establish their own legacies within the industry, it’s generally exciting to see another family member debut. This compared to the way the film and music industries seemingly do everything in their power to hide their nepotism babies is a weird and stark contrast. Like why not just embrace that you have the resources to get you where you wanna go?
now let’s talk about a TRUE double dipper who is currently making her rounds and getting her dues: Maya Hawke I THINK she is a great actress and she’s got so much potential to grow too! Would love to hear your thoughts!
Taylor's dad was a broker I'm pretty sure & he bought 3% of stocks in the label Taylor got signed on & was the first artist to be signed on to the new label. Marc Platt produced DEH film but isn't a producer for the musical.
at what point is it an age thing when you don't know someone is a nepo baby over like a talent thing? and also different levels of nepotism, like your parent works in the industry vs your family is multi-generational Hollywood royalty? things i ponder sometimes (rarely)
You need to talk about Lily Rose Depp if you do this again considering she has her own thoughts on this topic. Would also love to see Elizabeth Olsen on the list, I think she's opportunity meets talent but would love to hear your thoughts.
Shout out to a great representation of talent beats opportunity. Maya hawk like she is HOT, an amazing actress, and a beautiful singer, just she is perfect.
i think Maya hits the same problem as Ben Platt, like, her parents are UMA THURMAN and ETHAN HAWK!!!! even though I truly think Maya is absolutely talented and unic, you can not beat the impact her parents have in the film industry.
Nothing against her, but what? She seems so much more cthankful than most nepo babies he r let he real. Maybe I haven’t seen her act in enough stuff but she did get a lead role in a hit show with no experience compared to most actors
My thing with this is that Uma Thurman had a literal whole song inspired by and named after her by a super well-known band. Can anyone really beat that influence?
Don’t forget Hailey Beiber maternal grandpa is a famous Brazilian composer who made music with age am Sinatra. She is full nepo baby on both sides of her own family.
y’all missed maya hawke! like come on ethan hawke as your father and UMA THURMAN AS YOUR MOTHER?? i don’t know if i want to be her or be with her at this point. but i think she’s a good actress, that podcast show she did (or was on) was good, and her music is interesting with her own kind of touch and i think it’s like talent meets opportunity cuz i mean, uma thurman?
I honestly had no idea about Ben Platt because he is insanely talented. When I think of nepotism, I'm sorry but I'm a big hater of Miley Cyrus. She was just an average girl given an opportunity which grief her get past certain hurdles. I completely disagree. Just because she has been far more successful, that doesn't mean that that's where her talent was when she first got in the door and subsequently was surrounded by people writing catchy songs.
But she is one of few nepo babies who never stop improving her crafts, she might be “average” (not average imo, having that courage, stamina, dedication, & charisma since 11 y.o? As both HM and MC?) during the start of HM but she is not average now no matter how you hate her. And she is very aware of her privilege as a nepo baby of BRC. She deserves every credit they gave her.
i would love to hear your thoughts on the Maddie Ziegler(?) & Sia......thing? as an autistic person, i was originally super upset with Maddie for taking the role in Sia's film Music, but then hearing about the poor girl crying on set about how she felt she was making fun of us and wanted to stop and how Sia wouldn't let her, i felt horrible. i have FEELINGS about Sia.....
Also the fact sia lowkey kinda groomed her from a young age and her mom made her Maddie’s godmother and let them have sleepovers… all of it was so weird so I feel bad for Maddie
I honestly barely count Taylor as a nepotism baby. Unfamous, unkown parents, and literally became the music industry itself, thats self made baby. otherwise love this video!
I really like Taylor and I think she's super talented, obviously. But mom and dad's money really helped her to start her career. That being said, that's the less damaging type of nepotism but nepotism nonetheless.
i think noah is so talented and i think her opportunities have possibly been shattered by being overshadowed by her sister who already reaped the rewards before she got the chance so i think she deserves opportunity meets talent but putting her next to ben feels wrong LOL
I agree. She is definitely overshadowed by her sister. But, her songs are somewhat forgettable. I’m sure she’ll get there one day but she’s currently not there. Though I think she should have been out under talent meets opportunity, because she has the talent, she just has the difficult job of escaping her families shadow
I think that being a Cyrus might have done things more difficult to her rather than helping her. Yes, it gave her the opportunity, but she is constantly being compared to miley. But i think she is making something that she really enjoy and make her happy now, and I personally love it, always loved her music, in all her eras.
I think Noah is so talented! Her voice...god, it's so angelic and well used. The lyrics of her songs are so absurdly professional. Her latest album is magnificent (The Hardest Part). And I dare say she is the best of the Cyrus family.
Was surprised not to see Hailee Steinfeld. Amazing actress and singer but also cousin to Emmy Award winning actress Tue O'Brien and niece to actor and fitness personality Jake Steinfeld.
You put Jaden lower than Willow even though Jaden’s music is amazing & he does good for people like with his water thing & giving out food and not being in conflicts
I think it’s sad on the talent we miss out on. We think a lot of these people are so talentsed which they do have some talent, but most would be nothing without a name. Becoming something without having those connections will always just be far more impressive
miley cyrus barely got paid, and they dragged that 15(?) year old on like 100 plus concerts, i swear, shit was crazy, she IS HANNAH MONTANA!! legend, her wrecking era was uhhh something tho ah ha ha ha....
Noah Cyrus over talent? Please…definitely not true. It’s okay if you don’t hear her current songs but she’s really talented and amazing lyricist. This year she sold out her US Tour for her new debut album “The Hardest Part” and next year she will do Europe and South America Tour. I suggest you guys to give her a try! ☺️
Well without the opportunity and resources given to her, you would even know less about her. Her talent needs to create achievements in order to have people recognize her talent. Like her sis, no one would doubt her talent when she mashed at the age 14
@@angelicalicari8355 she honestly was just there, she never really did anything and never really engaged in politics outside of supporting her dad, but other than that ya she mostly wanted nothing to do with all of this
I think that Emma Roberts isn’t as big as Julia Roberts or even like her because she doesn’t try to be. It took me forever to even realize they were even related. I love Emma so I’m being objective but I love her humor and acting style and I don’t think she’s comparable to Julia because they are in different realms. All of this is to say the fact that so many people don’t even realize they are related gives more credit to Emma’s name in my opinion.
taylor swift isn’t a nepotism baby period. I know so much about that woman and I know she worked hard to get where she is and her family had no position of power in the music industry. She preformed everywhere she could and started by writing music for people and was discovered just by singing in a small bar. Sure her parents had money to move her to Nashville but that’s it
THIS. Nepotism is about having the power and influence to be granted opportunities other people would have to work for YEARS to get and might never even get them, and Taylor Swift's family has never been in that position. Being wealthy and privileged doesn't make you a nepotism baby unless your family can get you any job by making some calls! And that's not about the money but the influence they hold.
Miley Cyrus is incredibly talented, I'm glad to see her at the top of your list. Someone else has given an extensive list covering all the names I'd have had on my list so I'll give it a "like" and hope it ends up being seen.
I is also literally just found out Emma roberts was related to Julia roberts last night. I was watching a Ted Nivison video and he was talking about a really bad low budget Halloween movie with Eric Roberts (Emma Robert’s dad) in it and my mom told me that Eric Roberts was related to Julia Roberts in someway so I looked him up and also ended up finding out he was Emma Roberts father as well as Julia Roberts brother. He was in a lot of stuff in the 80s and has been in some SUPER low budget movie that seems like someone’s dad hired local kids from a community theater and there parents to act in it. To be fair though in the newest video by Ted about Christmas movies that he was also in some of those younger kids playing elves were honestly serving and seemed to be having the time of their life.
I've never heard a Noah Cyrus song I didn't like. Tbh she's just as talented, if not more, then her sister - but they probably protected her from the madness Miley went through. Check out: on mine, live or die, July..... She has some of the greatest recent collaborations
Patrick Schwarzenegger is super chill, and close friends with a friend of mine. He’s very intellectual and kind of a nerd, and is chill to be around. His acting is… less than great. But he’s neat.
need to know thoughts on models like Kendal Jenner, Bella and Gigi and Lily-Rose Depp, now that another model called them out after Lily did an interview "adressing" nepotism. TBH, in my opinion, good for them, but its like just dont pretend like you didnt have help along the way. Like Kendall saying that being a Kardashian actually made her chances worse and she had to "work harder", i mean cmon. Anyways, love you guys and your videos!
I love Maya but I don´t think that she can beat those two iconic actors yet. Maybe in the future but for now she would definitely just be opportunity meets talent.
MARC PLATT DID NOT PRODUCE THE BROADWAY DEAR EVAN HANSEN!!!! JUST THE MOVIE! Pleeease Stop spreading that lie around again! Ben got Evan on B 'way because he was in Pitch Perfect, Book of Mormon, etc. and also was remembered by the creators of DEH for the part because of an incredible audition he did for them earlier on. You can think what you want about the DEH movie but Ben deserved all of the accolades that he received for the stage run.

now let’s talk about a TRUE double dipper who is currently making her rounds and getting her dues:
Maya Hawke
I THINK she is a great actress and she’s got so much potential to grow too! Would love to hear your thoughts!
Taylor's dad was a broker I'm pretty sure & he bought 3% of stocks in the label Taylor got signed on & was the first artist to be signed on to the new label.
Marc Platt produced DEH film but isn't a producer for the musical.
chet hanks was “the nerdy guy jade kisses in the bratz movie” and then 2020 happened and i went “wait that’s tom hanks’ son?”
We need a part two, this was way too hilarious!
i’m okay with nepotism babies as long as they have actual talent !!
I already wanna see a part 2!! I only recently realized that lily colins was phil colins daughter (no idea how i didnt notice).
I think there's also a decided difference between having someone open the door for you vs someone bringing a battering ram and forcing your way in.
at what point is it an age thing when you don't know someone is a nepo baby over like a talent thing?
and also different levels of nepotism, like your parent works in the industry vs your family is multi-generational Hollywood royalty?
things i ponder sometimes (rarely)
im sorry but emma roberts is talent MEETS opportunity. she is a fucking queen.
Drew Barrymore is the poster child for nepotism babies. Her family “The Barrymores” have been famous in movies/Broadway since 1874.
I'm watching every video on this channel rn, I've been waiting all day for today's video to be posted, I love your channel!
oh yeah, I also found this channel 3 days ago and am already obsessed😅
OH MY GOD SCREAMING RN I GOT A LIKE FROM THEM AAAAAA *dies*
You need to talk about Lily Rose Depp if you do this again considering she has her own thoughts on this topic. Would also love to see Elizabeth Olsen on the list, I think she's opportunity meets talent but would love to hear your thoughts.
my heart literally aches at how talented miley is. ts INSANE
I think she's average looking, an average actress, an average singer but she's got a good attitude and acknowledged her privilege, so I like her.
I've seen some people saying Maya Hawke and she's a good one. Also Billie Lourd via Carrie Fisher via Debbie Reynolds
Liza Minelli is an amazing actress and singer and so was her mother, Judy Garland.
@@lunalounder6 more privilege than nepotism I'd say. her dad had money and that's how she got her foot in the door, not because of her name
"In this case Ivanka was double dipping too" WTF RYAN 💀💀💀
Can u explain that lol
id also like an explanation
@@Nyx_404 yeah I'm not explaining that😂
Don’t be embarrassed, Sam. I was today-years-old when I found out the Roberts connection. And that is because of you. 😂
i think noah is so talented and i think her opportunities have possibly been shattered by being overshadowed by her sister who already reaped the rewards before she got the chance so i think she deserves opportunity meets talent but putting her next to ben feels wrong LOL
I agree. She is definitely overshadowed by her sister. But, her songs are somewhat forgettable. I’m sure she’ll get there one day but she’s currently not there. Though I think she should have been out under talent meets opportunity, because she has the talent, she just has the difficult job of escaping her families shadow
I think she has less talent than her sister, but still a considerable amount on her own. The hard part is that people will always compare the two
I think that being a Cyrus might have done things more difficult to her rather than helping her.
@@tandfadams5535 i have to disagree just for july it’s so beautiful
My fav TH-camrs/performers right there ❤❤xx
justice for emma roberts, she was amazing in scream queens
Was surprised not to see Hailee Steinfeld. Amazing actress and singer but also cousin to Emmy Award winning actress Tue O'Brien and niece to actor and fitness personality Jake Steinfeld.
Ohh do a part 2! With Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooklyn Beckham, Maya Hawke, and LIly-Rose Depp!
Slight correction: Unless there is something I’m missing, Marc Platt did not produce the musical of DEH, just the movie.
Chet Hanks is my favourite star of the hit movie Bratz
I love this video! I think you guys should do a part 2 with Gwyneth Paltrow, Maya Hawke and more ❤
miley cyrus barely got paid, and they dragged that 15(?) year old on like 100 plus concerts, i swear, shit was crazy, she IS HANNAH MONTANA!! legend, her wrecking era was uhhh something tho ah ha ha ha....
Your videos always put me in such a good mood. I love how you two interact with each other, it's so refreshing and fun! 😄
For part 2: I haven't seen her name in the comments yet, but I'd suggest Stella McCartney 🤷🏻♀️
(I personally would put her in top tier, though)
ryan being absolutely flabberghasted abt Ivanka is fcking hillarious
You need to see Zoe and Lilly Rose quotes about making it and how their parents didn't help
I’m curious what you’d say about Maude Apatow and Iris Apatow
Noah Cyrus over talent? Please…definitely not true. It’s okay if you don’t hear her current songs but she’s really talented and amazing lyricist. This year she sold out her US Tour for her new debut album “The Hardest Part” and next year she will do Europe and South America Tour.
I suggest you guys to give her a try! ☺️
Well without the opportunity and resources given to her, you would even know less about her. Her talent needs to create achievements in order to have people recognize her talent. Like her sis, no one would doubt her talent when she mashed at the age 14
Some of your videos have WILD concepts. And I love it.
That was beautiful 😂 the last one, she even just said she wants nothing to do with politics ever again 😂
Yeah, Ivanka felt like she also belonged in the fourth tier "do you even want this"
@@angelicalicari8355 she honestly was just there, she never really did anything and never really engaged in politics outside of supporting her dad, but other than that ya she mostly wanted nothing to do with all of this
I think that Emma Roberts isn’t as big as Julia Roberts or even like her because she doesn’t try to be.
Sure her parents had money to move her to Nashville but that’s it
agree! her family had some money but zero connection or names in the industry -- that was all down to her talent, hard work, and sadly, scooter
You forgot Maude Apatow (daughter of Judd apatow and Leslie Mann
Was in many of judds movies (this is 40, knocked up, and starred in euphoria)
Don’t forget Pete Davidson’s movie he directed
I’d love to see a part 3 if you’re interested. People like Jane Fonda, Drew Barrymore, Janie Gyllenhaal and Maggie
Make a part 2!! With Lily Depp, Lily Collins… there are so many more!!
Bryce Dallas Howard, Micheal Douglas, Drew Barrymore, Tracee Ellis Ross, Carrie Fisher, George Clooney, and Nicholas Cage
part 2, part 2, part 2!!! I love this kind of stuff!!!
Shocked to not see Liza Minnelli here. I think y’all need to do a part two
Taylor swifts dad isn’t a label exec though… I’m so confused about how this rumor even started lmao.
I love Ryan’s necklace! Also sam is glowing!! You guys are the cutest
I'm just realizing ryan didn't say hi daddy 😭
The amount of raw talent I've seen go down the drain due to lack of opportunities and resources is insane.
love that i made the Ivanka trump jokes for Ryan
6:53 I get where they are coming from but July and lonely are some of the best songs in the world
I've never heard a Noah Cyrus song I didn't like. Tbh she's just as talented, if not more, then her sister - but they probably protected her from the madness Miley went through. Check out: on mine, live or die, July..... She has some of the greatest recent collaborations
Her new album is one of my favorites that came out this year.
I'm gonna need like 20 parts to this
Maya Rudolph - Talent beats opportunity
Absolutely loved this video! Please do another one.
No, No, share your thoughts on Invaka's nepotism I need to know!!
Gonna be honest, I did not know Emma Roberts was related to Julia Roberts.... I knew 2 Emma Roberts in my same grade back in elementary school.
A wonderful example of telent beats opportunity is Maya Hawke, daughter of Ethan Hawke and Uma Therman, amazing actress and singer.
I love Maya but I don´t think that she can beat those two iconic actors yet. Maybe in the future but for now she would definitely just be opportunity meets talent.
lol i haven’t even started and just the way the title is is hilarious😂😂
You missed maya Hawke and lily depp!
I would like a part 2! Or make this a series! There’s def a lot of nepotism babies, maybe venture into other countries too?
MR. RYAN MCCARTAN, U R AN ICON I LOVE U
My favorite nepo baby will always be Jamie Lee Curtis
THE OUTFITS OML
Icon is a great song, Jayden should be higher IMHO
not only icon, but the whole SYRE album, and other albums too!! he's very talented artist and great man
MARC PLATT DID NOT PRODUCE THE BROADWAY DEAR EVAN HANSEN!!!!
!!!!!We need a part 2!!!!!!!
