    I have mixed feelings about nepotism babies. On one hand it's incredibly unfair that some people get handed incredible opportunities simply by being born into the right family, on the other if one or both of my parents we super rich and/or famous I would probably expect them to help.

    • @nganluo6365
      @nganluo6365 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2703

      And some of them are really talented and actually deserve recognition, but on the other hand it it really makes you think if they would be where they are if it wasn't because of their connections since how many talented models, actors, etc. just got lost in the hoard of people who are trying to make it or they just didn't get a chance to shine.

      That's why I don't hate someone for being a nepo baby cause if I had the parents to propel me into the industry I want to be in, I'll take it in a heartbeat. The most important to me is that they are aware of their privilege, work as hard as someone who worked from the ground up, and that they have a kind/sweet personality.

    • @genoswest7253
      @genoswest7253 2 ปีที่แล้ว +279

      @@yleilaf.a7967 Sadly I think it doesn’t matter if their heart is in the right place because no matter what, they’ll take up spaces from non nepotism kids. Like just their last name gives them privilege in an audition. Someone else could do just the same if not better but just having the last name Jolie would get you the role. I think it’s impossible to be a product of nepotism and work as hard/check your privilege(to an extent), at the same time. However, I don’t think it’s their fault but the fault of Hollywood and how it’s built. It’s unfortunate but hopefully in the future this won’t be the case :^(
      edit: I think the only thing they could do is just be extremely honest about it, and maybe turn down every other role they get (or just not audition as frequently as normal) ?? IDK it’s hard for sure !!

    You should definitely look into Drew Barrymore’s life story, it’s actually one of the most heartbreaking yet inspiring stories ever. She was an alcoholic at 9, she began smoking weed at 12, went into rehab several times before she turned 20, was taken to nightclubs as a child by her mother so she would party with adults doing adult things, was abused by both of her parents, was poor for a good chunk of her life, had a drug addict for a father who was actually kicked out by her mother during altercation that got violent and she was emancipated from her mother in her late teens. Idk if she belongs her because of this… yea she’s related to famous people but her life is worse than most. She’s done more than just an extensive acting career and a talk show, she also has a makeup/beauty brand and is a full on hippy(minus the weed). She fought to get to the place that she’s at now, she fought hard. She’s a badass and a legend in her own right. I will take a bullet for her, that’s how much love and respect that I have for her. She’s what I aspire to be. Drew Barrymore is a warrior and a champion.

      Exactly. I think also there’s something to be said about pretending to be successful on your own merit vs. being aware that you are able to be famous in some part due to your relations. One of the examples that comes to my mind is maya hawke. She’s aware and fine with pointing out her nepotism from her parents while also being able to back up her parents. Whereas if you look at Ben platt (while talented) tried to hide the nepotism that gives him so many opportunities
      I don’t know if that makes sense or not

    The extent of Drew Barrymore's nepotism baby-ness is absurd. Her grandfather, John Barrymore? Originally didn't want to go into acting because everyone else in his family was. This was in the early 1900's. He's also related to the Drew family (where Drew gets her first name), who were important in American theater scene as actors and such since the 1860s

Her parents weren't big Hollywood actors, they were small time actors that struggled financially (which is why they didn't have enough room in the house for all of them).
