Could this cause overfueling from 1 injector?
Ok? So why adjust/tighten the injector's on a diesel pd engine, there's a few videos on this subject but no explanation why??
Very informative video. I have learnt a lot from watching your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Glad it was helpful!😊
Are they adjusted at TDC or BDC? This wasn't clear from the description given.
Rotate CAM until the rear of the roller of the rocker arm is at its highest point...
Hello! Is it not necessary to use an indicator dial? How do you know when the injector is fully actioned?
1) remove rocker cover
2) Rotate CAM until the rear of the roller of the rocker arm is at its highest point... (thus compressing the injector the most). Rotate the engine clockwise only, and only by turning the engine at the crank bolt. Remove glow plugs for easier turning.
3) screw the adjusting screw in all the way in until resistance is felt
4) turn the adjusting screw BACK 180 degrees
5) maintain position of adjusting screw and tighten the lock nut
6) repeat the procedure 1-5 with the other 3 injectors
This is how we do adjustments without indicator dial. If you don't feel comfortable with our procedure, please get support from an authorized workshop.
Best regards!
@MagicStick You don't really need a DTi
Hi! Your channel is very interesting. My husband will definitely make use of your channel. Great tips!
Great video.
One question: should rockers constantly touch injectors during the rotation? because i have noticed that there is a little gap between rocker and injector on my tdi, and rocker has some free movement during the rotation cycle.
the gap allows for heat expansion
Thanks brother
So I did everything exactly, and the engine starts and works perfectly but I have no power. Check't everything from turbo, vacuum valeve, vacuum lines. Everything, absolutely everything is fine. Yet I have no power when accelerating it's as if I don't have a turbo on 😢
thank you it helped me i had no idea on how to adjust them
Funny my engine just went out in my truck! New friend here to support.
I thought my cam was worn but turns out the ball pin on top of the injector had stuck in the roller adjuster screw. Now the screw and pin are totally different to another set I have in my garage and I can't find anything online about them. The pin is twice as long and goes inside the adjuster screw quite a bit. I was able to interchange them but could the early PD injectors have been different like this?
I don't see you using a dial tester indicator are you just judging by eye the lowest point of compressed spring tryna figure out till I do me own
What if the injectors have been reconditioned? Im putting a set back in but the part that meets the adjustment screw is sitting very proud to the injector spring, is this normal?
ive just done my seals and ive got a nasty tick from the rocker cover - so going to try this! Watch this space!
Very Cool video thank you for this
Can you make a video on replacing the valve seals on a VW PD engine without removing the cylinder head?
Great work thanks for sharing with us
SO HOW THEY UNSCREW IF NEEDED TO SCREW SO MUCH TO 'CALIBRATE' ?
what does adjusting the injectors do
Thats also what I am trying to find out
Hello, is it 180 for the 5 cylinder 2.5 Bnz engine please? Great video, thanks
yes, this procedure is for all turbodiesel VAG with Pumpe Duse (pump injectors) even 5 liter V10 TDI VW Touareg 1st gen.
I like your video it's very informative
I have a code p0302 on my VW pd engine! Esporadic missfire on the 2 cilinder! Can this be my problem or the injector wiring harness is more possible as it's a esporadic error! Thanks so much ☺️🙏
Could be wires or injector not operating proper. Did u find the problem
Thank you for sharing☺
My pleasure 😊
Great job buddy.
Thank you! Cheers!🙏
Helpful clip this is
By making this adjustment, does it inject more fuel?
It ensures ignition timing, that the injectors start spraying at the right consise time
Is the engine hot or cold when you adjust?
Cold... The engine was cold when we did the adjustments.
@@BuddyMechanics thanks - i will try your methode on My skoda Octavia BKD 2.0 TDI
@@pawknudsen3902 did you try on the BKD? Is it the same procedure?
thank you buddy
Any time!
What about 16v engine?same 180 degrees?
In 16v 2.0tdi 103kw it is 225 degrees
Is this adjust the same on 2.0 sdi engine
Yes
Informative 💯
If these are out of spec could it cause rough idle and vibration in the cabin?
Did u get an answer to this bruh? I'd also like to know.
I'm having same issue.i have checked my values an no 2 is it .
Did u get an answer to this bruh? I'd also like to know.
What does this do please?
I though it's 90°
Isn't it?
My car consuming to much fuel
Should have canceled the 4motion
Its as on a bkd engine and it works fine 👨🔧💪🏻
on BKD it is 225 degrees back, not 180 as in this video
@@dovalad 225 is for Siemens injectors, 180 for Bosch ones. It explains that in the AutoData.
What would be a sign of needing to adjust the injectors?
engine shake at idle
Dose that work on a 04 tdi bew?
This Engine was used in the following cars:
2002-2005 VW New Beetle

We don't remember to see this engine in our workshops, but from it's description (1.9 Diesel TDI Turbocharged Inline-4 SOHC Unit Injector (PD - Pumpe Düse) 100HP) we say that's same procedure.😊
180? OR 225? degrees?
180 degrees

if you tighten wrong, you risk damaging the pd injector ( inside pump ), can you explain what happens if you tighten more than manufacturer specs? lets say 90 degrees...
@@ioflorinio you have to check the specs for you engine in a workshop software like Autodata... If do not feel safe, please go to an authorized workshop and let a certified mechanic do to the job.. regards 😊
@@ioflorinio as you said above, you will damage the injector... our video is for informative propose... This is how we adjusted the injectors for this engine... We don't say to anyone to do like this or that is the right way... This is just how we did this and it worked perfectly.😊 Cheers mate!
Lol "first"how do you rotate the engine
Crank pulley nut
💕
Se pricepe tati la mecanică😁🙃
