  • In this video I show you how to get pretty decent results while painting World Eaters Eightbound Chaos Space Marines, just using easy techniques.
    I used a mix of Citadel and Two Thin Coats paints but provided alternatives for each.
    Paints used:
    2tc=Two Thin Coats
    Red - Flesh Tearers Red, Wazdakka red, Wild Rider Red
    Gold - Dragon’s Gold(2tc) or Retributor Armour, Glistening Gold(2tc) or Liberator Gold, Mythril Blade(2tc) or Stormhost Silver
    Black - Black Legion, Dawnstone
    Skin - Guilliman Flesh, Dwarven Skin(2tc) or Cadian Fleshtone, Elven Skin(2tc) or Kislev Flesh
    Green cables - Warpstone Glow, Moot Green
    Bone/teeth - Dragon Fang(2tc) or Zandri Dust, Skeleton Legion(2tc) or Ushabti Bone, Screaming Skull
    Washes - Agrax Earthshade, Nuln Oil, Carroburg Crimson
    Base - Stirland Mud, Baneblade Brown

    Excellent vid as usual. I’m loving the new world eater units and can’t wait to pick some up for myself.

      Thanks, much appreciated! The new models are great. If I could do something different, I’d leave the armour off while painting. It was a pain to get in at the neck.

    This is a fantastic video. I've just gotten back into 40k after taking a long break after battle fleet gothic first came out because of life then did scale modeling for a while and seeing how much has changed especially techniques I feel a little lost and like I'm learning all over again and videos like this that are simple and descriptive are so useful. Thanks and blood for the blood god

      Thanks very much, I’m really glad you liked it! Welcome back to the hobby. A lot has changed, but it’s still just the basics: take your time and be neat and tidy and anything will look great. Good luck on your journey!

    Great video Simon - Hopefully this will help someone get over that initial fear and get picking up a brush! Really liked the inclusion of paint cards and alternative recommendations.
    I still feel AK Intense Black is the black-to-end-all-blacks but we'll agree to disagree on that!

      Thanks James, i'd just feel bad if people couldn't embark on a cool project through fear. You and I know how great it is to paint something you're proud of.
      I just like Black Legion because it covers so well and I don't have to thin it. Pure laziness!

    I’ve been painting for a cool couple of months and I like it but I hate making mistakes. I bought some oil paints to try blending better but I’ve been too scared to try them so far. 😂. Thank you for the awesome video!

      I'm glad you're enjoying it! My best advice would be to give it a go and make some mistakes, nothing is permanent and can always (almost always!) be rescued. Thanks for the kind words!

    How you are getting these quality results so quickly with a completely mangled split tip brush blows my mind! Great Video and great tutorial! I really appreciate the 360 shot of the final result, I hate it when I'm watching a painting video and don't get to see the money shot at the end! :D

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist

      Thanks! Yeah, a few of my brushes are almost done, so I tend to use them for metallics. As long as one bit of it points in the right direction I can manage!
      I've been wanting to improve the final reveal. What would you like to see in addition to the 360? Your ideal shot?

      @@TheHalfDoneHobbyist I think the 360 shot perfectly fine as a closer!

      @@TheHalfDoneHobbyist oooooo. Will you show how you painted angron? Not necessarily a tutorial but how you approached?

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, it’ll be a bit different, more like a comparison between how I approached it and how my friend did his.

    would be ok if I use vallejo grey primer?

    • @TheHalfDoneHobbyist
      @TheHalfDoneHobbyist  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If it’s light enough, yes. Sorry, I don’t know the Vallejo primers. White or bone works the best as the Contrast paints show up really well on them. If the grey is too dark they’ll just look a bit muddy.

    The hardest part of painting Eightbound is finding the models to buy 😂

      Ah, I didn’t realise they were scarce. A bit like the Lion yesterday!
