    I appreciate you documenting your experience with the hawks. I made up my mind I'm getting one. Been saving for a dirtbike but the hawk is a win win. Dual purpose, good price. want a bike so bad almost bought that minibike at Lowes. Keep em coming.

      Your very welcome! Nice! I hope you enjoy your hawk just as much as I have mine, they really are good little bikes. Yes they lack a small bit of power but you gotta expect that being so cheap. Just make sure you loctite everything and when you think you did … check again! It all seriousness I hope you enjoy it, and please be careful out there! If you have any questions I’m all ears. Be sure to stop by and let us all know how it’s going with the bike! Safe travels!

    Hello, I just wanted to stop by and comment. You're got great videos, and I appreciate you making videos on the hawk. I also have a TH-cam channel, and I was thinking of documenting my process too once i buy the bike.. There's simply not enough content surrounding the Hawk 250. I appreciate you picking up some of that slack. I subscribed. Keep up the good content, and I'll look forward to seeing more from you.

      Thank you very much! I plan to cover a lot more on the bike and a lot of my adventures as well! I hope you enjoy the content and I’ll see you in the next one!

    Hey a word of thanks - you were the first one to suggest a valve lash after I reported that my brand new Hawk refused to start for the first five days - and since then has hardly maintained an idle. After seeing a great video from @JackofAllMasterofNone, I dived in. The entire rocker arm assembly on my new bike was so tight! I don't have the gas tank back on yet - I'm in the process of doing the whole improvement tour: new fuel gauge float; new digital speedo & tach; the valve adjustment; and a new battery - the factory battery was crap. Thanks again for the support.

      Awesome I’m glad to hear you have gotten it figured out , I had a sneaky suspicion that it was the valve lashings. Also you don’t have to take off the gas tank if your doing the valve lashing , it’s a bit tight but totally doable, that is unless your doing more than just the valve lashing! I’m so glad you have it take care of, please keep me updated with how it’s going and if you have any questions feel free to stop by and ask, I’m willing to help as much as I can, take care and ride safe!!

      @@AppalachianMoto I'll just say this - as a first time Hawk owner I would recommend to anyone to remove the seat, the fairings, the gas tank - and really take a look at what you've got. Then, go buy some metric wrenches and sockets - you're gonna need them. Lordy!

    • @AppalachianMoto
      @AppalachianMoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amen! It’s a shame that company didn’t adjust the valves especially if you aid extra to have that stuff done! The Hawk is a bike your gonna get to know up close and personal. With you taking everything apart that reminds me I better check all the nuts and bolts on mine! 😅 keep me updated on how things are going with the bike wayne!

      Yea after that ride, I started packing more emergency stuff. I didn’t think I would get a flat taking it out in a short drive but boy was I wrong! 😂

    Had mine for 4 years no real problems. A bunch of mods. I even got hit on the bike rebuilt it stronger. I just need a decent battery. Just bought a battery tender jr. And its awesome.

      Thank god your alright man! I definitely gotta look into a battery, I just did a winter start on mine and it was dead , I had to kick her off. So far I love this bike is it a Honda … hell no but it does just as much stuff as I would do with a Honda for a fraction of the cost! Take care and watch out for crazy drivers they tend to ignore us on motorcycles.

    Should’ve bought a patch kit.

    • @AppalachianMoto
      @AppalachianMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, it’s tube tire and I prefer to just buy a new tube, if it was tubeless sure. But I’m not taking no chances.

    • @jimstenlund6017
      @jimstenlund6017 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AppalachianMoto So it’s ok to patch a tubeless tire, but not patch a tube? If it’s done right, not a glue-less bicycle patch, it’ll hold up fine.

    • @AppalachianMoto
      @AppalachianMoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well that’s one’s a tough one and pretty much all on how you feel. Me personally I don’t trust patching a tube at all and I feel it would compromise my safety just a bit more. Now that’s not to say you can’t do it because you can. I’ve seen people do it on trails and in emergency situations but I just don’t trust it personally especially if I’m hitting 65 on the road I don’t want that patch to blow.

    • @leegraves101
      @leegraves101 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If I’m going to the trouble of removing a tube I’d rather replace it with new. Maybe patch the old and save it for an emergency

    • @jimstenlund6017
      @jimstenlund6017 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@leegraves101 Tube-type tires are just a pain, I’ll take tubeless any time I can.

    • @AppalachianMoto
      @AppalachianMoto  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sure did, do I wanna do it no. I’d rather change the tube.

    • @daview23

      I just change the tube also. Less worries. I run heavy duty tubes

    gorilla black tape over spokes, wont pinch tube

    • @AppalachianMoto
      @AppalachianMoto  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It had a band around the rim to cover the spokes. But it was my own fault that I pinched it.
