Peugeot is well know for their quite accurate fuel consumption figures. They release real world figures next to the standardized test results and they nearly always match what the consumer experiences afterwards. After VW's emission scandal they also publicly said: Come check our software & emission results, they're all clean. Peugeot did hold, or still holds a fuel consumption world record with a 208 (not the gti obviously). I drive a diesel 208 and drove a 306 before. If you own a french car you might experience a weird squeaking noise every now and then just to let you know it's not a German car, that's all. It's all well.
They've always been accurate for me, too, whatever model I've driven. I just can't believe that a car that's so much fun can be as economical as it is. Brilliant little car. SW
I bought the 208 gti prestige over an St fiesta don't regret it at all, its slightly faster on a straight and top end speed plus being that I'm not driving an St i don't look like a prat
@@newmotoring Differences are significant though. The Peugeot sport seats in the 208 are one of my main attractions whereas the seats in the prestige/gti/GT line aren't as pretty. Very standard looking infact with red stitching being the difference. Same applies for the steering wheel and gauge cluster
Hols4 Just subscribed to your great channel, were the interior shots of the gt-line as I have just purchased one. It's a great car with the 1.2 EAT pure tec engine, looks great with all the red bits and nice 17inch alloys. Keep up with great reviews Ray Hunt
Hi Ray! Thanks for subscribing. Interior shots were actually of a 2008. A mix up with our footage meant we used the wrong interior shot (we filmed the 2008 the same week as the 208). How are you enjoying your 208?
Nope, didn't experience any torque steer in the Peugeot Sport. Might be different for the 'standard' 208 GTI because that doesn't have the special Torsen limited-slip differential, though.

Was never a Peugeot man but loved the look owned 4 now and each one has been incredible plus you do not see many GT line ones or GTI let alone the BPS
I love that the interior shots/angles were the GT Line and not GTi or 30th

i would like one of these.
Get one!
Why are you showing dashboard pics from another model, not the GTi?
Good spot ;) We shot two Peugeots in the same week, both with near identical interiors: one a GTI, the other was not.

Is there torque steer or not? You say there isn't, but another review on here of the exact same model says there is. Which is it?

My dad got one. It does.
Amazing brand amazing reveiw
Thanks Daniel!
I love mine lol, is that not a peugeot 30th as thats the 18" wheels not the 17s the gti has. i want a set of those loo
how do you get ahold of these cars?
They are 'press cars', cars that come direct from the manufacturer for journalists to review.
+newmotoring cool
Got to say how you can say you get 53 mpg is a disgrace... nobody gets over 35 when driving these as they are meant to
