    Hey Ella I have a challenge for you 😉 so on the posting twice a week thing which of course as a subscriber I’m totally here for why not make me of those videos a how I’ve taken care of myself this month video. You can maybe do an intro and outro and then voice over and just grab clips of the selfcare things you do, just the set up like running the bath or prepping the sofa with coffee and a book or taking 10 to play with Mabel in the garden. Making a video will make you start the thing the. You get to enjoy the thing and then you can share with us. Great way to stay accountable to yourself care and also encourage us in our self care too. Face mask anyone???? ❤❤❤❤

    Completely understand how it feels to take the fun out of reading by putting pressure on yourself to read. I also struggle when work is particularly tiring or stressful. Sometimes it just takes a particularly good book or break from work to get back into it :) Loved the reset, I'm always keeping an eye out for yours at the start of the month!

    Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is not in USD and our economic areas are very different! I live in a medium size city in the western area of the US and I work full time in banking, but my paychecks are less than your part time ones and it can bum me out!! Then I do the math and Im like okay...we are living in different areas doing different things but all hope is not lost 😂

    Just a suggestion. Instead of investing and risking your money trying to earn I’m assuming 7-10% pa with the risk of lower or potentially negative returns, why not put it onto the mortgage until it’s cleared thus effectively earning a guaranteed 6.5-7% or whatever your mortgage rate is? And also you’d be up for income or CG tax on any investment returns, whilst saving interest on your mortgage is tax free.
    Really enjoy your content.

    Love these videos! I really wish I was more invested in my finances and being more organised - we have an offset account from our mortgage so pretty much use that as our spending/saving/emergency fund account. When you say you put money towards investing - what do you invest in and how? ☺

    Hi Ella interested to know how you budget for say travel if you have take it out of savings account that was specifically for that. Do you include in your every day monthly budget when you are using money that hasn't come from regular pay. I feel like it doesn't really reflect accuratley if I am adding it to my monthly spending but the funds have come from a savings account. Hope that makes sense.

    • @eghe12345
      @eghe12345 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I added a spot in the income area for saving and set it to the same amount in the expense area that I was using my savings for. That way it’s accounted for but the money is coming from the “savings income” and not “pay check income”. I hope that helps!

    • @allee541

  • @janicew9
    @janicew9 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Can you explain what an offset account is?

    • @smileycitrus
      @smileycitrus  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      google says: An offset account is a transaction account linked to an eligible home or investment loan. The benefit of an offset account is that the money you have in this account can be used to “offset” the amount you owe on your home loan, and you'll only be charged interest on the difference.
      Basically means if you have a loan of $200,000 and $50,000 in your offset account, you'll only be charged interest on $150,000 as that $50K is offsetting the loan. Hope that makes sense!
