    Best purchase: A new Christmas tree! I’ve always wanted a snow flocked, pre lit, 7ft tree but the ones at Myer are like $400-700. Found one at Kmart that is almost identical for $130!
    Worst purchase: Had to buy a new parking permit for work which was $150 😢 worth it in the long run to not pay for parking every single day but I still hate spending such a huge amount on my car when petrol and insurance is already so expensive

    You know what's scary - we are a family of 5 and our income is pretty much on par with yours as a couple! We don't even have enough left over after our bills to put anything away. So being a 27yo and making that kind of income is pretty bloody fabulous and the fact you are concentrating on paying off your debts quickly and putting away money for the future says a lot. Gosh when I was 27 I was still partying, single and not even contemplating saving! We only bought a house this year! So well done you for sharing these things to get other young people on track and us older folk who took forever to do anything :)

    My parents took me travelling as a kid so I never felt like I needed to get travel out of my system before having a family. We also decided to try starting a family when we did because our theory was that we were never going to look back and regret having had a child (it was a big priority for both of us)
    We’re all on our own unique journeys in life and we’re all going to do things in different orders. It definitely feels hard when you’re at that crossroads though. Understand the feeling

    You can travel with kids! You’re both quite relaxed, supportive and money savy I think you would travel with kids no problem. And what an experience for them.
    Did you get financial advice for investing or are you just winging it? I’m so scared of it its all over my head but do have a sit down booked with a financial advisor soon.

    I think after paying off extra debt like the car loan, you would find you have enough money to travel while having kids. Maybe with a few years off international travel. But plenty of people do it! And you guys have a decent income which helps!

    I absolutely respect how open you are about the crisis you seem to be in. Life is just too crazy, and societal expectations have forced us to be in this dilemma where we MUST have something to achieve, else we will be deemed lazy. Your choices you seem to be making are HUGE ones, especially children, so try your best not to stress too much over it. Maybe you might not be ready for children if you are anxious about that move still, though this is up to you and your partner (my opinion - and others also commenting- should not be a taken too seriously into that choice). I do wish you all the best and hope your crisis does ease. Being this open on the internet is tough, but I really commend it. Enjoying all your content from New Zealand x

      Also, totally agree with what you said about money and how everyone values different things with their money. Time is the same way. Some people value family/becoming parents, others value more travel and personal experiences before sacrificing that. But their values don't have to be yours if you feel ready to be a mum ❤😘. I was talking to a close friend recently about how we spend our money so differently. She travels the world and I really admire that and sometimes want that. But when I had a couple extra grand available this year, I decided to add to our family and we got a puppy (our 4th pet)! Meanwhile, my friend wanted a puppy but didn't get one because of how much she travels. Neither of us are right or wrong, it's just when when push comes to shove, our highest value was different! She loves experiencing the world and culture, I love experiencing maternal instinct and family and home. ❤️💛 Sometimes your values will compete with and contradict each other. You get to choose what your highest value is.

    I think if you’re planning children talk with your friends that might also be looking to start I know you have at least one friend who gave birth recently well not so recently now but when are your other friends looking at kids. I say this because as much as you can’t 100 control the when and how’s I had a baby 6 years before my friends started and it was a lonely place to be it’s much nicer when your kids are all fairly close in age and you go through the season together. Not something to set extending your family by but something to consider. It was really hard for me having a baby when no friends did and now my baby is 22 I’ve got the freedom to go where I want when I want and only be responsible for me again and the friends are still raising tweens & teens so it’s a little lonely on this side because they don’t have the freedoms to just get up and go. So that’s my thoughts/advice from my experience but ultimately you and Nick will figure it out and everything as it should I don’t think there’s ever really a wrong way in your position you’ve done lots of solo travel together and before hand and starting a family soon means you’ll still have the get up and go on the other side of child raising to go on more adventures too ❤

    Best purchase so far in October has been costs related to a couple of hiking trips with my husband and dog. Worst purchase so far...lots of gas for my work commute and other driving, which I suppose is necessary, but unpleasant nonetheless.

    I feel you, me and my fiance are currently working on a downpayment for our 1st house and the mental struggle is real! We've been on it for a full year now and i feel like we are running out of steam a little bit... Here in France (like everywhere else in the world i feel) the housing market is very rough and i feel a bit disheartened and discouraged. I know it's just a "phase" and we'll get back on the motivation train soon enough but at the moment i kinda want to enjoy life more and stop grinding for a sec just to relieve the pressure!! Adulting is hard and sometimes i just wanna be silly and do things without questionning the financial wiseness of it all 😅It's a balance i need to find i guess.We'll see how it goes 🙂😇xoxo

    I messaged you on instagram with a question, maybe you’ll see it here: I am using the same budget spreadsheet as you and I was just wondering if you put expenses you pay for with your savings in “expenses”, if that makes sense. E.g. you’ve saved for furniture and buy it, do you put it in your budget tracker and put the amount you’re pulling from savings in “income”? Thank you so much in advance! 💕

    • @Cosmic_Girl_9
      @Cosmic_Girl_9 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As an accountant - that’s an expense once paid.

    • @Cosmic_Girl_9
      @Cosmic_Girl_9 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@maloumasereel966 to be honest, I don't even use this spreadsheet... but if you haven't spent the money yet, what you actually have is a provision for an expense. if you still have the $ then yes, it is still an asset you currently own but your intention is to spend it. So in the end it becomes an expense once spent. (I hope that hasn't confused the heck out of you).

    Hi!!!! I love your content. What you said about family planning is so true. People can project their experiences and be so so negative and it’s just annoying. Please (begging you) do what’s in your heart and do not listen to negative nancies. They think they’re doing good by telling you but they really aren’t. For example when I told people I was pregnant , soooo many people came out with their pregnancy horror stories. Pregnancy has been an absolute breeze. 😂 experiences really are personal. If you want to have kids now, do it. If you wanna put it off and travel, do it. 🤍🤍🤍🤍
