@@thatangrygerman2076 I feel that as weapons developed and were able to kill at longer and longer ranges, warfare became more and more inhuman as the people you kill got harder to see as people. You would probably see them as just "the enemy" and not as other human beings at far enough of a distance.

i was playing barotrauma and listening to this song. got my sub disabled by pirates and landed on top of their sub and forced them into the floor of the ocean. i swam out armed to the teeth and ready to tear apart a pirate crew solo. i sawed my way into their sub and flooded the lower deck before listening to this song and gunning down every single crewman aboard that ship.
Somehow they managed to create the same auditory feeling as getting ready to take off in a fighter jet within the first thirty seconds, absolutely amazing.
The first words said by the crew when they saw the bomb go off was "look at the sonofabitch go!" And many of the crew of the Enola gay said they would do it again if given the chance, though on the other hand the captain later wrote "dear God what have we done"
Let's not mix the crew statements later with the initial. None of the crew said they'd do it again lightly. The entire crew recognized in hindsight that it likely saved lives, and thus despite the guilt they felt over such a weapon they would all have chosen to do it again.
