Thanks once again for a great video. I love using everyday materials & adapting them to tying flys.

Hey there. Found your channel and been checking out your videos. Good stuff with the alternative materials, it’s one of the things I do to keep making bugs on a tight Jersey budget! Thanks and I’ll see you around the TH-cam.

thanks for watching. I have been tying for 40ish years, most of those years i didnt have access to fly shops. I learned how to find stuff to tie with anywhere I could. So hopefully some of the information is useful to others, it has been awesome sharing with others, the feedback I get has taught me even more ideas.
      Again, thanks for watching.

The newest wing material that I have heard of was when a guy did a demonstration making a cicada, and he used charcoal grey landscaping fabric for the wings. A regular roll would last a lifetime.

Interesting selection of choices for wing materials. Dryer sheets are fairly stiff before use in the dryer but seem soft after use. Do you use new or used dryer sheets to make wings.
As a side note, the used dryer sheets retain a bit whatever anti-static properties they had when new, so their mesh makes them terrific for cleaning the insides of hair stackers before use. They are also good (new sheets too) for wiping your vise jaws & scissors before trimming the spun hair on Muddlers, Goddard caddis or hair poppers. The wipe-down reduces the amount of little trimmings are stick on the tool by static.

I am a little late to the party, I just found your channel and subscribed. Great Stuff! Also a shout out for Stockards, I like to buy local, but if you can't, they are a fantastic mail order alternative, plus the customer support knows fly fishing and can answer almost any question. I do have a question/concern, what are the health concerns about using wing burners inside with these synthetics?

I would take all standard precautions, but I have never burned enough to amount to any amount of smoke being caused. I worked in Law enforcement for 20 years so my lungs are probably already shot though.
