Breathtaking New Images of the MOON

  • Buzz Aldrin described the "Magnificent Desolation" of the lunar surface. Rarely do those words ring as true as in these recent images from the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter. Revel in the detail of these images, and the severity of the Lunar surface, then be thankful you're relaxing on a green and blue world sheltered from the hostile environment of space.

individual grains of moon dust are much sharper and more abrasive. The lack of an atmosphere also makes the day/night temperature swings more extreme. Both of these contribute to wear and failure of rovers

'Breath taking' 0:14-0:45 Tycho Crater Central Peak reminds me of a plastic model that me and my brother played with as kids and we used to put our little die-cast cowboys and indians on it to have a 'battle'.In fact I can almost smell the green enamel paint we used to use to make them look vaguely 'real' just like they have done in this shot.
I seriously think that they're testing the credibility/gullibility of viewers to see whether we've been dumbed-down enough to get away with a 'Mars-Shot'

      1) LRO revisits Apollo Landing sites
2)Ultra Close Up Views of the Apollo 11 Landing Site - GoneToPlaid
      3) Apollo 11 Powered Descent and LRO Imagery
      4) Apollo 15 Descent Film and LRO Imagery
The latter two are a split screen of the real-time 16mm DAC imagery AND the manipulated LRO imagery (side-by-side_ Notice the EXACT moonscape of both image sets? There is one major difference between the two. The real-time images show a pristine moonscape. The LRO imagery is littered with footprints and other artifacts ;-)

The fact that you have been telling everybody in this thread that this one video should end the moon hoaxers claims once and for all and no one has ever heard of it except you, is really telling. If it were real it would be the most played thing on TV. I think I've seen it. It's CGI, trust me.

At time index 2:53, just left-of-center, are two (2) monoliths (resembling shiny, dome-like structures, IMO) casting impressive shadows on the surface.... Looking top-to-bottom, the first "dome" is on the left-side, nearest the top and.... the second (and larger) dome is beneath it, at around 45 degrees to its right.... A clearly discernible path can be seen running about part-way between both monoliths. Surely, I can't be the only person to have noticed these monoliths.

there is a HUGE difference between pictures taken in a vacuum without the glare from any atmosphere to those taken under under earth's atmosphere. any glare from a bright surface would and could NOT affect the visualness of stars against the blackness of space in the same photo. The black areas off the horizons represent an unaffected line of sight through a vacuum and therefore there is no glare in those areas. You get it?
      You're totally misunderstanding the physics.
I have found pictures of stars in the Surveyor V Program lunar picture archive showing stars that should have also been seen in the Apollo manned flights, but were NOT raising questions about whether or not we ever stepped foot on the moon.

We could have bases on the moon, and might have gone to Mars by now if only we had the will to go. The technology is not that hard, it just takes money that Americans no longer want to spend.

    • @OmniCrenshaw
      @OmniCrenshaw 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

John Agnew You're correct. Thousands tried to make space travel a reality but rather than admit failure they decided to fake it. And only a handful of them new the fix was in. The rest were fooled with you and everyone else at home watching. You don't have to be an expert on brain surgery to notice if a patient the doctor is operating on is a mannequin with spaghetti and macaroni as a brain. Or to notice he never washed his hands before surgery. These things alone can help you deduce that an event is fake without it being your field of study. Apollo is the same way. It just looks fake. No other expertise is needed to say that.

I don't need proof to state what looks staged to me. Even if it NASA decided to do the common sense thing like send a robot to the surface of the moon tomorrow and take HD pics of the Apollo Missions sites, that still doesn't change the fact that all the pics and videos prior to them look fake. They will always still appear fake. And they will never prove otherwise in my opinion.

The moon is mainly gray, so it's difficult to see colours even if the photos are colour. You can see that if you look at the moon with a telescope. Also if you look at colour Apollo photos, like this: www.collectspace.com/review/apollo11_flag01.jpg

wow... i said that it was in color... last i checked.. that was the fuqin point...sure it reflects certain lights.. thats why the sun is apparently orange to us down here but its either white... yellow or blue (something i found somewhere on the net... either on fb or somewhere else but its not actually orange... supposedly) but i was just saying that if its not in color in your eyes.... its probably not in color on a color tv.... just sayin....and the first part of your comment.... " Funny How Someone As Stupid As You Thinks They Can *Talk to Others As if They Are."* this bit i did not understand.... "talk to others as if they are" whats that supposed to mean?... like i literally have beyond no clue what this means to take offence.... im like that dork on lord of the rings that said "what he be sayin? he saying somethin?" and then gandalf says "he invited us over for dinner"... and then the dwarf says...."oh... then lead the way!"

They are high resolution and they are considerably more than specks. Remember these images were taken from about 31 miles away. That's like photographing a 1 inch object from over 1113 feet away. Luckily there is a valid scientific reason to one day return to the various landing sites from the '60s and '70s, both manned and unmanned. Engineers will be interested to see the effects that decades of exposure have had on the materials left on the moon, especially in the context of planning long term bases.
But allow me to make a prediction as to what will result when Apollo conspiracy theorists are one day shown close-up photos of Apollo artifacts in situ. Most of them will simply dismiss these as more fakes, and begin scrutinizing them for what they imagine are telling flaws despite their complete lack of expertise in the relevant subjects.

Yes. A serious moon landing would have involved some mining expeditions and some stunning pictures of the stars and Constellations. And even if the camera exposure was an issue, they supposedly had several trips there to fix that. And why not bring a telescope. They were simply playing around. And you were also right about them not having enough fear being that far from home not knowing they could get back or not. And everything science -wise, in history that's ever been tried for the first time in history always involved animals doing it first. How is it that the most dangerous, most unknown, most expensive, and most highly televised experiment ever, was not tried on monkeys or lab rats first?

We can't at this point in time because the last pictures we had of the moon were from the Apollo missions, we've had about 30 years of the Space Shuttle program, and now our eyes are turning to the Red planet (Mars). So there won't be any colour pictures of the moon at this stage, unless plans go ahead to try bringing over some life to the moon in an attempt to sustain it.

  • @Rob260259

The LRO's mission is to map the moon -- not to prove that the moon landings were in fact real. The LRO was designed to fly fairly low over the moon at an altitude of only 50 km. The LRO narrow angle cameras use rather small CCD sensors which consist of a single row of 5064 pixels of 7 micron pixel size, for a sensor width of 35.4 mm. The LRO's 7 micron pixel size is considerably larger than the size of the Airy disk produced by the LRO's 8 inch aperture 700 mm focal length optical system.

Sorry Laika, one of the purposes of the LRO mission was to map selected regions of interest (future landing sites) on the moon down to a resolution of 50cm. This is the purpose of the Narrow Angle Cameras, but the NAC's are just one of 7 total scientific packages on the LRO. The LRO's fueled mass, at launch, was 1916kg and was launched by an Atlas V booster. Thus the NAC's could not be larger as they would have been too heavy.
You were told about it already.
