You can't predict the future. Definitely not through data projections.
However you can study the past and what that tells us is that there has been much bigger variations in climate throughout human history.
In the time that homo sapiens have lived in Europe both Woolly mammoths and Hippopotamus have settled for prolong periods in England.
And it's not like these were over vast time spans. Climate has shifted massively sometimes within a few decades.

From 20,000 years ago the ice began to melt but really got under way some 11,000 years ago. We should now be on our way toward the next glacial period but have reversed the trend with our output of GreenHouseGases.

Rapid Freezing explains why there are fish alive under a mile thick ice in Antarctica and Greenland. They froze instantly when rivers froze then the tilting of the earth just put ice on top of those rivers. Then when the rivers unfroze under the insulated ice the fish were freed. Now how long can a fish live but be frozen will tell you all how long this has been.

Same here. I spent my teens and 20's in Michigan. We had feet of snow all winter. Thanksgiving and Christmas were white. The lake completely froze as far as you could see in winter and never got above 40 degrees in summer (we actually got to cool off when we went swimming). I just spent a year up there. We had barely a few inches of snow. It was not what Michigan considers cold. Christmas was rainy. The lake didn't freeze at all in winter and felt like bath water in late May. In the past, we didn't dare go swimming before July because the lake didn't completely thaw until the end of April.

@JohnToolan-oz6gx no, it’s completely natural regardless of humans being involved or not. My argument is, is people focus on the impact of humans while not understanding it’s happening regardless. We will never stop it, just delay it. The idea that we can stop it is goofy. Earth has had far worse rises and falls on its own with zero humans on the planet. Sure, we can do things to slow it down and I’m all for it. People just got to stop pretending it’s gonna fix anything long term.

@JohnToolan-oz6gx The only way that I see, is to do CO2 removal from the atmosphere on a huge scale. It is possible if the nations of the world act together in a WW2 type of effort.
But, what are the odds of that happening??
Global warming will have to be so advanced that it is obvious to everyone.
CO2 will be at 500 ppm by 2050, and sea level will be rising by inches every year.
      Maybe then.
BUT -- the loss of Greenland and WAIS will likely be unavoidable, meaning a minimum of 70 ft ocean rise.
A lot of places still gone ---
BUT - the real horror of a Global Anoxic Event may be averted.
Do you want me to tell you about that???

Things we do to are plane ,war ,and many others, I think 1000 years will start all over. Circle of life , changing for better future even if this era is wipeout. Actually, I think the numbers may be closer to 40% Republican trolls, 50% Russian trolls and just 10% fossil fuel industry trolls, since the fossil fuel industry knows it has a stranglehold on the world economy, and they expect no decline in profits from climate mitigation efforts, and instead they expect higher profits, since they can simply charge more for their products if regulations increase their operating costs.

@@TabalugaDragon Well President Putin said about 4 or 5 years ago he would be glad when there is less ice in the North. It would be easier to exploit the resources. In fact there are a lot of countries in the north that are looking where their continental plate starts or ends. So they can determine who gets what. Russia also wants ice free routes for their shipping. Russia has thousands of miles of coastline from port to port. There are even military exercises in the North from both sides. NATO and Russia. i hope i could answer your question.

You are aware that the notions of "western Antarctica" and "eastern Antarctica" make absolutely no fucking damn sense so near the south pole?
The only reason they're called that is because of the Euro-centric standard map of the world, in such a way that the bit with the tip is closer to the left part of the map, and the other one to the right edge, but, you're aware that Japan is west of the USA, right? even if you would have to go east on the map.
So yes, calling it west and east so close to the pole makes no sense. If you go west or east there, you end up running (or sledding) in circles.
