Kinda interesting to see how, in Velvet's ideal world, Melchior is the only villain who never makes an appearance. Makes sense though, as it was his scheming that caused pretty much the entire plot to begin with. Had he not interfered Velvet's life may very well have been something similar to what we saw in her dream.
Melchior is pretty much THE root cause of so much pain in this game That by all means he's the real main villain He had such a Hero Whorship for the King that he became a extremist, going aganist Claudin's morals and ideals Tortured his Daughter(?) Magilou by literally breaking her heart over and over Experimented on Malakim aganist their wishes or own wills Manipulated Arthur into become the Broken tool he is now And in general caused so much suffering and chaos all for his idea of a Utopia
I love that Besteria and Zestiria are the different sides of the same coin. Neither does Velvet or Sorey ever call darkness or light the worst. It’s what they think is best for the world at the time they existed in. Sorey doesn’t want to be like past shepherds who made awful mistakes and Velvet doesn’t want to be inherently a pure malice lord of calamity. The truth is both can’t exist without each other and both protagonists and both dark and light should be able to coexist. Both end up Sacrificing themselves for what they want. (It’s technically unconfirmed if Sorey will actually ever wake up. The anime says he does, The game leave sit open for debate, and the manga has him reincarnate, but I presume he’s like the persona 3 protagonist and is used as a seal/vessel for eternity or for a very long time to were everyone he cared about has passed.) and they both are definitely my favorite Tales Of protagonists.

@@eaglenebula2172 It was, but it also wasn't By the game's logic, a human reencarnating into a seraph doesn't mean the seraph it's the actual human anymore, it's a new being. That said, a seraph in weird cases can recover the memories from his past life, which innominat did, and that may be due to laphicet's resonance and determination, so in a sense, innominat was laphicet, since he view himself as this person and most likely have his memorias from the very first moment he came to life.
Just likes tales of Zesteria left me crying and feeling empty for over a week, like I had lost a part of myself or lost a family I never had. Tales of Berserias ending had me crying aswell, but it was so good, so... bittersweet, I don't know what I feel, such an emotional turmoil... such a good game.
22:34 This scene is really fill with emotion. Velvet sacrificed herself by being sealed away eternally just for phi to keep being alive and free from innominat. It really show how much velvet love her nephew
Laphicet gets two big ass reveals. First he's the unborn nephew of Velvet reborn or should i say just born as a malik. Now he takes the place of his main counterpart as the new god. The same god that another hero will fight thousands of years later once being completely corrupted by malevolence. Now it makes sense how zavied knows him and how Lilah fights like him.

I like how they mimic the self sacrificing aspect of this Tales world. Both Sorey and Velvet give up a lifetime of happiness with all of their friends to rest with the last being they fought
Well, they did end up having happiness. Velvet's dreams of having adventures with laphicet and all of his friends is actually nice. And we know Sorey ends up actually waking up when he saves mikleo.
Most heartwrenching moment for me is when Magilou finally laughs, from the bottom of her heart, she NEVER truly laughed throughout the entire game, and just for a moment, in the post-credits, we see her genuinely happy.
I’m surprised I haven’t seen very many comments of just how damn tragic Arthur is. He’s probably my favourite villain as of now because he was clearly meant to be a hero. Instead every life he failed to save took a toll on him, and he blamed himself for it all. I think Arthur is made to be a reflection of what Sorrey risked becoming. Throughout Zesteria you hear all this talk of how dangerous it is to be the Shepherd, and I think Arthur is why. Sure the Shepherd can win just about any fight, but that only leaves themselves to blame should they fail. But Arthur’s death was so strong because even though his actions made him irredeemable, it was all rooted in his desire to protect humanity at any cost. He wanted to suppress humanity because he truly thought it would be the only way to protect humanity. And I guess it doesn’t help that he personally didn’t want to have to suffer the same despair that put him on the path he chose.
I'd like to think that Arthur is actually the Arthur in that dream with Seras being Celica. Seras was still inside Velvet and Arthur's soul may have been hoovered up by Innominat/Laphicet at the end.
Probably one of those villains that somehow touched my heart at the very end. And I like the comparison with Sorey -- he's a really good example of why you shouldn't keep thrusting yourself into the whole saving humanity job without much regard to your own life.
It would be cool if in a third game Velvet, and the two Laphicets finally get saved and have a normal life as simple humans or malaks/seraphs. Or at least Phi and Velvet, since Laphi actually gave up his life willingly.
Sorey proves throughout zestiria that he can do alot of things that noone in history has been able to such as purify a dragon aka maotelus. I think that the 3rd game can be after he purifies him and maotelus recognizes his power he might petition sorey to save velvet as he's the only one who can due to his power as a shepherd. It will be up to sorey to purify and harness the entire world's malevolence to feed innominat to finally satisfy his never ending hunger making it so that he can save velvet and finally let innominat rest in peace.
Phi turns out to be an integral character for Tales of Zestiria, him leading a normal life would cause a lot of problems. Also, Laphicet and Velvet hold themselves in check. One can't simply return without the other.
Personally, I'd rather let the ending stay as it is. This is what Velvet would've wanted. To be just with her little brother. This bittersweet ending is the message the story's been telling all along - "This feeling is part of being alive. Embrace it and go forward." Because life isn't about making all the best choices. It's about enjoying the process and living with what you've done, whether you can be proud of it in the end. That's what decides whether a life was well lived (this last part was just stolen from another comment)

I feel bad for Eisen to this day. Broke my heart knowing from the get-go what would happen to him. To be honest, I have to retroactively like Zestiria more. Without it I would have never loved this game as much as I did.
In Zestiria the Sheppard was the victor but in Berseria the Lord of Calamity remains standing. Guessing if they choose to revisit this particular Universe; they might have the two Winners at odds with one another.

But Sorey may want her gone just because of her title? i don't know but i do believe Sorey will get pounded in a 1v1, i mean she's a freaking Demi-God!
In fairness it would be difficult to even have that encounter. Velvet has Innominat trapped in a devouring loop so you would need someone from the outside to interrupt it. You would also have to decide who would be playable or maybe have two campaigns (Plus Velvet would need a new team since some of them are dead). I wouldn't mind seeing the attempt but I get that it would be a challenge. Usually why most VS scenarios don't work half of the time.
Maybe when Sorey finishes purifying Maotellus and returns, it brings Velvet and Inominat out by accident. Then a third game in this world leads to the two teaming up to save the world from Inominat and Lunarre.
If they revisit this setting, I want to see King Claudin's journey as a Shepherd or King Meliodes as a Lord of Calamity as stated within the Zestiria Guidance Book.
It could happen in the Zestiria anime. Velvet is in the openings for seasons 1 and 2, has 2 episodes about her escape from Titania in season one, and the Rolance's ruler tells Sorey about Velvet.
Armatized Artorius is one of the most badass-looking "villains" I have seen in a LONG, long time. Holy Hell I screamed when he transformed in my playthrough.
I love the Tales series, I just think it's funny how almost every final boss has a good point on why they should potentially destroy the planet for a perfect world lol

I wish they did since the Tales of Zestiria was pretty bad even thou they had some easter eggs from Berseria, but it would have been nice to explore more of the world in Zestiria.
First part of the fight: Gaius + Muzét II Second part: Giant version of Duke The final boss was pretty cool although its theme kinda sucks. And yes, the ending is satisfying as sad. Very fitting to the entire game: bittersweet
I like how in Xillia everyone joined the final boss fight one by one and used mystic artes. But I also love how in Berseria you can manually chain all mystic artes. and yeah i was like "huh... reminds me of duke..." when I was fighting him. XD
Artorius does remind me of Duke as far as their ideals go. Although he's not nearly as cool. But for his final form he looks more like the Derris Kharlan angels: Dhaos and Mithos.
Julian H. Isn't the second artorius theme represent artorius' hatred towards humanity's emotions that creates malevolence? That's what the theme was all about.

The fact that the game's over hurt me even more than the nature of the ending itself which in comparison didn't bother me quite much :( Also I was so surprised when Laphi confessed I was like 'hooolyshit he actually said it' :o so glad he did & Velvet accepting it cuz it's been boiling in my chest for the longest time during the game. I wonder what was her dream about that Phi mentioned at the end of the vid, I thought her wish was something like exploring the world with her brother or being able to live with him or Phi again but that's unlikely to happen given the current situation so was it something to do with mankind & such? Now I'm once again left with that awful feeling of big emptiness within after I just finished the game which I've been playing since January so literally for *HALF A YEAR* but ofc it's because I'm playing at a pace of 1hour everyday with few exceptions (it's part of my resolve to maintain a balance between work & entertainment :) for what I wished would be a total of 100 hours when I finish Innominat but unluckily it got to 98 instead :p well I still have to try out what little extras there're afterward. Damn it I wanna scream so loudly ! This game's been like a part of my life now :'( I really really loved this game til the end it's def gonna stick in my memory for a long time, I just wish I could express my sincere gratitude, support and a ton of praise & respect to the team who made it, really a pure jewel that I didn't expect to enjoy this much when I started it & even less to find in the current era of games. Next destination, FFXV !
I just realized, Arthur is basically Kratos from Symphonia. They both lost their wife and son before giving up on the world, they get involved in a plan to suppress emotions, they are partially responsible for humans turning into monsters, they work for/with an old being that looks like a child, fight with swords, posses ethereal wings, and lose to a party their sons are on. The only difference is that Kratos lived.
Sad but happy ending. Still if this game was to continue. Then it is possible. Velvet did broke out of the dream world she was in before in Aball or whatever it was called. If anything, eventually she could feel that the world she’s living in is a lie and challenge the harsh reality to escape. Though for that to happen. Velvet would have to learn to accept that goes on. Who knows, maybe eventually she would realize that a dream is just a dream. Despite everything that happened, she still had friends. Though, you can understand why she came to that decision. From the very beginning of the game, she practically goes on with no hope whatsoever. Death wouldn’t matter after she had accomplished what she had set out to do. It’s complicated, but she definitely is a very well developed antihero. This game has potential for a final version for sure.
This game has to be my favourite story by far We don't often see the protagonist as a villain while the antagonist is also a villain yet In a way I realised he wasn't actually evil. Artorius is one of the best written character I have seen because I am a writer. He actually inspired me to write my own villain "Venom". I just love the idea of the bad guys saving the day in a world gone wrong
OverlordFlinx Hey, Xillia is not a bad Tales game. DotNW is...less than its insanely amazing predecessor, but it’s still not horrible. And honestly the only really bad thing about Zestiria is the combat. I haven’t played Legendia so I can’t speak on that one.

Legendia's greatest sin was being so painfully boring and long winded as well as having a cool but horribly executed weight system for throwing enemies around. Again, it's differing opinions, and I respect that you liked Xillia; but I just could not stand it when the credits started to roll.

there're many Lord of Calamity so people probably not gonna mention her specifically. Eizen and Zaveid took down one and result in Eizen become a dragon (in Zestiria)
so she and her brother are forgoten. right? If thats true then this is a sad ending :( . But who knows Magilou was seen writing a book If Velvet becomes a likeable character then she will be thrown to the bucket of "Cool Characters that will probally return to Hype the fanbase" ! Since she and her brother are Immortals I can totally seen her returning in a future "Tales of" game. I really enjoyed Velvet as a character lets see if she returns.
I remember the first time I fought this boss, I was so fired up by the fight in the cinmatic but once it ended and the real thing started it just wipe out my party like nothing, it took me a lot of effort to defeat this boss.
Phi is Maotelus so he IS alive. He almost died in Zestiria but Sorey saved him. Laphi and Velvet are also alive too, just sealed away in a form of permanent feeding cycle. And most Therions went back to normal but any Daemon/Hellion that enjoys the feel of malevolence in their soul (like Rokurou) can't be purified. It'similar to how Sorey couldn't purify high level Hellions in Zestiria because they were too tainted by malevolence. I might also point out thar Velvet is still a Therion.
Technically Heldalf's plot is independent of Maotelus' corruption. Maotelus was corrupted by the war between Heldalf's Rolance Army the the Hyland Army led by unnamed individuals. Though indeed it was the God of Calamity'splot to merge with the corrupted Maotelus, but that's just a side-plot. Fromthe very start the true end goal of Sorey'sjourney was going to be the purification of Maotelus himself, as Heldalf was just a distraction. Sorey just took too long and the goal of freeing Maotelus and defeating Heldalf ended up coinciding with one another.
Such a fantastic game. I really don't know how they can top this one. This is probably my favorite Tales game (Tied with Abyss.), and my favorite Tales cast. Also 25:40 Fuckin' agreed Magilou. The Empyreans need to get it the fuck together.

This is what happened to me yesterday in Chaos. Use an All Divide. Have Velvet focus on Innominant and stun him as much as possible. the second you get him out of the way the fight is easy. Funny, this game was super easy until this last fight, even on a high difficulty.
What level did you tackle him on Chaos mode? I was planning newgame+ on chaos mode. Kinda disappointed to hear the game is easy up until the last fight again.
Well, there are ways in which it can get difficult for sure. when you have dangerous encounters, or fight Jude and Milla. However, regular game isn't too tough. I believe i was on Lvl 90, and I used an All Divide otherwise they instantly wiped me.

Alot of tales protagonists tend to share artes (see fang blade, demon fang , stone dragon ascent.) However, I think the fandom mostly agrees that Artorius straight up Jacked Yuri Lowels' Mystic arte.
Well, that's mainly because while yes, lots of characters share arts, all of the characters tend to have their own unique mystic artes with the exception of cameo mystic arts, which tend to be non canon dlc extras anyhow.

Its interesting how Xillia 2 is called the "Dark Tales of" because it has no happy ending and is in general pretty dark in what happen and what you do. But is Berseria/Zestiria any diferent really ? BERSERIA: - We lose our sister and her unborn child - We get sacrificed by our brother in law including our real brother - We give a crap about humanity in pursuit of Artorius - Artorius does not even know that our Laphi is his unborn child and fights him to the dead and wants to sacrefice him again - We are sealed forever eating our own brother while he eats us IN BETWEEN: - Nothing changed and a new Lord of Calamity arised (which this time really is an evil being) - The Shepard gets killed and Eizen turn into a Dragon out of despair eating and killing the Lord of Calamity - Zaveid loses his best friend and Edna her brother at this day and Zaveid determined to keep his promised he made in Berseria....killing and feeing him. ZESTIRIA: - A new Lord gets born because of War and hatred. The current Shepard used his own Son as sacrifice to curse and turn Heldalf into what we know him for - Laphi is already sick and weak because of the constand cleansing making it easy for Heldalf to take him and use him - Zaveid and Edna kill Eizen - The last Meiven goes from us - We kill our own Grandpa while he was forcefully fused with Heldalf - Sorey froze himself and Maotelus in time to cleanse him - When Sorey returned everyone he knew of course was already dead....for a long time. Except the Seraphim THE TRUTH: - Its just a game,a bet between Zeraphim - Its rigged the Zeraphim on earth cant win - Malevolence cant be eradicated -The circle will always repead The only way for an happy end is opening the gate to heaven and fight the heavenly Seraphim who cursed our Zeraphim and humanity. Sadly the door can only be opened from heaven so we cant win....never. I mean how isnt that a " Dark Tales of " ? This is even darker then Xillia 2 when youre being honest. There never was a happy ending in both games and both are pretty dark however in Xillia 2 we at least got a chance to change the world depending on the wish we make. In Berseria/Zestiria there is no chance not even the real villains are ever shown nor to we even get the chance of kicking their ass. Berseria/Zestiria is rigged from start to finish its only a matter of time until Mankind loses even if it takes millenia. I know most people hated Zestiria for some reason but looking at both games together the story isnt bad people just didnt understand it.

By the game's logic, a human reencarnating into a seraph doesn't mean the seraph it's the actual human anymore, it's a new being.
That said, a seraph in weird cases can recover the memories from his past life, which innominat did, and that may be due to laphicet's resonance and determination, so in a sense, innominat was laphicet, since he view himself as this person and most likely have his memorias from the very first moment he came to life.

Tales of Berserias ending had me crying aswell, but it was so good, so... bittersweet, I don't know what I feel, such an emotional turmoil... such a good game.

Laphicet gets two big ass reveals. First he's the unborn nephew of Velvet reborn or should i say just born as a malik. Now he takes the place of his main counterpart as the new god. The same god that another hero will fight thousands of years later once being completely corrupted by malevolence. Now it makes sense how zavied knows him and how Lilah fights like him.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen very many comments of just how damn tragic Arthur is. He’s probably my favourite villain as of now because he was clearly meant to be a hero. Instead every life he failed to save took a toll on him, and he blamed himself for it all. I think Arthur is made to be a reflection of what Sorrey risked becoming. Throughout Zesteria you hear all this talk of how dangerous it is to be the Shepherd, and I think Arthur is why. Sure the Shepherd can win just about any fight, but that only leaves themselves to blame should they fail.
But Arthur’s death was so strong because even though his actions made him irredeemable, it was all rooted in his desire to protect humanity at any cost. He wanted to suppress humanity because he truly thought it would be the only way to protect humanity. And I guess it doesn’t help that he personally didn’t want to have to suffer the same despair that put him on the path he chose.
I never viewed him as the villain tbh... I always assume melchior orchestrated the whole thing
I'd like to think that Arthur is actually the Arthur in that dream with Seras being Celica. Seras was still inside Velvet and Arthur's soul may have been hoovered up by Innominat/Laphicet at the end.

Probably one of those villains that somehow touched my heart at the very end. And I like the comparison with Sorey -- he's a really good example of why you shouldn't keep thrusting yourself into the whole saving humanity job without much regard to your own life.

It would be cool if in a third game Velvet, and the two Laphicets finally get saved and have a normal life as simple humans or malaks/seraphs. Or at least Phi and Velvet, since Laphi actually gave up his life willingly.
Sorey proves throughout zestiria that he can do alot of things that noone in history has been able to such as purify a dragon aka maotelus. I think that the 3rd game can be after he purifies him and maotelus recognizes his power he might petition sorey to save velvet as he's the only one who can due to his power as a shepherd. It will be up to sorey to purify and harness the entire world's malevolence to feed innominat to finally satisfy his never ending hunger making it so that he can save velvet and finally let innominat rest in peace.
Phi turns out to be an integral character for Tales of Zestiria, him leading a normal life would cause a lot of problems. Also, Laphicet and Velvet hold themselves in check. One can't simply return without the other.
Personally, I'd rather let the ending stay as it is. This is what Velvet would've wanted. To be just with her little brother. This bittersweet ending is the message the story's been telling all along - "This feeling is part of being alive. Embrace it and go forward." Because life isn't about making all the best choices. It's about enjoying the process and living with what you've done, whether you can be proud of it in the end. That's what decides whether a life was well lived (this last part was just stolen from another comment)

In Zestiria the Sheppard was the victor but in Berseria the Lord of Calamity remains standing. Guessing if they choose to revisit this particular Universe; they might have the two Winners at odds with one another.

In fairness it would be difficult to even have that encounter. Velvet has Innominat trapped in a devouring loop so you would need someone from the outside to interrupt it. You would also have to decide who would be playable or maybe have two campaigns (Plus Velvet would need a new team since some of them are dead). I wouldn't mind seeing the attempt but I get that it would be a challenge. Usually why most VS scenarios don't work half of the time.
Maybe when Sorey finishes purifying Maotellus and returns, it brings Velvet and Inominat out by accident.
Then a third game in this world leads to the two teaming up to save the world from Inominat and Lunarre.
If they revisit this setting, I want to see King Claudin's journey as a Shepherd or King Meliodes as a Lord of Calamity as stated within the Zestiria Guidance Book.
It could happen in the Zestiria anime. Velvet is in the openings for seasons 1 and 2, has 2 episodes about her escape from Titania in season one, and the Rolance's ruler tells Sorey about Velvet.
Armatized Artorius is one of the most badass-looking "villains" I have seen in a LONG, long time. Holy Hell I screamed when he transformed in my playthrough.
I love the Tales series, I just think it's funny how almost every final boss has a good point on why they should potentially destroy the planet for a perfect world lol

The fact that the game's over hurt me even more than the nature of the ending itself which in comparison didn't bother me quite much :(
Also I was so surprised when Laphi confessed I was like 'hooolyshit he actually said it' :o so glad he did & Velvet accepting it cuz it's been boiling in my chest for the longest time during the game. I wonder what was her dream about that Phi mentioned at the end of the vid, I thought her wish was something like exploring the world with her brother or being able to live with him or Phi again but that's unlikely to happen given the current situation so was it something to do with mankind & such?
Now I'm once again left with that awful feeling of big emptiness within after I just finished the game which I've been playing since January so literally for *HALF A YEAR* but ofc it's because I'm playing at a pace of 1hour everyday with few exceptions (it's part of my resolve to maintain a balance between work & entertainment :) for what I wished would be a total of 100 hours when I finish Innominat but unluckily it got to 98 instead :p well I still have to try out what little extras there're afterward.
Damn it I wanna scream so loudly ! This game's been like a part of my life now :'(
I really really loved this game til the end it's def gonna stick in my memory for a long time, I just wish I could express my sincere gratitude, support and a ton of praise & respect to the team who made it, really a pure jewel that I didn't expect to enjoy this much when I started it & even less to find in the current era of games. I just realized, Arthur is basically Kratos from Symphonia. They both lost their wife and son before giving up on the world, they get involved in a plan to suppress emotions, they are partially responsible for humans turning into monsters, they work for/with an old being that looks like a child, fight with swords, posses ethereal wings, and lose to a party their sons are on. The only difference is that Kratos lived.
So, it seems the writers needed to remember that copying and pasting plot points from their previous games is not a good thing.
Such a sad ending to a fantastic game.

you know, i was way too hard on this game, and the final boss of this game is one of the best i've seen of the tales series so far
Sad but happy ending. Still if this game was to continue. Then it is possible. Velvet did broke out of the dream world she was in before in Aball or whatever it was called. If anything, eventually she could feel that the world she’s living in is a lie and challenge the harsh reality to escape. Though for that to happen. Velvet would have to learn to accept that goes on. Who knows, maybe eventually she would realize that a dream is just a dream. Despite everything that happened, she still had friends. Though, you can understand why she came to that decision. From the very beginning of the game, she practically goes on with no hope whatsoever. Death wouldn’t matter after she had accomplished what she had set out to do. It’s complicated, but she definitely is a very well developed antihero. This game has potential for a final version for sure.

We don't often see the protagonist as a villain while the antagonist is also a villain yet In a way I realised he wasn't actually evil. Artorius is one of the best written character I have seen because I am a writer. He actually inspired me to write my own villain "Venom". I just love the idea of the bad guys saving the day in a world gone wrong
It seems with every Tales game, a hole is left in my heart by the time I complete it

there're many Lord of Calamity so people probably not gonna mention her specifically. Eizen and Zaveid took down one and result in Eizen become a dragon (in Zestiria)

Velvet got my mad respect for what she did to author. Such a bad a female protagonist. Something I've always wanted. This game granted my wish.
I remember the first time I fought this boss, I was so fired up by the fight in the cinmatic but once it ended and the real thing started it just wipe out my party like nothing, it took me a lot of effort to defeat this boss.
So Laphi became Maotelus and purified all the malevolence including the therions. So that means the therions is no longer part of Innominat?
The therions aren't, Laphi probably still is.
Phi is Maotelus so he IS alive. He almost died in Zestiria but Sorey saved him. Laphi and Velvet are also alive too, just sealed away in a form of permanent feeding cycle. And most Therions went back to normal but any Daemon/Hellion that enjoys the feel of malevolence in their soul (like Rokurou) can't be purified. It'similar to how Sorey couldn't purify high level Hellions in Zestiria because they were too tainted by malevolence.
I might also point out thar Velvet is still a Therion.
I think Velvet owes Sorey a big thanks for saving Phi from the God of Calamity Heldalf.
Technically Heldalf's plot is independent of Maotelus' corruption. Maotelus was corrupted by the war between Heldalf's Rolance Army the the Hyland Army led by unnamed individuals. Though indeed it was the God of Calamity'splot to merge with the corrupted Maotelus, but that's just a side-plot. Fromthe very start the true end goal of Sorey'sjourney was going to be the purification of Maotelus himself, as Heldalf was just a distraction. Sorey just took too long and the goal of freeing Maotelus and defeating Heldalf ended up coinciding with one another.

Such a fantastic game. I really don't know how they can top this one. This is probably my favorite Tales game (Tied with Abyss.), and my favorite Tales cast.

I don't get it. I'm on the last boss and they literally wipe my team in seconds. I'm playing on insane difficulty but every battle before this was really easy...
This is what happened to me yesterday in Chaos. Use an All Divide. Have Velvet focus on Innominant and stun him as much as possible. the second you get him out of the way the fight is easy. Funny, this game was super easy until this last fight, even on a high difficulty.
What level did you tackle him on Chaos mode? I was planning newgame+ on chaos mode. Kinda disappointed to hear the game is easy up until the last fight again.
Well, there are ways in which it can get difficult for sure. when you have dangerous encounters, or fight Jude and Milla. However, regular game isn't too tough. I believe i was on Lvl 90, and I used an All Divide otherwise they instantly wiped me.

Alot of tales protagonists tend to share artes (see fang blade, demon fang , stone dragon ascent.) However, I think the fandom mostly agrees that Artorius straight up Jacked Yuri Lowels' Mystic arte.
Well, that's mainly because while yes, lots of characters share arts, all of the characters tend to have their own unique mystic artes with the exception of cameo mystic arts, which tend to be non canon dlc extras anyhow.

Its interesting how Xillia 2 is called the "Dark Tales of" because it has no happy ending and is in general pretty dark in what happen and what you do. But is Berseria/Zestiria any diferent really ?
BERSERIA:
- We lose our sister and her unborn child
- We get sacrificed by our brother in law including our real brother
- We give a crap about humanity in pursuit of Artorius
- Artorius does not even know that our Laphi is his unborn child and fights him to the dead and wants to sacrefice him again
- We are sealed forever eating our own brother while he eats us
IN BETWEEN:
- Nothing changed and a new Lord of Calamity arised (which this time really is an evil being)
- The Shepard gets killed and Eizen turn into a Dragon out of despair eating and killing the Lord of Calamity
- Zaveid loses his best friend and Edna her brother at this day and Zaveid determined to keep his promised he made in Berseria....killing and feeing him.
ZESTIRIA:
- A new Lord gets born because of War and hatred. The current Shepard used his own Son as sacrifice to curse and turn Heldalf into what we know him for
- Laphi is already sick and weak because of the constand cleansing making it easy for Heldalf to take him and use him

The only way for an happy end is opening the gate to heaven and fight the heavenly Seraphim who cursed our Zeraphim and humanity. Sadly the door can only be opened from heaven so we cant win....never.
I mean how isnt that a " Dark Tales of " ? This is even darker then Xillia 2 when youre being honest. There never was a happy ending in both games and both are pretty dark however in Xillia 2 we at least got a chance to change the world depending on the wish we make. In Berseria/Zestiria there is no chance not even the real villains are ever shown nor to we even get the chance of kicking their ass. Berseria/Zestiria is rigged from start to finish its only a matter of time until Mankind loses even if it takes millenia. I know most people hated Zestiria for some reason but looking at both games together the story isnt bad people just didnt understand it.

Its a while back implayed and this short flashback scene was a little clouded.
Its kinda sad tho that our sidekick gets a really epic backstory while Sorey....well.....hes just Sorey. Would have been funny if he turned out to be Heldalfs son and Heldalf didnt know about him or something like that.
