Not that there is anything wrong with them, just that, their history remembers this woman as a Demon who brought darkness into their world. All other details, such as her personality, traits, talents, knowledge, and the hidden connection she shares with a few unlikely elements from then to their now, are deemed unnecessary.

I think that's honestly part of what makes her not an edgelord. Like a normal person, even someone as pissy and generally screwed over as Velvet, can still smile.
Don't worry, people will never get over the whole Edgelord thing. Apparently once you start dark and edgy,it won't matter if you make a 180 and become much nicer, you will still be one. Even though Velvet had a lot of character development and her entire outlook and priorities change by the end of the game, to the point she was constantly worried about the results of her actions,something she didn't give two shits about when the game began.
Was she ever truly edgy though? I mean I think most people would get emotionally fucked up after seeing their brother in law kill their little brother. People just think all black+serious=edgy, when it isn’t always the case.

She really only shows her true self to Laphicet here, and this Malak whom she named Laphicet brought her out of her shell. okay so In terms of Sorey it would be before the boss, with Dargon Aizen still around for Sorey and In Velvets time they would meet after they get completely destroyed the first time around but before the final boss, around the time they stop in port to grab the medicine for the pirates.
