You shouldn’t need to add any flavor to a filet mignonette and to those of you that think that these steaks are raw, you have not been brought up eating at five star establishments where beef is cooked properly.

“I’m going to leave the bland unseasoned steak for you”, even the kids on Master Chef Junior know better.

He takes the steaks off when the light indicator is green. Then he said that it is perfectly medium/rare. The light indicator says it is rare when its yellow...

If medium rare you mean raw then yes these steaks are perfect.

      “How to Cook Rare Steak
A steak done rare isn't requested that often; it is for the true carnivore who wants something nearly raw but gets it cooked as little as possible.
The meat should be soft to the touch, much like raw meat, but browned over the surface.”

      “RARE STEAK
If you order your steak rare, it will come out charred by a grill or flash fried on the outside. The inside of the meat will be almost completely red, with a much cooler temperature than other cooking levels. A steak cooked rare should be soft, similar to raw meat.”

It doesn't work. I overcooked 6 steaks and finally called customer service. They said my steaks were too thick. Can't be more than 1.5" thick. She said it said it under "tips". My steaks were the same size as his in the video.

I've only over cooked two steaks on this grill because of my own fault. Must be something wrong with your machine.

It should be a nice flush pink/red throughout the entire inside. This shit is medium on the edges then raw/blue in the centre. Fucking vile.

The middle is supposed to be raw even on a medium steak. These steaks are nice and thick, so a medium rare would mean to cook about a quarter of an inch deep. However, if you like the flavor of a steak like this but are comfortable with how red the middle is, you can let the steak sit for a minute or two after cooking while it reabsorbs it's juices and the surrounding meat cooks the center a little further without changing the taste.

      GlaciusTS... so wrong!
A steak's doneness isn't based off of how much of it is raw! That's the most absurd fucking thing I've ever heard.

    • @GlaciusTS
      @GlaciusTS 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Ari Ari I sense you are trolling, but I'll humor you. Doneness is determined by temperature and color mostly. I never said that it was based on how much is raw, but typically it is unless you get down to medium-well. Rare and medium rare typically have raw meat in them.
I suppose you could say any heat at all would be cooked, but that's like getting in a lukewarm bathtub of water and saying you are being cooked. Might want to chill next time you make a post and get your facts straight.

No nice searing on the outside is complete bullshit. That's what adds the flavor. Would never cook a filet mignon on a piece of shit like this.

+Jim Pimmers Man, you are so right about this that is not funny. I would never use this contraption on an expensive cut of meat, I have one of those things but I occasionally use it for hamburgers and bacon, that is all.
