    I’m impressed you managed a 9 minute video on how to breed guppies 😂! I would have been able to mange 20 seconds if that! Add a male and a female, 3 months later u have a billion 😅!

      🤣 true but many try that and fail or produce some super weak fish over time

      Seems like 3 out of 4 channels do it quite easily just to have the video 10 minutes for monetization. This is just me going through the TH-cam search which also gives totally unrelated videos to guppies and forces a recommendation to unrelated videos to the search of Breeding guppies.

    Thanks for the video. I'm having problems with them over breeding. Lol. But wonder what your thoughts on having mixed guppy strains breeding? Instead of keeping seperate lines, what would be the likely outcome of just having a free for all guppy tank with say 5 or 6 lines of guppies interbreeding. Thanks again for your vids

    • @BlakesAquatics
      @BlakesAquatics  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Youd end up with some healthy guppies but a mixture of all sorts of things and following generations would breed less and less true. Nothing wrong with it though itd be fun to watch

    Thanks for your video. What plants would you recommend to use in the tank when you are cranking the temperature up to 28 degrees? Also how much does it shorten the life span? Have also heard that shrimp don't do well if you turn the temperature up?

      shrimp dont do well at high temps no. life expectancy of around 1 to 2 years. valisneria is a very hardy plant that is a good choice

      I you live in the US- Petsmart sells a rosette sword that’s been thriving in my heated guppy tanks. I had to heat them to 80-82 degrees f while treating parasites. They’re dong great & so is my Val. And water sprite does well too.

    IMO most guppy keepers fail because they do not know how genetics work or how to maintain traits/lines. They assume they need as many mixed genetics as possible to have a "good" fish. Inbreeding is not the issue, that's how we got specific strains, it's breeding genetically weak fish(set and forget) that becomes the issue.

      That's why I bought Brian Chins book and the blue-green Moscows he uses throughout. I am going to walk the path of a master, compete at a few shows and then start getting creative on my own. There are several traits I want to select for in my endlers, like the huge dorsal fin and pastel metallics. Thankfully liquid rock flows from my taps already.😊
